I was disappointed by Dr. Cohen. If you want a consult, you have to pay for it. Be careful! Now, I am very cautious of any doctor who charges because Dr. Cohen wasted my time and money. He offered no concrete ideas or plans for the issue I came in to see him for and instead spent most of the time selling and pitching me on his new product line. I was so disheartened. I spent over $20,000 dollars and it was COMPLETE waste of money. I had a full facial fat transfer and PDO threads in April 2025 and waited a year to give my honest review. I am writing this to warn others before they spend a significant amount of money at Face Plus with Dr. Stephen Cohen. I was referred to Dr Cohen by Dr Kevin Sadati after I thought I did my thorough research I chose Dr Cohen, The initial consultations went well and I thought we had come to an understanding of everything that I wanted. He suggested PDO threads and a full facial fat transfer which I had agreed to and then we did the procedure. The swelling was very difficult and took a long time to subside. This is why I waited a year to give my honest review because it was not worth not even $2000. He would constantly be late to our follow up appointments and we rescheduled at least twice. I understand that he's very busy but I also paid over $20,000 and I would imagine that I'd get some more attention post op. When we consulted, he had suggested another round of that transfer and the PDO threads again, but at that point, I would still have to pay for the anesthesia and the PDO threads, it was not worth it. I am writing this not in a bitter matter just to warn others before they spend their money on this. Again, this is my personal experience and if I can help out at least in person, I will say my truth. read more

FACESPLUS RUINED MY FACE. Please, I beg of you, do NOT go here. Let me tell you why: I have melasama and acne scarring. I have been trying to find a solution to this for years. Based on positive reviews, I was so super hopeful about getting help here. Melinda was my RN. I initially liked her because she appeared compassionate. Emphasis on "appeared." After a few consultations, I decided to go with a series of 4 microneedling sessions. Melinda originally wanted me to go to a depth of 1.75mm. Knowing my skin and how sensitive it can be, I wanted to go lower. I reluctantly let her talk me up to more than I was comfortable with. I wish I would have followed my gut on several occasions here (another red flag being when I asked if Melinda had ever had microneedling sessions herself, she said NO). Looking back, I now believe Melinda is nowhere near qualified to handle problematic skin like mine. Melinda is an RN...that means she most likely did NOT go to school for skin (like, say, dermatologists or aestheticians). She went to school for nursing. That's less specialized and way more broad. All that title does is allow her to do medical aesthetics like botox, lasers, and...you guessed it...microneedling. But I digress. Microneedling appears to be a great treatment on the surface. That's because it causes swelling and inflammation of the skin after treatment, making it appear plump and healthy. But let me tell you, after that all wears off...WOW, the damage done. I looked in the mirror one day and noticed I HAD TINY HOLES AND LINES all over my face. I used to obsess over the scars on my face, so I very well knew those holes and lines weren't there before. It was so obvious that someone took a bunch of needles and dragged them all over my face! I went in to make my skin look better, and instead, IT AGED ME 10 YEARS. You know how bad it hurts to know you just spent your hard earned money to make yourself look even worse?! And then to top it off, have an apathetic team of professionals try to gaslight you and tell you it's all in your head? Because yeah, that's what Melinda did. As soon as I noticed the results, I made an appointment. At the appointment Melinda had THE AUDACITY to tell me those new holes in my face were just "big pores" and they have a new botox treatment for that. So let me get this straight, you ruin my skin, just to then upsell me on something more?! WOW. Just, wow. Now, almost 3 years later, my skin never got better. When I smile, I now have lines form on my cheeks, around my eyes and on my forehead that were NEVER there. I'm in my 30s, and now I look to be in my 40s. Microneedling appears to have scarred my whole face, which in turned ruined the integrity and quality of my skin. My skin is now chronically dry. There's nothing I have found to help it. Faces+ changed my skin for the worse, and forever. I was so distraught over what happened that I lost sleep, I couldn't eat, I lost weight. I was so stressed and cried so many times over this. I wished I could sue so badly but I signed my rights away before I got the treatment. IF ANYONE EVER SUES THIS COMPANY, PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME. Whether CLASS ACTION or whatever you've got, I will HAPPILY be a part in your prosecution. FacesPlus needs to be help accountable for their NEGLIGENT (no aftercare follow up was given, at all, which apparently is essential for healing after microneedling) and damaging (lifetime scarring of my face) actions. I wrote a letter to Dr. Stephen Cohen and the management at FacesPlus after Melinda told me nothing was wrong. Only THEN did Melinda reach out to me to schedule another appointment. She then admitted my skin looked worse, but said there was nothing they could do to help me. No refund, no partial refund, and no attempt to correct the damage they caused. I didn't even want a refund. I wanted them to DO THE RIGHT THING and attempt to correct their error. But no. I was given fake compassion ("oh, I'm so sorry, that must be so hard") and then shown the door. Want to spend thousands of dollars and ruin your face? Then sure, I'd recommend FacesPlus. Want to save yourself the trouble? Go to someone more compassionate, more qualified, and less likely to ruin the precious face you already have. read more

I just spoke w the office manager, Kris, explaining these life-threatening reactions to medical devices. Most of the time, the patient is in the wrong office. I was running to plastics, when it's clear by looking at at least MY photos and symptoms, that I need drugs. My disease was all neurological. The more people I educate about these freak reactions, the better. The manufacturer refuses to help and write any studies and doctors often do not know what to do. My doctor, Mike P.Lafkas, ran bc he is a coward and a disgrace to the profession, he is not even equipped to be playing with these machines and Botox because he is a pediatrician pretending he's a dermatologist, and the machine that was used, was a microwave marketed as a massage. The nurse, who is as dumb as a sack of hammers , should've told me that I was not a candidate. I'm Neurodegenerative now, bc it was a time-based disease. 19 mos in critical condition involving my face and brain bc I could not get help. I was too impaired. This was put in the health category, not the medical surgery device category. I would never burn my face for at all the money in the world. It was a massage to tone muscles. That's what the spiel was at the time. Then Imagine seizing out in your living room going into an altered mental state head banging all your faces is like an electrical machine all over the skeleton and you don't even know what they put in you. Now what? There is an entire subculture of women who are dead, or dying from these machines, that the industry has been hiding for 15 years. Let's all get with the reality of the situation that you can die from drinking too much water. The worst thing you can do is hide this, esp if the persons having a life-threatening reaction as I was and needs medical ASAP. We are often chasing the outside, because what's happening to our faces is so awful, but it's really the body attacking itself, and the person usually needs hard-core drugs like rituximab, high doses of steroids and gabapentin, and sometimes steroids to replace the cortisol because their body goes into fight or flight/shock. I am just trying to raise awareness because my cure was literally five dollar pills at CVS and I could've been cured that day instead I have a severe brain injury, and lost most of my face. What's left is not functional. The torture is magnificent. I'm just another, " hysterical," woman. Read my review from Marina Del Rey Hospital. I knew I was going to burn until I was gone, I just couldn't figure out that the burns were coming from my brain bc I was in a constipated seizure. Cure. Anti seizure pills. Just get the brain to stop producing electricity and no more physical electrical burns. Easy right? Not when it's happening to you. My case is so extreme that it's making the entire medical industry look at itself, because I was young, beautiful, healthy, talented and I had my whole life ahead of me, and the fact that my cure was just a bottle of pills I could have taken that day and been cured in an hour and walked away, unscathed is a shame. I'm not even supposed to be alive, if you call this a life. Kris, the office manager, is a good listener and I feel it's one more person who can tell one more person, etc It's like I have to do a grassroots educational program because these companies are hiding these horrific deaths, that are preventable with the right diagnosis/cure. I don't want this to happen to anyone else again. So once again, I'm going to all the doctors who saw me in my reaction just to educate them to ask the right questions, like, do you need medical, are you in a life-threatening situation? Are you having problems breathing? Visual disturbances? Severe headache? Do you need hospitalization ? Ask about the brain. All I needed was an EEG. Then help get the person an ambulance, because if it comes from a doctor, you will be heard. A lot of doctors run. Thanks for your compassion and passing on the info. All doctors concur that I should have been helped and this should have been written up in medical journals. It's irresponsible of the manufacturer and the pharmaceutical company, to hide this information from other physicians, as this could happen to one of their patients. My review is based on consultation only. A friend chose Dr. Cohen for her rhinoplasty and LOVED him! Which, is why I researched this doctor and facility for the same procedure. The first person I spoke with via phone was very friendly and helpful. She transferred me to Sierra (who handles procedure scheduling etc for Dr. Cohen) was less friendly/helpful. Maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe our personalities just clashed...who knows! But, I didn't feel that the ongoing interaction with her that would be required for the procedure would be a pleasant one. Which, mattered to me. I think Dr. Cohen is highly qualified, he's a member of the rhinoplasty society, and doesn't have any negative info on his medical license. All of which, are important factors. Pricing is also in line with other surgeons for a primary rhinoplasty. My reasons for not choosing Dr. Cohen, was 1) Photos. While his photos are very good, I felt that other surgeons had better photos. And lets be honest, the more photos you see- the better sense you get for the work and outcome you'll have. 2) He does have a few negative reviews for this procedure (call me crazy, but I wanted someone who didn't have any negative reviews anywhere online for the procedure I wanted...surprisingly, I found that in LA!) 3) He uses nasal packing, and from the research that I did (which, was quite extensive)- supposedly the best rhinoplasty surgeons do not use nasal packing as it's a thing of the past. Again, my review is from my own interaction only, and not at all on the procedure itself. My friend did have a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Cohen, and she's super happy with her results. That said, I'm sure that he's a great option for other people too:-) read more
