Thalio did my makeup a while back for a big wedding I attended. He did an absolutely gorgeous job with my makeup. I did see some negative reviews, and I'm honestly surprised that people wrote about his or his assistants' attitude - I had no issues whatsoever. He is a very busy man and understandably so because he is one of the absolute best in Houston. When he finished my makeup, my mom said, "Now THATS a makeup ARTIST." His makeup photographs BEAUTIFULLY. All my pics from that night look good from every angle because of him! I personally loved his personality - professional but friendly and funny. He was on time, fast, and his work is just beautiful!!!! (And so is his flawless face.) I'm getting married in the summer, and I wish I could take him with me to my destination wedding!!! read more

I am kind of shocked by the bad reviews. I LOVED Thalio and his team! They did an amazing job and were super professional with me and my party of 12 for my wedding day! They were on time and did all of our hair and makeup PERFECTLY! The communication from the get go was through email, but it wasn't a problem for me since I work a lot and this was really the best way to communicate for me while planning a wedding. I'm pretty hard to please and so is my mother and we were both VERY impressed. Two years ago, my coworker came in to work looking amazing with a gorgeous tan. I asked her who she went to and she gave me Thalio's card. I was a little nervous at first having someone come over to my place and tan me. But after meeting Thalio, all my worries were gone. He is extremely professional and does not make you feel uncomfortable at all. I've gotten about 15 spray tans from him and he has done an amazing job every time. Thalio is also very flexible. I needed an "emergency" spray tan and called him immediately. He came over the same day I called him! Customer service is everything. (Note: You'll get the best results if you schedule your spray tan 24-48 hours before your actual event or when to be looking your best.) He also did makeup for my coworker's bridal shoot and she looked stunning in her photos. I showed her to my other friend who is getting married in the fall, and she has also booked Thalio. Thalio charges $40 for each spray tan and it usually lasts 5-7 days as long as you don't scrub in the shower. read more

I am in LOVE with the work Thalio and his team provide. I went to Thalio for a couple of occasions like Bridal shoots, Bridal shower, a couple of trials and of course the day of my wedding and his work was AMAZING!!! He will adjust your makeup according to the event and will not leave you looking like someone else. (That was very important for my husband. He wanted me to still look like myself.) Once my makeup was done, I could not stop taking selfies and looking at myself. He truly makes you feel beautiful and like he says, putting makeup on is only a better version of us. I had contacted Thalio about my daughters wedding. Communication was very poor, took weeks for response. Sent me the contract and told me (via email) to mail in the $$ per the contract to book. I asked if someone could call me, as I had some questions. Thalio actually replied that they don't give out phone numbers, and all communication needed to be via email. Like Hannah R, I desperately wanted to use Thalio and his team for my wedding, but lack of communication forced me to listen to my gut and go elsewhere. I initially contacted him via his website inquiring as to the specifics of "holiday fees" and the amount it would cost if such incurred. My wedding is on Labor Day weekend. All of the other artists I had spoken with did not add on additional holiday fees as they did not consider Labor Day weekend a holiday/holiday weekend. Since I REALLY hoped to use Thalio, I wanted to ensure it wouldn't cost me an additional $200 bucks (on top of the $300 initial cost) to do so. After roughly 3-4 days of waiting, I received an automated response (questions not answered). Soooo, I responded with the same initial concerns both via email and through his FB page. I finally heard back via email after 6 more days of waiting. His response was short, unprofessional (grammar), impersonal, and above all, failed to answer my questions clearly. This is the email I received: "Our Holidays are base on city holiday and federal holidays". That's it. One sentence. That tells me nothing. That doesn't tell me if August 30, which happens to fall on Labor Day weekend, is a city or federal holiday. Should I google that and make my own inference? It doesn't tell me if I will have to fork out more money to hire you, nor does it tell me how much. $50? $300? Most importantly, it doesn't tell me you care about your potential clients. Broken-hearted and unhappy, I moved on. Thalio is amazing in what he does, so perhaps he can afford to be impersonal with new clients. I understand this is a business and things are chaotic, but taking the time out to make someone feel like you actually care about them, in particular, a bride-to-be, is really the first step in running a business successfully. Your skills are secondary to this. Every other single make-up artist I spoke with via email went above and beyond to make me feel as if I were already a client and as if I was equally as important as the next bride. Sadly, in the one email he exchanged, I did not feel this way with Thalio. I gave 2 stars as opposed to 1 solely because of his skill. I ended up going with JN Co. Makeup (no yelp reviews but tons of Knot and Wedding Wire if you are interested). She was very sweet, professional and thorough in communication. read more

Erica did my make-up and hair for my engagement photos and my wedding. She really did a phenomenal job and the makeup lasted the entire day - No complaints at all! We also had Abigail do hair and Liz do makeup. Again, their work is flawless. At the reception, one of my cousins told my mom that she had no idea that her eyes were blue - the makeup really made her eyes pop! Wow! Unfortunately, communication is not Thalio's strong suit. Don't expect to get an email response within a reasonable time frame or a phone call until you book. I am a customer who really loves your work, but PLEASE, PLEASE hire an assistant/receptionist. I understand you're busy, and this is a second job for you. Trust me when I say, this should be your only job and you'll make plenty of money at it, but hire some help!!! You'd make back everything you paid for an assistant and more just by having someone handle the scheduling/random questions/payments. I really hate to give this 3 stars, but the delay and lack of communication really disappoints (otherwise, I'd have given 5 stars for makeup and hair). read more

I used Thalio Beckham's team for my wedding and it was the best decision I made. I was blessed to have Jessica Garza do my wedding makeup. She is awesome. She is creative and very skilled. She was able to transform me into my dream wedding look the day of. She listens and offers her own ideas. I have never worn makeup and had no plans to do so for our wedding, but my husband insisted, and we couldn't have made a better choice than Thalio and his staff. They came to our hotel and couldn't have made the experience any more pleasant. They made our already gorgeous 4 year old goddaughter into even more of a princess--she loved every minute of it! My husband (who loves makeup) was in heaven, too, and didn't want the pampering to end. I even have to admit that the light dusting I received (at my wish!) improved my 51 year old face considerably! Thalio and his staff are tremendous professionals (and all cute as hell), and I can't recommend any makeup artist more highly. He's very attentive to details and also receptive to feedback. He and his team are very easy to work with, and they work fast! My makeup lasted all night. Thalio and his crew did the hair and make-up for my daughter's wedding a couple weeks ago. Thalio personally did an amazing job on the bride. She looked stunning. That being said, the other make-up artists were slow and virtually no one was happy with their make-up. Most of us ended up re-doing it to some degree. Because the make-up staff took so long, we ended up starting the wedding 15 minutes late. If I had it to do over, I would not hire Thalio's crew. Definitely not worth the cost for the entire bridal party regarding make-up. I highly recommend laying down some very strict parameters if you plan to use this company for a wedding. read more

I had used Thalios colleague Raul for several occasion's he is AMMMMAZING..Raul unfortunately moved , and recommended Thalio. Thailo did my makeup twice for events I had in Houston, at my hotel. He was always on time and did a good job. He did however take a VERY long time to do..over an hour. But As his prices were good and he did airbrush well, I contacted him to do my makeup for a VERY important charity Gala at River Oaks Country club. He was also hired to do my friends hair and makeup with his assistant. He texts me 5 minutes before his appointment time saying his assistant is MIA, and he is just leaving downtown,which was at least 30 minutes in rush hour traffic. I had zero time for him to be late as he takes so long to do my makeup. I tell him I'm freaking out and didn't even bring my makeup from home,,and he then texts me that he doesn't like my attitude,and that hes not going to come at all...I was completely SHOCKED. I THEN HAD TO RUN TO WALGREENS and buy makeup and do my friends HAIR AND makeup and mine in 1 hour before my event. I had recommended Thalio numerous times and have always supported him as I am also in the beauty industry. This is NOT a professional. I am very disappointed in the lack of service & communication I received from Thalio & his company. I got on wedding wire & yelp & read all of his amazing reviews, & looked over his website. His work looked amazing. So I contacted him via email stating I would love to use him for hair/makeup & to see if he had my date available. I never heard from him! So I emailed him again & called as well. Still nothing! Also I found it to be extremely unprofessional to not have a message on your voicemail. I don't know how these brides actually got in contact with this man. It seems to be impossible! I'm wondering if some of the reviews are fake? Every vendor I have had for my wedding has gotten back to me within 48 hours, however it's usually 24. I am so dissapointed because I was looking forward to using him.
