A couple of days later, I received a response and was asked when I wanted to get it done. Since I was near Port Credit a few days later, I stopped by on a whim to check out the place. They were playing unfamiliar heavy metal tunes. Added the new music to my playlist ;) I was greeted by a lovely and personable young lady named Vivienne who conferred with me about my tattoo. Given that it's my first tattoo, I had many questions, which she happily answered and even suggested I consult with one of the artists on site. Lance was working on a client upon my entry but chatted with me about what I wanted and suggested a few ideas to keep my design simple and feminine. He recommended Marna as the artist, who met with me briefly and was preparing to tattoo me on the spot, however, I realised since I'm traveling soon, I would not be able to be outside in the sun for two weeks and had to postpone the appointment until my return. From first observations, the parlour was super clean, both the washroom and lounge coupled with their positive Google reviews and friendly demeanour, which compelled me to go ahead and book my tattoo. Today, I went in and got it done. The process was simple and straightforward. To my surprise, it didn't hurt much! The environment and staff were very welcoming and I felt at great ease. Marna is sweet and understanding. She did a great job! Definitely returning!

Whether that be aesthetician, make-up artist, hair dresser, manicurist, or tattoo/body piercer. I find with that latter it takes a couple of meetings to get to know your tattoo or body piercer well enough to build a rapport. Such was my experience at the Dawn of Evel where I had the pleasure of getting to know shop owner Evelyne and her staff!! These shops typically have a reputation of employing staff that can "appear" hard on the outside, BUT after countless times chatting with the staff at TDOE, I feel like I'm walking into a friends place to hang out! Honestly such nice people! That being said, let's get down to the details here. Dawn Of Evel is slightly hidden as it is a basement level studio located on the south-east corner of Lakeshore and Mohawk. They've got several artists and piercing specialists on staff and from the work I've seen in each of their portfolios - it's amazing (especially Evel, that woman can ink!!) They jumped into the Passport to Port Credit promotion and offered piercings for a steal ($20 a pop) so I decided if anything was getting done anywhere it was here - I felt totally comfortable here. Rolled in today, at my appointment time and was walked through all the things I needed to know, should expect and had my sketchy nerves laughed at (which helped surprisingly since I was being such a wimp). After a short while I was taken in back and within moments, BOOM, I've got some new metal to show off (located on my delicate little schnozz). I sit here, nose still a touch sore, but man does it look cool! Like I feel like I did when I was 16 and sneakily got my nipple and cartilage done - such a rebel! I'm thrilled with the work that was done and the post piercing care explanations and when I decide to get my next piece of ink done, it will ONLY be with Evel and only at this shop! Thanks all!

The front desk was attentive and friendly (Brett). Once I explained what I was looking for (script on forearm) they pointed me to a website to get an idea of font choice and booked me in for a consultation. When I came in for the consultation, I met with Hailey. We went over the process, what to expect, pre and post care and she discussed what I was looking for. Once she answered all of my questions, we booked the next appointment for the tattoo. When the day came to get my tattoo I showed up as scheduled and Hailey presented me with a few options to make sure I was happy with what I wanted. Once I finalized what I was going with she did a printout on transferable paper and positioned it on my arm. She had me look in the mirror, moving my arm in all different positions to make sure I was happy. She caught something that she wasn't happy with so we adjusted it. Then the tattoo was applied without any issues. Afterwards she covered it up, went through the after care again and sent me on my way. As I've never had one, didn't know what to expect, etc. Hailey was awesome! I really like the fact that she presented me with a few different ideas, her input on placement, etc. Not sure if that is standard, but because I was so happy with the first tattoo, I got a second a few weeks later through Hailey. I would definitely recommend Good Point Tattoos to anyone looking for some ink! The whole process was amazing!
