I had lip injections done by Nurse Kaylan in 2022, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. My lips were bruised and noticeably uneven. When I brought up my concerns, I was reassured that the swelling would go down and that everything would even out. I followed up as instructed, but the results never improved. I was basically left waiting for it to "settle," which never really happened. To make matters worse, Nurse Kaylan left the room multiple times during the procedure, which didn't exactly inspire confidence. It felt like she was unsure of what she was doing, and the end result reflected that. Luckily, this was during COVID, so I was able to hide behind a mask until things finally looked somewhat normal. Fast forward three years--I got my lips redone at another medical spa with no issues at all. The difference in skill and technique was night and day. I had paradoxal hyperplasia under my chin from CoolSculpting and wanted a neck lift. I called almost everyday (very patiently and politely ) to see if I could get in a cancellation. I had sent pictures to the receptionist Natalie at the front desk, she consulted with Melanie Malone and said that they could help me. I finally got in with her after months of waiting having major depression from the outcome from my chin getting larger. I finally got in with her after waiting for 3 months to find out she couldn't even help me. She only treats the face up, and not even the neck. She basically told me she could not help me and directed me somewhere else. I appreciate her refunding me my $250 consultation fee, but that wasn't the point, the point was she wasted my time for 3 months when she could have politely said this is not something I'm going to be able to help you with, end of story. I feel like this could very much have been handled over the phone months ago, or through an email, but no over the past 3 months and waiting... wasting my precious time when I could have been getting treated. I'm not sure why they told me that they could help me and had me wait 3 months to tell me that they couldn't help me in a 3-minute consultation. This is terrible communication. Natalie at the front desk acts like a robot, there's no empathy in her mannerism. What a waste of time. I'm so happy that I finally got a WONDERFUL outcome from a surgeon that DID care, Dr. Ivey plastic surgeon on Maui. I'm so bummed to write this review because I waited months to see Dr. Malone for a consult and today just was not what I was expecting. I came in with pictures from poor injections of Botox and filler in the past as I was looking to fully transfer my care over to Dr. Malone moving forward. I wanted to talk through my facial goals in this appt and then come up with a plan, but instead, she didn't really even sit down to talk with me. I don't know why the nurse and her thought I was just coming for Botox -- I was coming to see what could be done to address the areas I'm self conscious about even if those areas didn't need treated right then. She did tell me to wait a few months for my filler to go down, but there was no set time or guidance. It's so important for me to have an injector who listens to my goals and helps me identify what we should do for me to achieve those. Unfortunately, I didn't get that today and the visit fell short for me. I really wish more time would've been spent with me 1:1 especially since I am looking for a completely new injector to handle everything. I came to see Dr. Malone last week for a consultation to go over changes that I've noticed since having a cosmetic surgery several years ago. When I called the office initially, I explained the issues I was having and made sure to mention that my surgery took place years ago and asked if that was something Dr. Malone would even be able to see me for. I was told yes, I should make an appointment. My issue is that as soon as I got to the exam room and explained my concerns to Dr. Malone, I was told that there's nothing that can be done surgically for my case. It was a short appointment, I tried to ask questions and explain in more detail since I had already made the time and effort to come to the office, but it was immediately clear that I was in the wrong place for the issues I am having. I left feeling like that appointment shouldn't have even been made. I chose to make an apt with Dr. Malone's office as she has a very good reputation in the medical community. I was assigned to N.P. Kaylan Lady. We decided on the skin pen procedure. It turned out really well however, when I looked in the mirror it was the bags under my eyes that really bothered me. Dr Malone is incredibly professional and kind. She is very honest and up front about any risks that come with any given procedure (there's always a risk no matter how good the Dr is) and very informative on what to expect after having a procedure done. I had Restalyne injected into my nose for a "liquid rhinoplasty" and she guided me through all the info and provided me with fantastic results. I went for 2 visits, the initial visit plus a complimentary touch up, where Dr Malone helped me achieve the exact results I wanted. I was really picky and she assured me that this was for ME and helped me feel more comfortable with being picky if that makes sense. Also, the numbing cream she used REALLY works. The whole thing was more comfortable than getting a flu shot! I was expecting some pain, but honestly this was less than painful, and more of a slight discomfort. I started coming to Malone Plastic Surgery in 2023 to begin Botox treatment and do a skincare assessment. I struggled with acne my whole life and did accutane in college. Accutane did not control my acne prone skin. Kaylan did a skin assessment and set me up with a regime with Zo Skincare. Throughout various appointments we have come up with a skincare plan that actually works - I use primarily the salicylic acid based products and love every product I've tried and adapted into my routine. My favorites are the salicylic acid wipes, the exfoliation accelerator, exfoliating polish, and the new clarifying serum. I have never had such smooth skin texture and control of breakouts. I had a consultation with Dr. Melanie Malone on January 8th, 2024. She was very professional and kind. I came to address 3 concerns with her: neck, upper lip and nose. She listened very carefully to my concerns and asked questions to gain a complete understanding of what I wanted to do. My situation was a "more difficult case" she explained because the changes I wanted to make were very small in the neck and nose. I'm a recovering perfectionist ha ha. Dr. Malone explained the physiological structural aspect of procedures, so that I clearly understood that the adjustments sought after were not as simple as "just pulling skin a little tighter" here and there. She explained that what I was seeking called for very specific types of surgical procedures that she does not perform. The type of neck, lip and nose surgeries that Dr. Malone performs are great for the right candidate, but she honestly explained that this is not my situation. She did point me in the direction of a couple surgeons she knew to be specialists for what I was looking for in these three areas. She explained that should I proceed, I need to work with surgeons who specialize in very specific types of procedures to address my concerns. Dr. Malone is a person of very high integrity. She is in this field for the right reasons, which is to serve her clients in the best way possible! She offered that there are many surgeons who would have said yes to the procedures I thought I needed, but that she didn't want me to waste the money because the results would not be satisfying to me, again because the changes I'm looking for are so slight. She wanted to make sure that I didn't waste my money! How rare is that anymore! Even though I paid a consultation fee, and I will not get to work with her, it was very much worth it for the education and clarification that she provided so that I now have a better perspective on my overall situation, and I know how to proceed with a more complete understanding. Do not go see this doctor. I spent $900 on filler under my eyes. She completely botched it, creating bags under my eyes. I went in a second time, she put in botox right under eye as she thought that would help. Botched again with bags, and deep lines where she put the botox. I went in for a third time and she had three other patients in other rooms running around. I waited 45 minutes and she RUSHED in and just said she will remove the filler, BUT she left about half the filler in as she was rushing around trying to juggle 4 patients at one time. No offer for any amount of refund, nothing. COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME, $900 out, and my eyes look MUCH worse. I am beyond disappointed. I hope no one has to go through what I went through. I'm writing a review as I am not happy with the way my consultation went after waiting months to see Dr. Malone. Your first meeting with a plastic surgeon/injector says a lot about them and they way they care for their patients. I went in about an issue with my jawline that has bothered me for years! I had gotten Botox in the past into my massater muscles to ease TMJ but also because I loved the slimming effect it had on my face. However even with the Botox my main issue with my jawline was still there and I was and still am very self conscious about it. Dr. Malone came in and didn't even sit down. It seemed like she had a lot of patients to get to. She asked me what my concerns were and I told her about my past treatment but told her it didn't help my main concern. She pretty much dismissed it and said that if I had gotten Botox in the past and I liked the results then I should just do that again. I went in there hoping for a full consultation where we could go over all the options non surgical and surgical. She said my concern was extremely subtle and I could get kybella but it probably wouldn't make a difference. This issue I notice in every single photo, I notice it in the mirror and I'm extremely self conscious about it. I was so excited to get to talk to Dr.Malone about it but it seemed that she did not think it was important enough to go over. After she left the room I started to tear up as I was so frustrated. If someone waits MONTHS to have a consultation with you you should at least give them the courtesy of sitting down and going over every possible option for treatment. I still got the Botox in my masseter muscles which I've had done by other plastic surgeons in the past and I did not feel Dr. Malone's technique matched the level of past injectors.
