We had some special requests to include some unique memorial cards and they came through. My dad who is a veteran was able to have a veterans honor which they did all the leg work setting that up and having current veterans there to present my mom with a flag. They had a beautiful video tribute with photos for my dad. And the best gift of all was how they prepared my father. He had been in the nursing home for the last two years but when we saw his body at the funeral home, he looked amazing. They had taken 5-7 years off of him and he looked natural, the way we remembered him and wanted to remember him. It was the best gift and blessing we could ask for. Thank you so much to Theis Gorski crew for the amazing job.

To simply say they "handled the arrangements" would be a great injustice to the exceptional care and compassion we received. From the very first moment, Ms. Alvarez distinguished herself and her home from any other we have dealt with in the past. Where others felt transactional, she was deeply personal. She did not just see us as clients, but as a grieving family in need of guidance and support. Her patience, empathy, and genuine kindness were a steady comfort during the most difficult days of our lives. Ms. Alvarez took the time to listen--truly listen--to our stories, our wishes, and our worries. She helped us navigate every decision with grace, offering gentle suggestions while always honoring our desires. She removed the overwhelming burden of logistics and allowed us the space to simply be together and grieve. The personal touches and attention to detail made all the difference, creating a service that was a beautiful and authentic reflection of our loved one's life. What sets Alvarez Funeral Home apart is this heartfelt, human-centered approach. Ms. Alvarez and her entire staff provide more than a service; they provide a sanctuary of understanding and respect. They walked beside us, never ahead of us. To anyone facing the unimaginable, we cannot recommend Alvarez Funeral Home highly enough. Thank you, Ms. Alvarez, and to your wonderful staff, for your invaluable help and for treating our family with such dignity during our most difficult time. Your compassion made all the difference.

The interior was clean and beautiful. The walls, lighting, ceiling, etc was lovely. It is somewhat narrow but long, so it's not ideal for a large wake, but it's ok for 80-100(my estimate). There is a bathroom for each gentlemen/ladies that seemed to be clean. They had mints, water, and tissue boxes everywhere. They brought out more chairs to accommodate the large amount of people that showed up to my friend's wake. And then, on top of that, they have a downstairs area that has seating, dining tables, and a kitchenette. So after the wake, everyone went downstairs and had refreshments. It was very lovely.

My wife received the call about her brother's demise at 3:00AM from the Chicago police department. We live out-of-state and following the direction of the police to call a funeral home was overwhelming not knowing of any funeral homes. I won't go into detail about my first attempt in complying with the police request. It was dreadful and useless. The next attempt was a call to Casey Rios and Brian Koskiewicz answered the phone, it was 3:30 AM now. Brian immediately relieved our concerns and gave guidance, explained the process and committed to working with the police, county coroner and our family. Thank you, Brian! Upon our arrival at Casey Rios Funeral Home in Chicago, Hilda Rios and Leandra Lee couldn't have been more understanding and helpful. They were available around-the-clock to provide answers to all our questions. Every detail facilitating the arrangements unfolded in compliance with the state rules, in agreeable, compassionate conversations. Leandra went out of her way to get the necessary documents ahead of the normal processing time, knowing we had limited days to complete the activity. Our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude is offered to all, during our time of grief.

The antiquated look is gone, and I was pleasantly surprised that it had been upgraded. I mean, come on, funeral homes can be dark and not the type of place you would consider beautiful, but I will say it has been upgraded all the way. From the entrance all the way to the backdrop of where your loved one will be resting for viewing purposes. Even the cafeteria is upgraded and bright. Something that was needed for many years. My coworker was waked here, and it was a beautiful service in so many ways. Although a sad occasion, the fact that they could make it so beautiful made it the right place for her family to bring her last days on earth to be seen in. I am highly impressed with what was done here. Although my workers and I came for a somber moment, we are grateful once again and for having so much parking in the yard and across the street.
