My home warranty sent Malherek to fix a problem with my furnace. My warranty company connected me with Darryl. He said that it would probably be tomorrow before he could get to me, but if he got finished early, he would come today. He finished early and called to say he was on the way. He went right to work, found the problem, cleaned the burners, and got the problem fixed in less than 2 hours. Darryl was very polite and efficient. He knew what had to be done and he did it. I was very happy with the work that was done. He said to call him if I had any more problems. I will! I recommend Malherek to anyone with furnace problems. read more

Avoid!! Does not stand behind his work. Installed brand new Goodman HVAC unit.. The very first summer. I had a coil leak. Charged 300.00 freon and then asked did I want to spend 300.00 more dollar to do the dye test to find the leak. Never once offer to help me with a manufacturer wattage. Since It had been less than 90 days then that leak belonged to him or the manufacturer. I surely didn't cause it but Im surely being charged for it. Im elderly and on a fixed income and haven't had central air in my home all summer. He take no pride in his work. It's all about the dollars to him. He knows that I should not be paying for a coil leak. No other company with take the job using the manufacturer warranty. He could have did the leak test last summer and submitted documents to Goodman Customer Service Warranty Dept and got the problem solved but he wasn't any help even though he got paid to install the unit. read more

I typically don't write reviews, but I thought this needed to be brought to light. Through a home warranty, Daryl with Malherek Heating & Cooling had installed a new air handler for my family back in March / April of 2023. He did a good job and we were happy with the result. Happy enough to request his company through the home warranty when we had an issue with our outside heat pump which works in tandem with the air handler. At that point we were without heat in the house. The claim was put in on 12/5/2023 and Dary was out a couple of days later to look at it. All he really did was turn the air handler over to emergency heat and told me that he would have to work with the heat pump manufacturer's tech support to troubleshoot. He was scheduled to be back out on 12/12/2023. Day of that appointment, he cancelled last minute. From that point, I received no communication from Daryl. I called and texted him at least 6 - 8 times and nothing. I finally contacted the home warranty company again on 1/3/2024. They were able to get a hold of him within 10 minutes. They requested additional information from him on the diagnosis. He told them that he would have something for them by 1/5/2024. Nothing had been updated by 1/8/2024. I reached out to the home warranty company again and they contacted Daryl. During the call, he tells them that he does not know how to work on the outside unit and would not be able to continue with the service request. Something he could have told me or my home warranty company on the initial consult. Keep in mind that a whole entire month has gone by without a change in the status of the job that Daryl was hired to do. What makes me sad about this whole thing is that I like Daryl. He's a nice man and very personable, but the lack of communication was unacceptable. My family of six will struggle this month due to a huge electric bill and only because Daryl didn't have the courtesy to respond to his customer on a job he was hired to do. For those who are looking through the reviews and trying to make a decision about Malherek Heating & Cooling, keep digging. I'm not the only customer Daryl has left in this state of limbo. read more

If you want a Christian, a kind man who won't rip you off it is Malherek. He has been to my house at least 4 times for heating and cooling issues. He has been to my daughter's houses multiple times. Whatever he says will be the truth. If you don't call him you're just taking your chances on getting ripped off. I see where Tyler V. posted something bad on here, but Mr. Malherek doesn't do home warranties and he doesn't work in San Francisco either. Tyler V is just a little messed up. read more

Prompt. Fair. July in St. Louis area is brutal. Along with heat indexes above 104. Combined with high humidity and storms that cause power loss and brown outs. HVAC units take a beating. Of course the day after a holiday our A.C. Quit working. I called Malherek early in A.M. they returned my call before they opened and a technician arrived promptly that morning to repair. It was fixed before lunch (and the major heat warning). The price was fair. I will also be setting up a standard maintenance appointment with this company. As the prompt service and reasonable pricing are qualities I look for in service companies. Very pleased with this company and the technician who came out. read more

I called malhereks for a free estimate cause i got 2 other ones just for my ac system coil and condenser found out for a 1000$ more i can add a new furnace as well these guys installed my equipment next day a full system for alot cheaper then everyone else! i was surprised for the quality work that was done for such a good price. They install American Standard equipment and said if equipment is outta my budget they can re quote for a cheaper kind but i know from what i Google American Standard is great so i stay with that plus i got good warrantys. derrell and John installed so ask for them great people best experience i had thanks read more

This guy came out after the home warranty place told us to use him. He did minimal work to fix the AC unit and told us the compressor was bad. The told the home warranty it hadn't worked in months causing them not to cover the replacement cost. I had another company come take a look and fix the unit in under a hour. read more

When I spoke to someone at Malherek's Heating & Cooling, an appointment was set between 10 am and 2 pm the following day to repair my air conditioner. At 1:40pm the next day, I decided to call the company because no one had arrived and I had not heard from any service person. No one answered, so I left a message and waited. At 2:10pm, I called again and this time the service person answered the phone. After explaining who I was and why I was calling, his rely was, "Umm... I guess I should have called you earlier. There's been a lot of rain so things are running behind. I'm not gonna make it out there anytime soon." I told him I would find a different company and that this was completely unacceptable. The weather forecast predicted rain that entire week and that excuse did not validate the fact that no one from the company bothered to contact me at any point. I waited around for over 4 hours when I had many other things to be doing and lost an additional day of renovation on the house because it was too hot and humid for painting to continue. I contacted a different company (Cool Heat Plus) and they showed up promptly at 8:30 am the next morning. read more

We were assigned this company to fix one of our heat pumps. They were prompt to show up and assess the issue, a broken heat pump. This was in the middle of June. On the 19th of June the owner showed up with his "work force" (his children) and successfully removed the bad heat pump. Then work stopped. He told my wife and I the home warranty company sent him the wrong unit (upon speaking with the home warranty company, we learned he ordered the wrong one...it gets worse). On the 23rd of June he requested the correct unit and it arrived in his hands the next day. Here we are, the 3rd of July with no progress...he doesn't return calls unless the home warranty company tells him to. The other issue is his requirement of a crane to lift the new unit. He removed the old one with rope and a ladder. His newest excuse is no one has had a crane available, but when I call the equipment rental places, they all have had lifts available. He eventually showed up with a lift...a Grove TMS500e (40 ton crane for a 300lb heat pump...overkill?!?!). He's gone again and we still have nothing to go on because as I watched him, his daughter, and the crane operator try to figure out what to do they looked at me through the window then left. No attempt to tell me to my face what was going on and no phone call...again no phone call. Do your self a favor and NEVER call this guy. And if you do,don't expect a return phone call. I have proof from phone records and recorded conversations with the home warranty company if there is any dispute. read more
