The pumpkin flan was a true experience of sweet and savoriness. I couldn't stop eating the ratatouille; it was such a delicious treat. I was able to have a conversation with the chef after our meal, and she encouraged my excitement to experiment and try my hand at some of these dishes at home. I wish I lived in Venice, so I could have La Zucca regularly. They only had one reservation spot for the days we were in Venice, so I definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time.

Saor ran us through the options and we ended up ordering the following: Green beans with almond, grilled fennel with walnuts, lentils and stuffed mushrooms. You really cannot go wrong with any of these as how they were severed though my personal favorite were the lentils and the fennel. Absolutely recommend the place and their hosts and as well the ambiance that you get in a subtle kind of quite part of the town. Just do it!!

The fried guanciale slices were the highlight, but the overcooked egg resembled scrambled eggs, mixed with powdered pepper flavor. It was inedible for us. From what I gather from other reviews, Italian customers probably get better service because they can speak the language and can pushing back on the BS I encountered.
