I personally think it's just too much money to pay more than $500 each time, just to get my hair done. Jessalyn had suggested doing a "hair mask" for a subsequent appointment. But I didn't ask for this. And as someone who lived in Los Angeles for so long, no hairstylist out there has ever suggested a "hair mask." For clients who don't mind paying this kind of money for salon services, this salon might be for them. But even by Southern California standards, I think the total price I paid for hair services here at KOI Salon is still way too high. Southern California is already not a very affordable place to live, and hair services there are also not cheap. I will be looking for a much more reasonably priced salon where I can get quality hair services done without breaking the bank.

Also, I find that some hair stylist can take FOREVER when doing highlight (what with all the foil), but we were taking the foil back out (after drying) within about 40 minutes. Record time from what I've seen. Also, not to mention, I had to cut my appointment short since I was supposed to get a cut as well and they were completely understanding about it. I reluctantly went back to have more…read morehighlights added to my hair since the entire top of my head looked like I hadn't had highlights in months... if you are a blonde who is particular about highlights looking good and not SLOPPY or UNDERPROCESSED, I would avoid this particular stylist. Even after going back to get what I was looking for, I still don't look good. She put a few more foils in my hair, let me process for a VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, and when she told me she was ready to rinse my hair and take the foils out, I looked at her and I said "are you SURE that these have processed long enough"? She looked under one foil and said yes, and I was thinking in my head, "I'm sure my hair is NOT PROCESSED ENOUGH". I just know my hair. I've been getting my hair bleach highlighted for 20+ years. Every 3 months! But again, I put my trust in her and let her take the foils out and rinse my hair. At this point I just want to get the hell out of there, I was being made to feel stupid and picky and difficult when really what I want is quite simple. I don't understand why this was so hard. Basic bleach full highlights. Not a partial. So she "fixed" it but it still looks half done, half processed and orange in a lot of places because she did NOT PROCESS IT LONG ENOUGH. Just as I was worried about. I'm just shaking my head as I'm writing this. I paid GOOD MONEY for a very mediocre job. And I paid extra for Olaplex so my hair doesn't fry, but of course when she had me back to ADD MORE, which she should have done in the first place, she did NOT USE OLAPLEX ON ME. So I paid for Olaplex in my original service, she did not deliver what I wanted, and when she tried to fix it, she skipped Olaplex altogether. So there's that. She should have used Olaplex with my "fix" visit as well. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. I'd just like to warn anyone who is looking for a great colorist, and IF you don't get what you're wanting, you'll probably have a hard time getting anything fixed like I did. I'm frankly just pissed about the whole thing. My hair looks like a beauty school did it and I paid almost $300 after tip. Be wary of this stylist. She didn't perform and she had the opportunity to make the customer happy and satisfied- it would have been so easy! But everything from her making me feel like a whiney complaining picky b*tch to giving me a crappy "fix" with no extra TLC with Olaplex like I paid for with my original service? She blew it. And now I am wanting to warn any potential customers- there's a chance it'll happen to you too. Especially if you've been getting highlights for half your life, you know what you're talking about and what you expect. You might not be happy. Just a warning.

TR3S Salon popped up, and I remembered that I pass by this salon everyday to go to school downtown. My hair is rather wavy, and after reading the reviews of how this salon is perfect for curly hair, I thought I'd give it a try. I called on a Friday morning and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment at 12pm that same day. The lady I spoke with on the phone was so nice! I was so happy I was able to get my haircut that same day. I had my haircut by an incredibly nice lady named Chelsea, and she was able to help me figure out a great cut for my face shape and hair texture. She was so knowledgeable about how I should style my hair and take care of it. I left the salon smiling! I will definitely be back. Very reasonably priced as well. I have never been so happy about a cut!
