I came to Jentry Kelley today for a scheduled Makeup consultation appointment that is free for all teachers from June 17th until June 22nd from an instagram ad I saw in the morning. When I first came in, I was greeted and waited for my 11 AM consultation. Once 11 struck, I met Codi and she asked me what was I looking for. I explained to her that I typically don't have time for makeup and would like to have a routine that would be quick and effortless when I am on the go. She quickly got to work, explained to me each product she used, how to use it, and the placement of the product. Not like the ones in California or New York City for example. They do a great job and some of the makeup styles in particular look incredibly sexy and popping and adiant. If you're bad at doing your own makeup this is a great option for you. In my opinion Barbie does hers professionally, but once in awhile she likes to get hers done by someone else and splash out, and this is one of the great options near our house. read more

Jentry was recommended by our wedding planner and we were thrilled to contract with her for our wedding event. Jentry was kind and personable when we first met her and we really liked the photos posted of her make up services. However, we ran into significant issues when Jentry required a deposit for the make up trial (8 months in advance) and there were questions about whether the credit card being used was consistent with the bride's name. Apparently, Jentry uses some machiavellian software for her business that shuts down if the credit card information she inputs does not match the information for the name entered for the make up trial reservation. Efforts to assuage her (such as using the credit card holder's name for the reservation to ensure no difficulties) were unsuccessful. This led to multiple phone calls to the bride, bride's mother and wedding planner, as well as multiple messages from Friday to Sunday, each increasing in intensity and panic. In the end, Jentry herself contacted our financial institution and found out that the credit card being used would also reflect the bride's name (which Jentry did not believe would be the case), without consulting us before checking with our financial institution. Jentry's intense, over the top reaction gave us much pause. Ultimately, we decided to abandon our deposit, end our contract and find a different make up/hair artist for the wedding (Hey Lovely), as Jentry's emotional reaction was definitely not welcome at our event. Despite the fact that the contract was broken as a result of Jentry's behavior, she did not offer to refund our deposit. Ultimately, forfeiting the deposit was well worth it to not have her anxiety/panic present on the wedding day. read more

After watching my two sisters' private lesson with a JKC team member, I scheduled a session at the main studio. I have had makeovers before where I liked the look but had no idea how to recreate the look on my own. This session was so different. My consultant took the time to show me the techniques to create the "Cute in the Carpool" look and how to turn that into a more sophisticated look. Although I am still practicing the tightlining, I have been able to recreate both looks and have received many compliments. Her makeup products are high quality and last all day. I will definitely continue to use her makeup and intend to buy more. My one suggestion is to try her sample sizes of skincare before purchasing the larger size, especially if you have sensitive eyes. I booked a lesson to learn the basics of applying make up and contouring etc as I am not a massive makeup user and don't really understand why use a primer and powder and the after powder etc there's just so much stuff nowadays! Don't expect to be sitting in front of a mirror like at the hair salon, you will sit on a stool by the door in a glass walls studio and it will go so fast it will feel almost expedited. Don't get me wrong the studio is nice just zero privacy. And the "lesson" was really just observing a professional do your makeup. It felt timed so no discussion or lengthy explanation.. It wasn't bad but I can't say it was good either. The makeup itself wasn't impressive, traditional if I have to describe it. I noticed this business while driving by and had to stop to see what it is all about. I've been late getting my Botox done and wanted to see the space and schedule an appointment. When I walked in everyone ignored me. I had to interrupt staff chatting with each other to ask for their help. They did apologize and offered a makeup touch up which I thought was lovely.
