Parking wise, there's street parking along PCH, paid parking lot on PCH, street along the beach as well as another paid lot on the beach. Depending on the time, parking is a bitch as it's always full. It's a pretty wide stretch of beach so there's plenty of spaces for laying out and so on. One side has all the volleyball court. We arrived around 11:30 and luckily found street parking along the beach. It was nice out, sunny and a good amount of people along close to the water. We found a spot and made ourself comfortable. There was a good half dozen or so school buses parked where the volleyball courts are. Either a summer camp or school is back in session and it was a beach day. The odd thing, after an hour we arrived, the clouds started to roll in. Within minutes, it went from sunshine to overcast and gloomy. Stayed like that for a good hour and half. Even looking out to the hillside, it was so gloomy that you couldn't see down the beach. When the clouds burned off, it was back to beautiful beach weather. Lifeguard towers were in full force. We did notice that security on four wheelers were patrolling. They did questioned some people. It's a beautiful stretch of beach if you haven't been. The water was beautiful and looked clean but the waves were on a different level. They were pretty massive so lifeguards were on full force. People did go in the water but not a lot. To make it more magical, there were schools of dolphins swimming close by the shore. Even more fun, you could see them basically surfing the waves. That brought everyone on their feet trying to get the perfect picture. There's a good amount of restrooms and showers. It was actually clean which is a major plus. There's also a little lagoon that's a hangout for all the seagulls and pelican. Sand was soft and hot. Beach was clean, water was clean so it's was a good experience. It's a must if you haven't been.

I packed all my motorcycle camping gear into a giant duffel bag and checked it on an airplane. The campground was great. The camp store wasn't open when we were there but that wasn't a problem. We drove to a grocery store in Thousand Oaks and got some food, firewood, and lighter fluid. We stayed 2 nights and it was wonderful. We can't wait to come back and bring the husbands!

It turned out to be a great spot with large trees providing plenty of shade. The site is centrally located, so you share your backyard with others, yet it's spacious enough to maintain privacy. One downside is that people tend to cut through the site to get to the restroom, which is just a few yards away. If you're staying here, I recommend bringing a bike or skateboard for your trek to the restroom/showers and beach. One of my favorite campgrounds near the beach and close to home. It's peaceful and scenic, but keep in mind that it's near Mulholland Drive, so Sunday mornings can get noisy with motorcycles and cars roaring through the canyons. One more thing! I don't think this campground has any raccoons or any wildlife besides birds, well from the few times I've stayed here. The only wildlife we had to deal with were the kids.

What he meant was that there was a a four hour limit from the time we came in. We spent $65 on parking. Lunch was mediocre, it definitely wasn't worth the price we paid. The outdoor seating on the sand is a nice touch, but it's gimmicky and I could not see myself going again without family visiting from out of town. All in all, there's much nicer beaches and restaurants in the area where you won't be charged an arm and a leg.

The only reasons I gave it three stars are practical. Parking is expensive, which can be frustrating when all you want to do is enjoy the natural beauty. If you want to do professional photography, you also need a paid permit, which adds to the cost. On top of that, there are lots of stairs to get down to the beach, so it can be challenging for anyone with mobility issues or small children. Despite these drawbacks, I keep coming back because the scenery here is truly unmatched. Whether it's strolling along the sand, exploring the rock formations, or just sitting and enjoying the view, El Matador Beach captures the essence of California's coastline. The parking lot was full when I arrived at noon but I parked along San Nicholas Ave. It was not too far to walk to the beach entrance. Some things I liked about this beach was that it definitely was not crowded considering a lot of people are vacationing in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area in July and school is out. The farther away you move away from the restrooms and parking lot, the less and less people you will see on the beach. Parking in the parking lot is free but it's not very big so it's easy to see why it fills up quickly. The bathrooms are metal toilets and although there was seat covers there is no soap to wash your hands so you should bring hand sanitizer. There are 2 lifeguard towers but I only saw one active in the tower. The #2 lifeguard tower looked closed up. So you are better off sticking closer to the bathrooms for lifeguard safety. There were a lot of people surfing and boogie boarding here. At one point the lifeguard had to tells some boogie boarders to move down further and it looked like the section they were in was starting to look pretty rough. Dogs are not allowed between 9am-5pm but you will still see people walking their dogs on the beach. Overall it was a nice beach. I feel like there was definitely more driftwood here and more wood pieces in the sand that poke your feet but I did not encounter any tar on my feet at this beach which is a plus.

This city park offers plenty of green space to relax, play at volleyball courts, parking and more. Plus throughout the week you will find yoga pop up classes going on. Food 3 Service 3…read more There was a miss on the hospitality service tonight. We were constantly asking for water, utensils, and attentive service. Not sure if they were short-staffed, but we were utterly disappointed with the experience. For the price point, we expected elevated service for a party of 10 with a mandatory 20% gratuity. I'm not going to blame the servers, as I feel like the service is a reflection of management and how they train and execute the experience for customers. Management, please make sure the glasses are full and that when serving dishes, we have the proper utensils. Now the food , I loved my dish, but my husband and sister did not like theirs.

These displays are fully visible to everyone walking down Main Street, including tourists and children heading to the pier. Regardless of personal politics, this felt less like a retail shop and more like an attempt to provoke and offend in a shared public space. I'm leaving this review so others know what to expect before walking by or bringing their kids through the area.

For years they've been at the same location but in January they moved one block north on the same street. They are located on the south west corner of Beverly Drive and Charleville. They are still in town. This shop is great for finding a bathing suit. They have a huge variety. The store associates are always friendly and welcoming. Besides bathing suits they have other beach themed items like hats, sandals, and pullovers. Definitely a fun place to check out. Metered parking on the street and parking lot nearby.
