I wasn't in a rush to go back, but I did want to make sure to give them another try after some time had passed, in case the initial impression had been made prior to them ironing out any unforeseen issues as a new business. Recently, I tried their mac and cheese, burnt ends, potato salad, and beans. It's good. ...Just not amazing. The food seems fresh, the place always seems clean. The younger man that owns/runs the place is very nice. The parking can sometimes be an issue because they're located in a small trip mall connected to an apartment complex. Their prices are also just a little expensive in my humble opinion. The BBQ sauce isn't really anything to write home about. I would say that Off The Hook provides a very solid choice for BBQ in the northland. I like it better than F325 BBQ, Scott's Kitchen, and Wolfpack BBQ. It's similar in level to Char Bar, and maybe Oklahoma Joe's, but falls short to Q39. And I think it still has a way to go to beat Jack Stack BBQ.

I got three baos with three different meats, and a side of fries. My wife got a bowl and a single Bao. It was delicious, tastes fresh, and was perfect. We will for sure come back, and we appreciate the amazing food and great service!

If you're all about fresh ingredients, meaty bites, and bold Asian inspired sauces, this is definitely the place to check out. I ordered the three bao combo for $20 along with a $7 lavender lemonade. I got the 'Mighty Meat' baos 2 of them and 1 Chick-a-licious Baos as a part of my combo meal. The mighty meat Baos were filled with slow braised shredded beef with spicy Korean barbecue sauce, and the Chicken Baos were flavorful packed with marinated lemongrass, grilled chicken. The baos were steamed fresh after ordering and packed with plenty of meat, layered with fresh toppings, creamy sauce, jalapeños, and kimchi. Every bite was full of flavor, and I enjoyed them so much equally that I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. The lavender lemonade was another highlight freshly squeezed with half a lemon added right into the 32 is container. It's such a fun touch and makes the drink even more refreshing as you sip. The owners were really fun to chat with and told me that they have recently started the food truck and would love to venture into the Kansas side as soon as possible. They mentioned that they would be at the 'Kansas City dragon boat festival' in September, so definitely give them a call to confirm those details!! If you love food trucks, supporting local businesses and crave Korean inspired food, Bao Wowz is a must try. For me, it's a definite 10/10!

There is plenty of indoor seating for guest as well. I give it only 4 stars for a few reasons. First, their hours are really odd. The sandwiches are big which makes them more suitable for dinner, it they only serve lunch hours. The location is pretty hidden if you don't know where it is. Additionally, the main knock I have for the restaurant is that they charge extra for water cups as well as paying by credit card. They do not have signs or warnings, so we were surprised by this when we checked the receipt. The price of water should be built into the price given that no sides are provided either. As for the payment method, we would have paid in cash if we knew about the extra charge. Overall, the food is absolutely incredible, but the way they run their business causes frustration among customers. From weird hours to nickle-and-diming, I now understand why customers don't want to come back.
