This place is such a gem! I would not have known this place if it wasn't for my Airbnb! There were few loose tea in Cha Noir bags at my Airbnb, and of course I had to try some. I tried chai rooibos and it was amazing. The whole spices in the tea brought such vibrant flavour. I immediately started to search Cha Noir and decided to visit. It is in the Verdun neighbourhood of Montreal. It is on a quaint main avenue of Wellington. There are many stores, and very ethnically diverse. It also helps that it is rather close to Costco (less than 10 min by car). Interior of this tea room is decorated very warmly, but spacious. They have so many kinds of loose tea it was pure joy for me! The people who work there are very helpful and friendly. I initially bought three 50g each of various loose tea blends, but I went back and got few more. My husband and I also decided to order some tea to drink there. He got 12 year old smoked pu-erh tea, and I got Kashmir Chai latte. My husband really liked his picture-erh, and I also enjoyed my chai. I loved I can actually taste different spices in my chai. Also, tea are served in really cool pots and cups. If you love tea you have to make a visit here! They also sell various tea pots and cups. I will definitely come back here when I am back in Montréal!

Another gem in Verdun. Ambiance was super good, a nice catchup venue between friends.

Service and ambience are great, so is the tea selection. Perfect for a tea date or a quiet time with a laptop. Would definitely recommend!

I love this place. what I don't love is the pressure to buy their expensive tea pots.i also feel pressured to leave a tip.

I enjoyed the experience, with good viennoiseries, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere…read more It was a solid local find that I would happily visit again. Enjoy!

First time visiting this place, but it's not new. In fact, it's been in the neighborhood for 5-6…read moreyears! Might be cause the storefront is not the most obvious as the bakery is quite small. The focal point of the bakery is of course, the counter. There is a paper ticket system for service on busier days. When I went in, it was quiet so ticket optional. We were greeted right away by friendly staff. When I asked for recommendations, Marie took me on a visual and descriptive tour highlighting some of their specialty products. I went for the seasonal maple roll dusted with icing sugar, topped with white chocolate chips and a maple crust. Also took a slice of pear almond tart. They were both $4.50 each. The maple roll was densely packed and so much more than a snack. It's really bready so you could have it for breakfast. Slightly sweet and covered in a light glaze. The tart was light tasting and the pastry was full of buttery goodness. Texture is a little bit interesting because it's a cold tart, the juice from the pears soak into the almond paste and make it a little bit cold and slightly mushy. Some people might not like that but I found it ok. Service is friendly and attentive. Pastries are good but a bit expensive.
