Starting with Dan Thelen, he provided all options and cost of product details. There were no surprises. The install crew I understand has been with Total Exteriors from the start. The day of my roof installation Zion and the install crew showed up well before the planned start time and rocked it out. Their attention to detail, teamwork and final cleanup was more than what I expected and exceeded the experience that I had 23 years ago with a previous roofing company. We undertook a large remodel project that included a new roof, windows, siding, and gutters than…read moreran from July-November. This two-star rating does not reflect the quality of work performed by the individual sub-contracted companies, which final product was satisfactory after timely repairs. The low rating is due to a significant lack of communication with Ridge Top, and unfinished work. Sub-contracted crews showed up on-site unannounced or changed their work schedule without notice from Ridge Top. We were informed we did not need to be home on days only outdoor projects would be completed, and yet crews were ringing the doorbell asking for instructions about installation that was not provided to them by Ridge Top (window orientation, down spout locations, etc). This interfered with work-from-home meetings. During siding work, the doorbell circuit was closed by poor nail placement causing it to run continuously. This resulted in both the door bell and transformer to become overheated and melt the bell chime cover inside the house. This was replaced by an electrician in a timely manner. Significant work-site debris was left in the yard, and Ridge Top's project managers shared our alarm at the final walk through. Together, we picked up roofing brackets, pail-full of nails we have collected with our own magnet, trimmed pieces of fascia/soffit/siding, and whole shingles. When we signed with Ridge Top we specifically asked, and were assured, that the new window trim would match the existing size, eliminating the need for additional significant drywall and paint repair. After 2 separate measurement appointments before installation, the finished trim installed on 13 windows was significantly smaller. We raised this concern during installation and at multiple walkthroughs, but it was repeatedly ignored. At the final walkthrough, Ridge Top acknowledged the extensive repairs required to both drywall and painting, and offered to provide compensation if we could get a quote from our own painter. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after the quote was shared with Ridge Top and multiple un-returned phone calls, they reversed this decision citing generic contract terms. This situation would not have been an issue had Ridge Top honored their initial assurance of minimal repairs or addressed the problem promptly. Instead, the lack of transparency and follow-through has resulted in unnecessary additional expenses and frustration.

They not only charged two grand over the price quoted, they filed a lien on the property even though they knew I was in the process of taking out a bank loan to pay for it. This was after they had already received eleven thousand dollars (almost all that was due). Ironically, they're filing of the lien might be the the thing that sinks the loan, as it is a HELOC. Greedy, greedy company. As for the quality of the work, I am pretty sure I didn't get my money's worth. There are items on the invoice that I am certain they didn't do because Jeff, the guy in charge told me they weren't going to do, but he told me he would be billing insurance for anyway. They got it all done within a single day with a bunch of guys who didn't speak English. Their sign will be going in the garbage today.

Our house has a complicated driveway and parking situation which their crew was able to work around seamlessly. Our HOA had its own approval layer on top of the city permit, and Sun Vault Roofing helped us navigate a two-week back-and-forth over approved shingle colors (side salad: ridiculous that HOAs have this kind of bureaucracy). Despite the complications, Sun Vault Roofing kept us updated through every delay and milestone without us having to chase anyone down. That alone was worth the price difference. The crew showed up on time, worked two full days, and left the yard cleaner than they found it. The roof has now been through 2-3 major storms since installation, including the crazy hail in April and there is not a speck of damage. Everything looks sharp and clean. Great work and great people…read more We have a newer home (2 years old) and during this last wind storm part of our ridge vent shingles came off the roof. We called the roofing company that built our house...crickets. Not even so much as a call back to say they were busy. With rain coming up, and after 4 days of trying to reach the original contractor, we called Rodriguez Exteriors. Rodriguez Exteriors answered the phone with a real human. Orlando was responsive, honest, fair and was out the same day to give us a quote to repair our roof before the rain that was forecast. They did a physical inspection, took plenty of pictures and clearly explained what happened, likely reasons why it happened, and went through options for us as to what can be done. In the end, it was discovered that three factors caused the issue. The wrong ridge vent was used, the wrong nails were used (too short of nails were used for ridge cap usage), and lastly the nails were driven most of the way through the shingles at installation so when the shingles came up they broke through the shingles. Rodriguez Exteriors was very diligent about using the appropriate materials, oem recommended products and installing everything in a professional and proper manner. The work was exemplary and had it not been a holiday weekend, I would have had them replace the ridge vents on the rest of the house on the spot. We will be scheduling them back to do so. When the team was done with the replacement, everything was cleaned up. It looked amazing, and was done correctly. Thank you Orlando and team for getting us repaired and back to water-tight again. No one wants to call for roofing repairs, let alone on a 2 year old home. But the one good thing that came out of this was that we found Rodriguez Exteriors.
