My wife and I were over on Hwy 291 a few nights ago and made a spontaneous stop. We found the menu very limited and their large concretes not so much. We both had the key lime concrete and found it creamy but it got kinda slushy in fairly short order. It also wasn't colored an appropriate green (not a big deal, just a nice touch), and it kinda lost it's key lime flavor towards the last third. However, the window service was wonderful, being staffed by a very personable young lady. I remember when this was in Overland Park, KS in the early 2000's. To this day, I still remember what I got, the Elvis Presley concrete. The best ice cream in the world! Or frozen custard, or concrete, or whatever it is. I last had a Razzle Dazzle from Sheridan's at another location about 14 years before and had remembered it. When I started to travel to Missouri again, I asked about that Sheridan's and it was closed, so my boyfriend drove me to Liberty to this Sheridan's to get my Razzle Dazzle. You know how they say you can never go back in time? This magical bowl of perfect frozen deliciousness was exactly as I remembered it. As I sat there in the parking lot on the back of my guy's pick up truck as we were eating our ice cream, I felt like we were on our first date. We watched families and couples come and go getting their ice cream, doggies at their heels wagging their tails, you couldn't help but smile. Americana is alive and well at Sheridan's. One of the best chain ice cream restaurants I've ever been to! I absolutely love frozen custard. It's so creamy! Just had their salted caramel brownie sundae! If you ask, they will add whipped cream for you which makes it extra delicious! They have several amazing concretes not advertised like the choco nut joy and my personal favorite the lemon lush! Not recommended for anybody who cares about their/other's health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Drove by and could see that Covidiot staff were exposing everything by not wearing masks. Per the CDC and Clay County Public Health Center guidance, "Customers should wear face masks/coverings [and] Maintain six-foot distance between customer groups. Staff must wear protective gear such as masks and gloves." Not here though! It's really too bad because we were really craving frozen custards. read more

Meh. Not what I expected but maybe it was what I ordered. This place isn't a type of sit and eat being there was nowhere to sit. It's a small joint where you just order and go. PARKING: small and limited APPEARANCE: simple and small nothing fancy CUSTOMER SERVICE: can't quite saying considering I didn't pay however their service was fast. We ordered and received our order quickly. FOOD: we ordered the salted caramel brownie. it was waaaay too sweet. I have a sweet tooth and I love everything sweet so if something is too sweet for me than it must really be too sweet. Pretty much the standard by which frozen custard is served in the metro. Sheridans is my family's go to for this tasty treat. This specific location is kinda like the last hold out in terms of modernization. The drive through is narrow and doesn't have a speaker, so you give your order at the same window that you get your food from. I wish they had more pre-thought-up concoctions, but it's still damn good. Go ahead and skip Culvers and Freddy's and head straight to Sheridan's. read more

While they offer a wide-array of toppings and some unique mixtures, the custard texture is light and melts very quickly, leaving something to be desired. It is rich and creamy, but becomes soupy after a minute or two. I do enjoy the smore combo with graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow cream and chocolate bits. They also switch it up with seasonal flavors, we recently had a lemon custard one that had a whole piece of lemon bar in it. Quite yummy and a good way to welcome in Spring. read more

I've tried their pumpkin pie custard and it has too much sugar, wondering if their other custards have too much sugar.

We went for ice cream this past gorgeous Saturday and sat in one of two benches in front of the shop. Most customers took advantage of the drive-thru. My son did not finish his one scoop of chocolate ice cream but I easily finished my one scoop of vanilla within minutes. Both ice cream cost less than $2.50. While we were enjoying our ice cream, we were watching the cars driving on 291 hwy. It is difficult to get in and out of the parking lot because there is always heavy traffic and fast cars. read more

Tried Sheridan's strawberry shortcake and was completely disappointed. Their commercial shows fresh strawberries but they use frozen. It's not cheap either at $5.40. I wrote to the corporate office and did not even get the courtesy of a response. I'm sticking with Culver's around the corner - cleaner store and better quality! read more
