This review is for the bar, which deserves 6 stars.
From the belle epoque decor to the prose of Marcel Proust infused into the materials, this hotel/bar/spa transcends titles. We did not stay at the hotel, but walked around to get a sense of how it felt, and it was consistent with the beauty of the bar and salons.
We had coffee in the salon and cocktails at the bar, all of which were tasty. The service is as good as I have experienced: elegant without being snooty, relaxed while being constantly at-the-ready, and genuinely conversational (if you're interested). The barman made the best cocktail (La Marquise) I have ever tasted: beautiful, unique and flavorful, and representative of the time period of Proust. The bar tenders gave us a masterclass on what techniques they used and offered insights on aromatics which was masterful. The cocktails were incredible, but the experience itself will linger. We will definitely be going back. read more
