My buddy and I walked in to a rather empty bar with a very nice bartender who greeted us. Started with a Sierra Nevada Hazy IPA which was cold and in a chilled glass. They had 50 cent wings so we ordered up a dozen hot. They came out, looked pretty good but were not hot. Temp wise they were great but not hot so I asked what other sauces they had. They bought out: Hot sauce Gojuchang Pineapple jalapeño vodka hot sauce Mango habanero tequila hot sauce I tried all the sauces but kept going back to a combo of the mango habanero and gojuchang, it was addictive. These were so good that we got another dozen and I ordered a switchback ale to wash it down. The bartender and her mom the owner did everything to thoroughly show us a great time and we appreciated their good company and some great beer and wings. Try this place if you haven't, try it again if you have. If the wings were hotter (spicier), I could see myself going 5 stars, they did a great job

Calling it a diner may not be fair, but based on the prices and the food, I would say it is closer to diner fare than anything else. This is not to say it is not good. The garlic bread served before dinner was excellent, and was refilled with no problem. I tried the haddock dinner. The fish was meh and served with a side of pre-packaged tartar. Everyone else at my table had some variant of italian: chicken parm, stuffed shells, and ravioli. The chicken parm was basically chicken fingers covered in a red sauce with some mozzarella cheese...not very inspired. The cheese ravioli and stuffed shells looked and tasted very good. Two of my compadres ordered dessert - french silk pie and apple dumpling some thing or another - both looked good. For 4 of us, with 2 beers, a round of sodas, and 4 meals (including salads), and 2 desserts it came to $67 - not bad. If you're looking for a hole in the wall in Canastota (not known for fine dining anyway), the Three Pines will suit you just well.

Food was insanely quick, i would go so far as saying fastest prime rib ive ever gotten. Mac Salad had tuna in it (not a complaint in fact i liked it more but not everyone will like that so just a heads up). Mashed and gravy was really good. Whipped and the beef gravy was so savory. The prime rib came with au jus on the side but itself was not very flavorful, the gravy and au jus helped. The service was pleasant but decently spaced out time wise for drink refills. Overall really good and would go back to try other things. $50 for 2 meals, tax, and tip. Not bad.

We should have known by the outside appearance/condition of the building that we were making a BIG mistake. The exterior is in different states of damage and disrepair, the door at the entrance with the handicap ramp only opens 2/3rds of the way, then it gets stuck on the handicap ramp. Once inside, the decor hasn't been updated since 1955 by the looks of things, especially the FILTHY and disgusting carpeting that was ripped and dirty. The bathroom floor was uneven, and stuck to your shoes. The menu is a couple of sheets of paper, with a row of staples down their edge, to hold it together. The food was sub-par, especially the french fries that were grossly under cooked. We sent the first batch of them back, and the waiter brought us a fresh batch that wasn't much better than the first ones. He said they couldn't cook them any more or they would "burn"...They were still under cooked on the inside. I had a "crispy chicken sandwich ($11.99), that was like a frozen patty. If you wanted ANY toppings, like pickles, lettuce, tomato, EACH item cost an extra .75, and there's NO sauce or ANY type of condiment that comes on or with the sandwich. Our daughter ordered the "Sampler platter", which consisted of onion rings, two small chicken tenders (first bite was nasty, couldn'teat that "tender"), and a couple mozzarella sticks. That plate came with a small dish of marinara sauce, and a small plastic cup of an unidentifiable orange colored sauce. My wife had a basic hamburger. The girls drank water, I ordered a root beer. Even the soda was tasteless when it arrived! The bill came to $54.32, before the tip. Definitely would NOT go back there when we're in that area again.
