The venue was visually enjoyable as there were multiple places to take great pics of the area. Our guide, Elena, was very knowledgeable and very engaging for the entire event. She knew the ranch history, the area history, and also the various bridal options on the vineyard. She is a certified sommelier and it was clear she knew her stuff. We had the best time here! My partner and I loved everything about it. Everyone was so friendly, and the hike was easy and very doable. The drive there alone is worth the trip, absolutely gorgeous. Once we arrived, our guide gave a quick intro, and off we went on the hike. The views were stunning from start to finish. We passed through all kinds of scenery: rolling vineyards, bright green grass, gentle uphill trails with panoramic views, even a cave with ancient style drawings on the walls. The place is packed with trees of every shape and size, which made the whole walk feel like an adventure through a living postcard. I'll admit, the wine-to-hike ratio wasn't quite what I expected. I thought there'd be more sipping and less stepping but the hike itself was totally manageable and actually made the wine taste even better at the end. All in all, a beautiful experience. Today (Valentine's Day) was my second time having done the Malibu Wine Hike, and they just keep getting better. Brock was an incredible guide, with a level of witty commentary that really made the visit elevated. (Not to mention the actual elevation, ha!) The hills across the vineyard were absolutely stunning, extra green and luscious due to the winter rains. It's about 2 miles, in a loop, with only a bit of incline at the beginning and end. About halfway through, you get to stop for your wine tasting, choosing between an orange, pink, red or white. I personally found the orange to be a bit too sweet for me, but enjoyed the dry white. Stopping to pet the animals along the way was lovely as well. Would recommend to any visitors or locals looking to explore their own backyard! read more

Amazing Private Vintage VW Bus Tour in Malibu. I booked a 2pm reservation on a Saturday. Make sure to arrive 30 minutes prior to the departure time, late guests will forfeit their reservation. We got there exactly on time, lots of parking, and quick check-in at the cabin. This was a fun bachelorette wine tour with the best group of girlfriends. It's a 3-hour guided drive in Malibu with 3 stops: Saddlerock Ranch, a Malibu beach overlook, an additional winery, also includes wine and charcuterie board. Brad was our awesome tour guide. Maddy Maddy you must request Maddy. A friend and myself went on the VW Bus tour. Maddy came to talk to us to see how we would like to do he tour. We decided to due it backwards so we could eat first. I thought we were going to three different vineyards, in reality it is just a small circle around the one vineyard. The hike, bus, and 4x4 go on the same route. This was the reason one star was taken away, as I did not feel how this was advertised. Now on to the highlights, there is a cue picnic area where you have a little cheese, wine, and crackers. (great Trader Joes ad, since this is where the items come from). Cute and we started with a Moscato, very pleasant it was not really sweet almost as an after note. Next stop Lamas and feeding them, they are super cute and very motivated for food. Then such a special gif we got to see history and the most amazing cave painting which was 250 years old. It was preserved so well it looked fresh. The story was so interesting and just purely amazing. This is really what should bring you here just to see something so amazing and how things started with the Chumash. Next stop is a photo op, they have it framed and it is cute. Nice panoramic view, great photo op. Now on to the final stop, some tables right near the vineyard. It was a serene and comfortable space. read more

This was the best wine tour ever!! First of all, our guide was great. Super friendly and very informed about the wine. He made the tour as good as it was. We took the cute van around the vineyard and had three stops, all paired with good wine. There was a scenic spot, a car stop (trust me this is super cool), then more scenic views and animal spotting before you get to the final picnic spot. The picnic spot includes a nice charcuterie board with great cheese and crackers paired with your wine. The whole tour was so much fun, and the area is stunning. The wine is also delicious. I loved the Rose - it tasted very fruity. My family enjoyed the various white and reds too. Highly recommend!! I would be weary of how hot it can get on the hiking tour. My friends and I were in town just for business but made sure we tried a hike and what a much better experience that you get wine out of it! When made a reservation online which was super straightforward on their website and it was for Friday at 3:30pm. When we got to the place, it was really cool since I've never been to a vineyard. Their restrooms are elevated Porta potty's so they are not gross at all and has lights and such. Our guide was super friendly and really informative during the hike and even offered to take pictures for our group which was so appreciated. The hike is easy for someone my age (late 30s) but for anyone that is a bit older and limited with walking or doesn't do cardio a lot, it could be a little strenuous on the uphill portions and some of the dirt if loose could cause slipping so I would recommend not just the close toed shoes but actual hiking and gripping shoes to be safe. We got a rose at the halfway point which was a nice break and super refreshing. The end of the hike you get two cans of wine to take home and I should have asked if we could buy the other two so we could get the whole set but I forgot. I would suggest to ask that so you can try them all. I loved the hike cause it was simple, the view was amazing, the story of the vineyard was cool and the wine was yummy! Today I went on the vintage VW bus tour with two of my friends and we all had an amazing time. The views were breathtaking, the bus was so cute, and the Saddlerock Ranch grounds had plenty of fun surprises that kept it very interesting. We got to try 3 wines, all of which were varietals that I typically wouldn't reach for, and yet all of which were DELICIOUS. I was most pleasantly surprised by the chardonnay, because I typically am not a fan of the oaky & buttery flavors of chardonnay, but at Saddlerock Ranch they age their chardonnay in a steel barrel rather than an oak barrel which gave it a much lighter and crisper flavor - and I LOVED it! I'd be remiss not to give a shout out to our exceptional guide Elena!! She truly made the whole entire experience so special and lovely. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys good wine and great times, and if you're lucky enough to be in Elena's group you will be in very good hands. read more

Had two vouchers for the wine hike that I'd completely forgotten to use in 2024...I figured to start off 2025 by going, and I'm so glad that my husband and I went earlier today! Quick note: I'd highly recommend eating a small meal before you come since there were only a few snack items in the refrigerator that can be purchased. Upon reaching the entrance, there was someone who was helping to direct you for where to park. I'm unsure if this is typical or because there was something being filmed on the property. There's plenty of parking and was super easy. The check-in building was cute inside, and there was lots of seating available while waiting for your tour to start. We had Maddi as a tour guide - we loved her! She was so kind, bubbly, and overall awesome. We drank a small cup of nicely warmed, mulled wine half-way through the hike then we all went home with two small cans of wine (there were four options to choose from). You could also drink the two cans there, but we had a long drive back to OC and decided to save them. It was a beautiful afternoon activity. Highly recommend going to Malibu Wine Hikes! read more

What a fun, fun, fun experience. I've been wanting to come to this place for ages but never got a chance to and I also don't drink wine/alcohol so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it. Anyhow I came here for a birthday party that my friend was hosting. We went on a private vineyard hike, the girls drank wine, we got to see a few animals and learn about the history of the property which was very informative. Kurt was amazing, he was so friendly, such a great person and wonderful to be around. He took some awesome pictures of us and made sure all the girls were happy. Lots of picturesque spots to take pictures and just overall a really fun place to be. I definitely would come back and probably want to rent the atv for the private tour. Kurt also told me he can accommodate if I don't want wine which I think is awesome. Overall, it was just so nice to take in the fresh air and beautiful views of Malibu. Had an absolutely incredible time on our private 3-hour VW bus tour with our tour guide Kurt for my 30th birthday! First of all the grounds of the winery were incredible. We stopped in a bunch of scenic locations, stopped at a hanger of picture cars, and took a ton of great photos as a group! Kurt was really great with directing us on how to pose! We could not have got the photos we did without his direction! In addition to the incredible photos, we also had two stops outside of the winery! One was to Cornell Wine Co. and the other was to Point Dume which is my favorite beach so we were all very happy with both stops! Also, how could I not talk about the wine? If I could rate our check in experience & person... that would most definitely get less stars. But back to our five star tour guide, Tug, he was so awesome and patient with us! I would've been sooo annoyed lol but he was genuinely most interested in us having a great time.
