I made my own bowl. The ingredients are fresh and everything is flavorful. Great customer service as well. Brisket was my proforma choice.

We were quite hungry…read moreafter the game, so we ended up walking a little bit farther from the Stadium to avoid the crowd and ended up in Capitol Hill. We wanted to get Mexican but sit down type of place with homey food after a long day! That's how we found this place! We saw a lot of people eating outside, thought that place must be very popular in Capitol Hill, the inside was a less busy and quieter so we stayed! The decor is very colorful and festive! The bar area had lots of hard liquors from Central America and Mexico. It's a mix of Salvadorean and Mexican food owned by a family, everyone was very attentive and kind, re-filling our water and sodas, as well as bringing chips and salsa every time my partner and I gorged them hahah. The food was nothing too outstanding, since we both had the enchiladas (which to be quite honest, took a lot to be prepared, that's why I'm giving them a 3.5) I ordered the Seafood Enchiladas, which came with red sauce, lots of shrimp and scallops, the rice was surprisingly very flavorful (maybe cooked with some stock or magi cubes) but the refried bean lacked seasoning. Maybe they had a super busy morning and afternoon, by the time dinner time started they had probably short staff in the kitchen. I'm not from the area, so I won't probably get out of my way to eat there, but surely would be my to go spot for local Tex-mex and comida salvadoreña.

It's a fun spot to get queso and frozen margaritas. We popped in after Santa Rosa was too busy. The menu at La Plaza is large with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and more. The prices are a bit steep for the quality of food. Everyone in my party thought their dishes were average from the ground beef enchiladas to the veggie fajitas to the nachos. Everything lacked flavor and was just okay. The mango frozen margarita was pricey, but I enjoyed it! I also appreciated the free chips and salsa.

It hasn't really bounced back just yet. But I also feel like we are in a bubble too. Our street looks vacant, but once you walk to one end of the block or other, the opportunities are within sight. I have seen this place when I have had the pleasure to drive into work. However, it's not an establishment that I would walk to for lunch. DC blocks can be super long to walk and it can take a while to cross the busy streets. With our event coming up I figured why not. We went with the 40 Person Package from their catering menu. I think they under-describe this. It states it is for 40 people, but the amount of food you receive can easily feed more than that. Especially when it comes with four full pan sized side dishes. Definitely enough food to feed a crew and have leftovers. For our sides we went with White Rice, Plantains, Mashed Potatoes, and House Salad. All the food was received well by our crew and they were pleased to be able to partake in what was left after the meal was done. The White Rice comes with peas and carrots right in it. The Plantains are fried perfectly. Mashed Potatoes were velvety (sadly they appear to have taken them off the menu since we ordered). And the House Salad was a light side to rest of the rich food. What was over the top here was the delivery of the food. This was two weeks post snowstorm and the streets of DC were still mini mountains to climb. Our delivery person was amazing with the delivery. He, however, had the mishap of the mashed potatoes deciding to ditch before being delivered. He was very apologetic, cleaned it off the sidewalk outside, and went back to the restaurant to bring a fresh tray. That is superb service in my mind.

It's not bad on the pocket book either. When I visited the place, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. The decor was fitting for the food. My mistake is ordering when I'm hungry. The half chicken is just a bit too much for me...but I still ate it all. I left nothing for leftovers. When I'm DC, this is a place to eat.
