I cannot recommend Restore SD enough. The entire staff of Restore SD is fabulous, and Dr Gallus leads the team. My amazement started with my very first appointment, when I walked into the treatment room and two members of the team were there to greet me and get started! No doctor's office has done that ever! The all female staff (well almost, the anesthesiologist is not) is wonderful. You walk into the office as if you are walking into a spa. It's quiet, lovely, and everyone is very friendly. The surgery consultation, the pre-op, the emails, everyone was careful to ensure every question was answered. I really do feel as if they cared about my comfort as well as my appreciation of their work. Every tiny thoughtful need is taken care of, even those you never even thought of. The "gift bag" containing pre surgery meds (non prescription) plus lip balm, scar cream, and even cough drops to soothe your throat after the surgery was a lovely touch. And Dr Gallus is a miracle worker. I am so pleased with my surgery. I'm still healing but I know I will be very happy with the final results. The follow ups, starting with the text from Dr Gallus just a few hours after to see how I was doing, and my two post ops, have been exactly as expected - polite, friendly, professional, and we are pleased! I am very happy I decided to say no to the doctor who had been recommended to me, and go find my own!! From the moment I walked into Restore for my consultation, I just knew this was the place I wanted to do my surgery. Dr. Gallus is absolutely amazing, she's kind, knowledgeable and was helpful from the very beginning. Wonderful bedside manner. The rest of her staff is the best...front desk, billing, nurses, anesthesiologist, etc. With the whole process, I truly felt that they cared about me and wanted to help me gain my surgery objective. Dr Gallus explained everything soooo well, as did the rest of the staff at each part of the procedure. My favorite was the care taken on the operating table before I went under. I was visible nervous, and the anesthesiologist calmed me with pictures of his puppy, the nurses comforted me, and Dr Gallus held my hand as I went under. One of my favorite parts is my nurse was sitting bedside when I woke up, reassuring me that everything went great and comforting me as I came to. Many times before I've woken up from anesthesia to the staff all buzzing around the operating room, tidying up, etc., leaving me wondering what day it was, where I was, etc. But no, my nurse was right there for me in the recovery room. From my take-home package that included pre-surgery vitamins, Chapstick, lips get chapped when we go under, cough drops because your throat can become sore, and arnica for bruising, no male surgeon I have had, including in" La Jolla and Beverly Hills" has ever been so on top of every detail. the tiny details just blew my mind I've had eight surgeries in my life; half were elective body enhancing. So, I am speaking from experience. The attention to detail that Dr Gallus and her staff showed me, I can't begin to say how amazed it was. Then after surgery because she had prepared me so well, I woke up I was in no pain I had no pain for 24 hours and I hadn't taken anything but 2000 mg Tylenol morning of surgery I've taken 2 of the opiate pain pills in total, the Valium was the best for me, otherwise I would be cleaning the house. Best recovery medicine is rest and relaxation. The generosity with the compression garments, mind blowing, some doctors have you purchase them. (TO BAD THEY MUST GO NAMELESS LOL) Not only did she supply them she gave extra!! And the foam pieces for EXTRA COMPRESSOIN on Lipo area; BRILIANT! The speed at which I am recovering is astonishing, this Dr. needs to be a teaching her methods to all surgeons!! I have told all my female clients about Dr. Gallus and her staff! I had been walking around feeling deformed since 2002, because a previous liposuction on my belly that was so deep it was like a Ditch running from hip to hip. And my breast augmentation from the same Dr. (Beverly Hills), mentioned to me after surgery that he made them bigger than we discussed!? WTF. Dr. Gallus and I decided to go a little smaller, and she suggested a slight nipple raise. I was little nervous of possible sensation lose, but already have full sensation. Hello Yelp family, As a model, I normally would not write a review about a plastic surgeon's office, but I was referred to Restore SD Plastic Surgery through another plastic surgeon, Dr. Victor Chung (see review). Dr. Chung specializes in the face only - so he sent me to Restore for all my other concerns. And I'm so glad he did! Finding a REALLY GOOD plastic surgeon and a medical spa you can get Botox, fillers, etc is not easy! I interviewed other doctors and went to many other offices, to LA, Beverly Hills, Orange County, SF Bay Area, and so on. So I've done the leg work for you. Let me assure you, this is the place you're looking for. Restore is run by Dr.Gallus. She is not only the board certified plastic surgeon, but she does the botox/filler injections herself. Most other offices will have part time nurses handling this, or general primary care physicians who do it as a side hustle. NOT the case here at Restore. Dr. Gallus is a bad ass, she often speaks at prestigious national plastic surgery conferences with hundreds of other plastic surgeons in attendance. She is known for her expertise and skills, throughout the US. I feel so blessed that she's right here in San Diego. And don't let the posh office and gorgeous ladies who work there intimidate you. At first glance, you won't know who the Doctor or Nurse is - as everyone is beautiful in this office. No joke. They look like a magazine ad for sunny happy CA living. I was client for a few years, Under Dr. Gretchen Taylor she changed my life & and helped me during every interaction with, her was amazing! Unfortunately after many years of serving her country an an ENT surgeon for the military, she retired from the military & got into the cosmetic field. I had a medical issue and was reffered to Dr. Gretchen by other ENT Surgeons at At Sharp Hospital. Gretchen lived locally & only started working there there about 3 years ago after getting tired of commuting to North County. I was transferred to a Restore nurse employee who was trained under Gretchen due to the severity of the masseter jaw muscle issue I was having. The nurse was great as well. But Gretchen wasn't an employee of Restore she had her own clients and some arrangement to work out of the office because they always had free rooms open. Unfortunately the Management & Dr. Gallus are just Money Hungry, Gretchen is a care giver & a professional. The Management & Dr Gallus are Rudy & Unprofessional. I highly recommend you take your money else where. Because the second you have a question regarding billing or anything else you turn into just another number to them. So get ready because in the flip of a dime, the claws come out & you see their true colors. I thought it was strange when I heard Dr. Gallus says her sister in law even pays to get her Botox, filler, etc. at another facility. But since I was not her patient, I didn't put too much thought into it. NOW I NO WHY EVEN Dr. GALLUS FAMILY TAKES THEIR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!! If that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. I'm so happy with my new provider. Under Dr. Gretchen, I had no complaints. Dealing with Restore after she left was no longer the same. it's sad because Restore is close to me as well. But I'm commuting now to North County to get treated from professionals again. Had my first treatment yesterday at my new practice & it's nice to feel the warmth & care from the whole staff. The nurse who took over from Gretchen was very nice & I appreciate her. This message is not against anyone but management who takes the money for surgery consultations & Dr. Gallus. When on 2 occasions after Dr. Gretchen left there were other patients in heated arguments in the lobby. I just walked past and figured they were having a bad day or a little agro, later I remember one of the other patients wanted to review her billing. Reflecting back now on all the red flag I ignored, I would have never referred anyone to Dr. Gallus. Unfortunately I did & the experience was even worse. Best of luck to the kind staff, at the front desk greeting you & the nurse who I saw for about 6 months. I hope all the staff keep their resumes up to date. Logistics first, the office is super-responsive, answered all my questions, and they are always on time. Easy to get to, and tons of parking. I was looking into fraxel or microneedling and had a consult with Dr. Gallus. Ah-mazing. She totally connects, listens, and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I ended up getting fraxel on my hands and microneedling on my face. While we waited for the numbing cream to do it's trick on my face, I set my hands in the fraxel laser booth.
