I'm so glad that I chose Coco as my makeup artist for my pre-wedding photoshoot. The photoshoot got canceled like 4 times because of the weather and my photographer's schedule. I first met the amazing COCO two years ago as a Maid of Honor for my sister's wedding. At that time, I loved the make-up that she did for the bridesmaids, and especially LOVED the airbrush make-up she did for my sister. She also got to wear these really cute Hello Kitty ears! Coco did my makeup and hair for my wedding this June and she did a fantastic job! Pricing I believe is fairly standard for such services, but the quality of the work is definitely worth it! Trial: As an initial step, I scheduled a trial with her a few months in advance from my wedding - she came to my apartment, first listened to what general ideas/pictures I had for the wedding makeup and hair, and then created a beautiful up-do and two makeup styles on me (one more natural-looking and one more dramatic on the two sides of my face to contrast the difference). I choose the more dramatic makeup style with airbrush makeup, as she suggested it would look more polished in wedding photos. I also have a scar on my neck that Coco covered up well with the airbrush makeup - almost unnoticeable afterwards. Wedding Day: Coco and her assistant arrived 20 minutes early to make sure everything was not rushed and done nicely. Services booked with Coco: -hair and make up trial (bride) -wedding day hair and make up (bride & 5 bridesmaids) For the trial, I showed Coco a few looks that I found on Pinterest. I also told her my skin and hair concerns. I liked the make up; she did a great job concealing and evening out my skin tone and eye lids. However, it was a little too plain compared to what I showed her - basic smokey eye and no contouring (not noticeable anyway). To remedy this, I chose a more dramatic reference photo for the wedding day and made sure she understood what I wanted in my look. I loved the hair though!! She curled my hair and pinned it into a dreamy loose, low bun. She even took photos of the look as a reminder for herself on my wedding day. After a disappointing trial set up with a different make-up artist, I was worried that I would have to settle with what I have & go either with me doing my own make-up & hair, since I didn't trust or didn't find anyone to do it. I was desperate to find someone who would make me feel 100% satisfied with my wedding look & would make me feel at ease & relaxed on my WD. I turned to yelp in finding that person who could take the charge & be creative. I set-up a trial with Coco, 3 weeks prior to my WD. On the day of our trial I was very hesitant and worried that I would not only be disappointed again but also waste more $. But, not only I was amazed by her work but also felt like finally I could relax and enjoy this time before WD. She listened to what I liked, & addressed my concerns since I couldn't decide on whether I should have my hair up or down, bc I have long neck and didn't want to look too skinny with my hair up. So she suggested that she would create two looks for my make-up (left eye-natural & right eye -dramatic) with airbrush makeup. As for my hair she suggested that she would do my hair up on the day of the trial, since it was very hot and humid and plus that if I decided to go with my hair down on the WD, it was always easier to create a curly wave look than an up-do. So, she created an up-do that incorporated a braid with a side twist to the side of my head that took away attention from my long neck and skinny silhouette. When she finished, I was absolutely in love with my hair and make-up & could only imagine how much more beautiful it will look on my WD, since this was only a trial. On my WD, Coco arrived promptly on time and recreated the look, but had to make a few adjustments, such as my bangs got longer so she made a soft split on the left side so that I could see without my hair getting in my eyes. I liked my hair even more, than with straight bangs. Also, in the morning I had a huge painful pimple on my right cheek, so Coco did a good job at covering it ;) (nobody noticed that I even had it) & more importantly it didn't show the whole day. After, she finished, she showed my mom how to pin up my veil and how to remove it. Also, she showed how to add a flower to my hair for the reception since I was changing into a different dress. I was so lucky to have coco do my hair and makeup, as well as for my bridesmaids, for my wedding. She is truly talented and def knows what she is doing. She can work with all types of faces, hair and styles. I'm not a girl who likes to wears a lot of make up and she was able to give me that natural and glowing look during my special day. As for my bridesmaid, they're makeup fanatics and they said coco did such a wonderful job! She really listens to what you want and is not stuck up at all, like many makeup artists are. She's also very flexible and will travel to wherever you are to provide the service. She is extremely professional and very funny too. I highly recommend her. If you have any special or major events, you better make an appointment with her ASAP, her appointments fill up fast! I need to rave highly of Coco. I contact her via e-mail to get a quote and some insights into how she does makeup. She was very responsive. After a trial run, I decided to go with her because she listened to what i wanted. Of course she provided her insights as well but wasn't pushy.
