Kristi is the absolute best!!! She is such a talented hair and makeup artist and made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. I had so much fun and felt so heard at my trial - I love makeup and can be picky about it, and Kristi genuinely listened to my preferences and feedback and asked many questions to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. Conversely, I know little to nothing about hair, gave her a general aesthetic I wanted to go with, and let her run with it - she crushed it! I felt so confident and glowy, and she replicated the look perfectly on my actual wedding day. She and Jessica pampered my bridesmaids, officiant, MOB and MOG as well - we had a group with many different skin tones, facial features, and hair textures. A concern I had when booking HMUA was finding artists who knew how to work with diverse clients and accentuate everyone's unique features, and they did such an amazing job. All my girls gushed about how beautiful and comfortable they felt! The gifted lipstick for me and lipstick samples (for touch-ups) for the rest of the party was such a sweet thought and so appreciated as well. If I can save a bride the trouble I've had to go through with Adorne Artistry by posting this review, then great. Adorne Artistry, specifically Jessica and JJ, have been absolutely terrible and completely unprofessional. I signed a contract with them in early February, well before Covid-19, for hair and make up services for myself, my mom, and 5 bridesmaids, for a total of $1440. I paid the deposit and a few months later I heard from JJ that they would be scheduling another wedding on 9/19, because the bride had to reschedule her date. Totally understandable, given the circumstances. My fiancé and I were fully planning to go forward with our event, until the second wave of the pandemic hit mid-June, and by beginning of July, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our original wedding and proceed with a very small ceremony. The rest of our vendors let us out of our contracts (some contracts as high as $35,000 minimum) and worked with us to use the deposits we paid towards our ceremony, but Adorne Artistry not only refused to cancel the contract for the services we no longer needed, they went ahead and charged my debit card that I used for the deposit to pay themselves. Then they told me that they couldn't fit in all the services that I had already paid for because they had another bride on 9/19 (the bride they rescheduled after my wedding was already scheduled with them). Additionally, they aren't even letting me use the remainder of my credits for other services, except for the week before my wedding, which I don't have any time for. I have more than $640 in credits that I should be able to use, but according to JJ, they only calculated $175 in credits, which is absolutely incorrect. They're refusing to refund me the money, while at the same time refusing to let me utilize the money I paid for future credits. I would also like to mention that my fiancé and I are both healthcare workers and have been working non-stop throughout this pandemic, putting our health on the line every day. On top of the added stress that we are already experiencing at work and with having to scrap our original wedding plans, it's vendors like Adorne Artistry who have made this all so much more difficult for me. read more

The owner Jessica is unprofessional and shows no compassion when you have outdoor pictures and it's going to rain. We try to reschedule the appointment within 20 hours of the 24 hour cancellation. She still wanted to charge us which we will refuse and showed no compassion that the office was closed and I had no way of contacting them other than email. Stay away from this company. There are many out there who have better customer service. read more

Worked with Adorne for my wedding makeup and the whole team was fantastic. JJ made scheduling a breeze and Shelby who did my personal makeup (trial, rehearsal and day of) couldn't have been lovelier. She's incredibly talented, attentive and made me feel very at ease. Kailee and Kyndal who worked on my bridal party were awesome too - overall great energy and they worked quickly without sacrificing quality. Trial: I went to her studio for a hair trial and the electricity went out 2/3 of the way through it. We had just started the airbrushing trial. We had to wait a bit for it to come back on. I am surprised she didn't offer for me to come back for a free trial during the outage. She said that I would have to pay for another $85 trial. I thought this was unprofessional of her. The outage wasn't my fault and it was on my time which she didn't compensate me for. After my make up trial, I had random bumps on my face from the make up, which she had to redo. I've had my make up done over 100 times and this has never happened before. Day of wedding make up: My hair didn't hold which was disappointing. It held up during the trial..so there's something she did or didn't do. Also, when she did my eyebrows, they were obviously not symmetrical. My bridesmaids and I had to tell her where they were not symmetrical and she spent over 10 minutes fixing them. She is one of the cheapest options out there for hair and makeup. I regret using her and do not recommend her services. Out of all my vendors, she was the worst. I give my other vendors 5 stars. I do not feel like she 'cared' about making my day perfect like ALL my other vendors did. ------------------------------------------------------------- Response to Jessica on 11/2: Wow Jessica. A lot of what you said was not true. 1. You asked me to pay $85 for a trial run. I really didn't want to pay you anymore than I already had so (i had booked my bridemaids with her too before the trial) 2. The lights went out for more than 10 minutes. 3. I did express some of my concerns to you and you responded to some of them reasons and excuses but did not mend the initial issue. 4. I didn't even go into detail about how you really messed up my eyebrows and it took a few bridesmaids to tell you what what wrong with them when it was completely obvious. 5. As for me rescheduling the location, I rescheduled it once. I did tell you before we met up for a trial run that i wasn't sure about having my day of h/m done either at your site or at my apartment. I told you what I was debating between I guess you saw that as me "changing my location several times." After I went to your location for the trial, I decided to have it at my apartment. 6. You are right, i did have people do hair only and 3 ppl do hair and make up. This back and forth would have been fixed if we had discussed this over the phone and I understood why you could only do h/m at certain times and certain slots- which we finally did. On my wedding day, my hair didn't keep and it was falling apart at the ceremony right when we were taking pictures.. at 2p. We had just finished at around 11am. The makeup was finally decent after my bridesmaids spent alot of time telling you where my eyebrows needed to be fixed when you thought it looked okay. It was my wedding day. Jessica did our makeup for my brother's wedding a little over a month ago. His now wife treated her bridesmaids to hair and makeup. Jessica was very sweet, professional, and most importantly - talented. she even talked each of us into wearing fake eyelashes. ow ow. I made sure she went with a more natural look for me, but some of the others played more with colors. bottom line - she was awesome! we went to her townhouse, which she has very nicely set up like a studio and sells hair accessories out of as well. She said she mostly goes to locations to do makeup. She also did my sister-in-law's hair, which was fabulous as well. For our hair, she had her friend come to her studio to pretty our locks. all around good experience and I felt pretty, oh so pretty. and that is all that matters. :) read more

I worked with Stephanie for our wedding. I had a few changes after my trial run and was nervous to make changes the day of the wedding, but my hair and makeup turned out beautifully! This place holds no ethical values or professionalism what so ever! My cousin was set to have her wedding in March in which I decided to gift her with a bridal package of makeup and hair, when unfortunately the state of Texas had to be shut down due to the pandemic, which NO ONE had any control over. The wedding was forced to be cancelled and this place would not give my money back since it was against their ridiculous cancellation policy that stated nothing about what would happen in the event of a pandemic!! The couple decided to marry without any guests since there was no promise of when things would get better, and still not worth paying $510 for hair and makeup that no else gets to see!! The manager decided to comment that all her artists were going to be out of work 3 months due to current pandemic and felt that she was entitled to keep every bit of my hard earned money without any service that they will never get to provide!! I get that businesses all over the world are suffering because of this unprecedented time but this situation gives no right for this company to advantage of innocent people and keep my money for a service they can not and will not ever provide. Don't waste your time or money supporting this business.Sad thing is myself and a few of my friends I referred had our bridal hair and makeup done by this place. I had the chance f having their service for the bridal hair and makeup. Great in the communication from the beginning. Erika was my artist: a very professional and sweet lady, who understands the stress of "how I would look like" and more importantly, asks what I like and helped to reach that! She had very easy-going character and indeed, I enjoyed our conversation during the process. I was very Happy with the outcome, classic hair and natural make-up which all only took about 2 hours. Now that I see my photos from that day, I feel lucky as these photos are lasting forever and I look like just myself there :)) One surprise: I received a hand-written thank you postcard from them afterwards! I am a bridesmaid and I regret paying a ridiculous amount to get my hair and makeup done. Should have saved my money and do it myself. Initially I thought the makeup artist was friendly. She was asking tons of questions, I expected her to know what looks best I was wrong. I don't have big eyes and she made them smaller. I had excess makeup under my eyes as well. I asked for a darker base on my eyelids after realizing I wasn't satisfied and she pretty much brushed me off and said she would fix it if there was time. Seriously? It takes 1 second to add some damn eyeshadow. Even the hair stylist knew what I wanted and had to explain to her. I do not like how my eye makeup turned out in my pictures either. I liked my hair, but disappointed I left unhappy and not entirely satisfied especially after paying more than I wanted. read more

I hired Adorne Artistry for my bridal hair and makeup for my wedding several months ago. I will start with the positive...the make up was great. I really liked the look and all (well almost all) of my bridesmaids loved their make up. Lashes and air brush was included in the cost which I was happy with. My make up did last, I just wish I would have freshened it up before going to the reception! Only negative is my maid of honor hated her make up and went home to completely wash it off and re-do it herself. Now hair is a different story. Jessica's expertise is just NOT hair. I was unhappy at my trial and I emailed her to let her know I hated the style after living with it for a couple hours. My husband-to-be HATED it too. He said it looked like a rat's nest on my head. She did not offer to do another trial free of charge. I would have to come back and pay $50 for a re-trial. When you are already spending over $300 for hair and makeup and you aren't happy charging for a re-trial is ridiculous. I took my chances and did not do a second trial. My hair on my wedding day was just OK. When I look at pictures, I was not impressed with the style of it and I really regret having used her. She has some really cool hair pieces which are all very expensive. I did buy one and if it wasn't for that I would not have even looked like I was the bride. I also felt like she cut it too close to the time I needed to be ready on my wedding day! She spent so much time on the other girls bc they did not really like their hair either. Jessica had to keep playing with their style to make them happy and it left very little time for me. A couple of the girls had short hair and I felt so bad that they paid for a style when it would have looked better had they done it themselves. So overall lesson here, use Adorne just for your makeup and if you use them for your hair don't set your expectations too high! read more

My sisters and I just did a shoot and our photographer decided to use Adorne Artistry. Jessica executed our hair and make up amazingly. I have used other professional make up artists in the past, and she is leaps and bounds ahead of them in professionalism and talent. Not only that, but she was incredibly nice and warm as a person. You cannot help but feel comfortable in her studio. I wish I would have known about her earlier! She was also able to change our hairstyles and make up on scene and did a great job of touching up when needed. Did I mention she makes BEAUTIFUL wedding hair pieces? I am not one to usually write a review but I felt the need to say what an amazing group of girls this is!! I can't believe some of the negative reviews I read. We just had Jennifer and Kristi come to a hotel to do our hair and makeup over the weekend, they went above and beyond for us!! They did an amazing job on everyone, and when we asked to make changes or tweaks to our hair ( updos) they did so without hesitation. We felt extremely comfortable telling them what we loved and didn't love so much and they were so great about making sure we were happy with everything! I even had a friend go to visible changes to have her hair done for the same event, well they butchered her hair! She looked like a mess! The girls saw a picture she sent me, and then told me to call her and have her stop by the hotel and they'd fix it for her!!!! What?!!! I couldn't believe how sweet they were! And they did! They didn't even charge her b/c she had just paid visible changes! She looked amazing! Oh and not to mention the impromptu shave they gave one our guy friends that stopped by!!! Like I said these two girls went above and beyond for our group!!! I will recommend them to everyone for everything! Also the owner, Jessica was so sweet and available the weeks before. I found Adorne Artistry through Carlea J Photography. Let me just say that they are wonderful. Their salon is in an apartment complex, which I first thought was a little weird, but once you step inside, it's like stepping into a first-rate salon. They did my hair and makeup for my bridals superbly and then recreated the look for the wedding day. They were also very talented when it came to my bridesmaids. I keep getting compliments on my updo and makeup! You get a free lipstick, fake eyelashes, and touch-up kit every time. Oh, and they let you bring your iPod if you want your own music. Or they have Apple TV if you want them to play DJ. Also, you can bring food and wine to munch on while you get pampered. I highly recommend Adorne. read more
