This place is the bee's knees! The person at the counter (who I think might have been the owner?) was super nice, very patient, and accommodating to what we wanted to order and try! The shaved ice had tons of syrup in it, which I love, and all of the ice cream flavors I tried were delicious! Shoutout to the cereal milk flavor in particular. It's also got a really neat, 50s-style retro decorating scheme reminiscent of Miami itself. It's honestly just a really cool place! We'll definitely be back!

Flight with chocolate, lemon tiramisu, gooey butter cake, strawberry, biscoff, and London fog

If you're debating to come here or not... just go! The custard is phenomenal. The two girls who served us were very nice. We got a flight which was perfect for the first time. My top faves are the gooey butter cake, lemon tiramisu, and biscoff.

A small sized Incredible Hulk shaved ice with custard.

We had always wanted to try this place after driving past many times before. The serving sizes were generous as the small was just the right amount for us. We tried some of the shaved ice combinations from the hand-written menu: The Laffy Taffy with multiple fruit flavors such as grape and more and the Incredible Hulk that was lemon-lime flavored. Both were very good and the custard at the base was a nice complement. The service was very fast and we had our orders in hand in no time at all. There were posted signs that ask for patrons to eat outside which makes sense given the size and current situation. Overall, it was a great place and would like to try something different next time.

I had a difficult time deciding which amazing flavors to try. I was very appreciative of the young lady who helped me with my ice cream order. She was extremely patient while I decided on an ice cream flavor. I went with the Cinnamon Peach Cobbler with extra Graham crackers on the bottom of the cup and hot caramel on top. I was blown away by how well the flavors blended. The fresh peaches added a nice touch. This was my first time trying cinnamon ice cream, and it wasn't because I was afraid to try it, but Miami Ice was the first ice cream shop I've been to that has it, and I absolutely love it! Lastly, I think I'm most excited to discover a location that serves shaved ice all year! I will definitely return for some.

Blueberry ice + blue moon ice cream, lime ice + scoop of custard, grape shaved ice + salted caramel!

This business has a tropical vibe due to the bright welcoming colors inside. It serves a variety of dessert treats; multiple flavors of shaved ice (get a shot of custard or a scoop of ice cream added!!!), soft serve custard, AND at least 10 flavors of hard packed homemade ice cream. I bring this last point to your attention because so few people know that they serve great ice cream. In Kansas City it is difficult to know where to get good homemade ice cream. But...you CAN it if you know where to look! That is the case here. Miami Ice serves Sylas and Maddy's Homemade Ice Cream. This ice cream is the well known brand found in Lawrence KS (University of Kansas) a mere 31 miles away. People of Westport and the Plaza area...you do not have to drive across town to get great ice cream. It's right in your backyard! From double scoops to malts and killer sundae's, you have numerous options to choose from. The pic listed in this review is of 3 shaved ice treats, because the day we went, the heat index was 106°! One blueberry shaved ice with a scoop of blue moon ice cream. One lime shaved ice with a scoop of vanilla custard, and one grape shaved ice with a scoop of salted caramel. What a great way to cool down. The business opens at 2:00pm and closes at 9:00pm. Starting around 8:00pm they very get busy. There is no interior seating. Many people get their order and walk outside eating on Miami Ice's small porch or on the ledge around the front. During Covid times, they do ask that you wear a mask and social distance while in line. If you want a great dessert option in KC, MO...check this place out!

There's a song about Miami Ice. It's "You Belong To The Slurpie" by Glenn Frey. It goes like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bP48ngwLRM The sun goes down The night rolls in You can feel your sweet tooth acting up all over again The moon comes up And your sugar addiction calls You're getting tired of staring at the same four walls You're out of your room And down on the street Moving through the crowds through the KC heat The traffic roars And the sirens scream You look at the flavour choices, its just like a dream Nobody know what you're ordering But it looks a sort of yellowy-green 'Cause you belong to Miami You belong to the Ice Living in a river of melted shavings Beneath the neon ice You were born in the KC World's best BBQ at your feet But this ice in your blood, its in your diabetes You're a Yelper of dessert What to get: Shaved ice with some custard in it, whichever one you fancy Who to date: Any boy or girl you want, whichever one you fancy Miami Ice is simply one of the greatest dessert places in the country - and completely underrated. I've had these shaved ice desserts from so many other places, and they're anything from disgusting and awful, to overly sweet and puke-inducing. I would say it is my favorite product of its kind in the country - shaved ice, and so on - and one of my favorite desserts in the country. Get it with a little custard at the bottom and it's even better. Sort of like a slightly altered version of Gelati from South Philadelphia (the Rita's chain is how you might know that product without having been to South Philly). The Tangerine and the Guava flavors are my favourites, and are both delicious, but pretty much every flavour is great, and you can't go wrong with these guys. Miami Ice is pretty cheap and the portions are pretty hefty, The only complaint I have would be that the guys serving this stuff don't seem nearly as enthusiastic as they should be, considering how amazing their product is! So this is the kind of place you visit TWICE For the perfect products and amazing PRICE One visit per day won't SUFFICE Any more than I'm able to be CONCISE So after BBQ or a Pizza SLICE Let me give you sound ADVICE If you think that dessert sounce NICE Get yourself down to MIAMI ICE WHAT

The ambiance is amazing! Definitely a great summer treat!

Great spot for quick delicious and unique treats! I definitely hold this place dear to me as it has been one of my childhood favorites. Never disappoints, and always satisfies! Service is good. And the whole shop is a vibe and does bring summer feels as soon as you walk in!

There's so many choices here, what or where do I start? I went here for the first time with my foodie buddy. Wanted to try something cold and tasty and we found this place through Yelp. Not too packed on a weekday night. Friendly staff and informative. The desserts we had was perfect to end the night. Tasty and sweet perfection. Can't wait to go back to tried other flavors!

Soft serve Sunday
Ashley M.

We visited during a trip to KC and were happy to find this little spot for some dessert. The ice cream Sunday we got was delicious and we enjoyed the fun Miami theme. They have plenty of choices if you're looking for a sweet chilly treat so you won't be disappointed. Servings are fairly large so I'd suggest sharing or coming with an appetite! There isn't much seating in the little shop but there are plenty of cute places to walk around in the area so taking your treat to go would be fun too.

Lemon Custard ice cream

Amazing customer service, no long wait, good and clean atmosphere, and the Lemon Custard ice cream was absolutely to die for. 10/10 will be back!!

I went a relatively safe route and got lavender honey, which was absolutely delicious & had the perfect amount of lavender flavor. Had to get it in a waffle cone which was so soft (in a good way) that it was more of a pancake cone. Ambiance is cute, service was fast. Can't comment on parking, but it's readily accessible with Metro. 10/10 would recommend!

Especially since Betty Rae's is a local landmark. Since it was a holiday weekend the lines were long, especially with the way the coolers were oriented. The flavors were laid out on a little tree near the drinks cooler, what should I get? Something a little lighter like their sorbet? I texted a former KC local friend of mine and he said go the ice cream route. I eventually settled on the Goat cheese, apricot and candied walnut with the Chantilly cake in one of their homemade waffle cones. I was expecting the Goat cheese flavor would be the standout but the Chantilly cake with the berries was slightly better; the goat cheese was a little too rich. The ice cream was a little softer than I expected and with the soft waffle made it a bit messier than it should have been.

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local? This is your spot. Bookmark it!
