Please do your research and go somewhere else! From the outside this shop seems great. But after a few sessions you see the mess that goes on in there. They talk badly about their clients and are more concerned about their personal relationships. I had 8 sessions with Ryvn. A tattoo that would've normally taken half the time. Yes, the tattoo is large and was a cover up from laser removal. But, 30+ hours to be only half done is just taking advantage. I would've needed at least 15 more hours to complete this. Every time I would ask Ryan when we would finish she would said "I'm hoping to finish by next session". In reality, 3 more would go by. She canceled last minute for one appointment and was never ready to start at the scheduled time. After the first sketch, she would never send me the updated plans for our next appointment. This happened every. Single. time. I asked for black skin on my mermaid and got PINK. I asked for a green tail on my mermaid and rounded half circle scales and got a diamond shaped BLUE tail. I asked for a very specific octopus and got the complete opposite. I said no red and you guessed it. It's red. I would consistently ask her for a certain colour and tell her what I didn't like but she would completely disregard that. If I sent her a message I would get either no response or a response after days. They knew what I wanted and the things I had previously gone through but instead of recommending an artist that could fulfil my request, they recommended who they liked in the shop. I tried to talk to Memphis about the situation and was offered nothing besides my unused deposit. She didn't want to hear about all the things I had experienced. She talked to Ryvn and decided her side was the only one worth hearing. When people trust you with their bodies, you do your best. And when mistakes happens(it's ok that they do) you do what you can to fix it. IG is not a professional place to discuss an issue btw. Lies on their website about offering free tattoo removal for hate symbols or traumatic tattoos. Didn't bother confirming before the appointment that that's what it was for. Wasted 6 hours traveling there and back only to be told they wouldn't help. read more

What a stunning studio! I got a piercing here and, despite the wait, was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating and friendly everyone was. Crystal is fantastic. She went through EVERY step of the process when piercing me and was very thorough in making sure I understood what she would be doing and what to expect. The wait was simply due to her having to care for some other customers that came in early or showed up for their appointments and she had to tend to them. I enjoyed a chat with a mother and daughter upstairs who were there for the daughter getting the same piercing as myself. It was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back for my next piercing and looking into tattoos in the future. read more

I absolutely love Grim City and have been coming back for piercings and tattoos for over a year now. Stunning quality of service every single time, professional and knowledgeable staff, very clean, wonderful atmosphere and overall a very kind group of people. I absolutely have to give an honourable mention to Ashley, whom I have been pierced by twice and who also helped me with some issues I had with my nose ring. She's super helpful and kind and always knows exactly what to do. Grim City is definitely one of the best tattoo parlours I've ever been to. Ruined my arm. And the person that to tattooed me clearly had no experience and the Ink bled in my arm and it looks like somebody wiped ink on my arm and it's stuck like that. Also The parts where he did the lines he went way too deep and the ink bled and sometimes the lines are raised skin. It's been years since and it's a huge regret going here. If you have money to waste and skin to rune suit yourself. At least 4 inches by 2 inches of bleeding Ink. Horrible. After it was done I was upset the way it came out. read more

I can honestly say I've never taken the time to write a negative review about a business but this place warranted an exception. I had contacted one of their artists on Instagram and asked if he would be interested in the idea I had for a tattoo, and we decided to meet at the shop for a consultation. After the consultation I decided to go ahead and book an appointment with him 2 months in advance, and made a $400 deposit. A week later I called and asked if I could cancel my appointment and have my deposit refunded due to some extenuating circumstances. They said they do not refund deposits. I explained to them that it was one of those weeks where everything was going wrong and that the reason I was asking for my deposit back was so that I could have enough money to put gas in my car so that I could say goodbye to my grandma who was in the hospital dying. Without even missing a beat they said "Nope! We don't refund deposits." They said that on their website it states deposits are nonrefundable. I tried to explain that because I had connected with the artist on social media I never read that on the website, and that wasn't disclosed to me in person before I made the deposit. It was at this point that they hung up on me. I'd like to emphasize that I was not being "a Karen" about it, and was more than respectful despite the blatant disrespect and lack of compassion on their end. Needless to say I highly recommend getting a tattoo at literally any other studio. You never know when life is going to go wrong and the lack of human decency here is so off putting, not to mention on top of whatever else you may be dealing with, your out a lot of money. Industry standard is to refund deposits as long as a respectful amount of notice is given before cancellation. I never had any reason to expect that this shop would be any different, and the fact that they didn't let me know before taking my deposit is pretty shady. The whole point of a deposit is to ensure that people are respectful of the artists time and don't "no show" for their appointments. I think canceling 2 months in advance is more than courteous, as it would allow more than enough time for the artist to rebook and therefore insisting on keeping my money is clearly just not the right thing to do. Ultimately unless your willing to deal with a high degree of disrespect and unprofessionalism, and a nonrefundable deposit I recommend going to another studio. read more

I went to get my nose pierced here about a year ago now. The staff was dismissive at best. My nose is now pierced on a downward angle which has been an issue for jewellery. Also pierced too far into my nose so I cannot put any hoop in. Finally, no aftercare instructions were provided. This was fine since it wasn't my first piercing but really should be provided every time regardless of how many piercings someone has. I would not return to this place for anything in future. read more

Recently went here randomly because there was no piercer in on a Monday at any other place in Hamilton, but they do piercings here every day!! Big thumbs up for that, thank you guys! They did jewelry changes and a nose ring for me and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly! The place is very clean and I will definitely be back in the future read more

I've been tattooed by saro a few times and he's wonderful. I'm not terribly happy with management but Saro is worth the trip.
