Sat there for a while just chilling with coffee. Staff didn't rush us which i appreciated. nice little spot

Good place to get a coffee and do some work or just hang. The people who work there are super nice. All around nice experience the few times that I've been. I notice that it's open late too so people get late afternoon beers and hang on the terrace. . read more

Both flavors of ice tea were spectacular. Wonderful service and wonderful tea. Specifically the jasmine green tea with pineapple. Would definitely recommend if you are in Montreal. read more

Just updating this to celebrate the incredible and delicious array of vegan baked goods heart that left my little heart singing today. I also partook of an exceptional oat milk latte, and we booked the lovely wood lined private booth in the basement for a meeting and it was just perfect for our needs. The booth is not a closed room so if you need quiet or total privacy this isn't the right place for you, but otherwise I whole heartedly recommend. read more

It's no secret that caffeine is a powerful stimulant - a good dose of java gives you that boost you need to supercharge your brain! On Saturday afternoons, like many of the Villeray locals, I check-in to this cafe, partly to satisfy that urge, and partly because you're always greeted with the most cheery and generous "Bonjour" by the staff members - Etienne and Annie! The two things that differentiates this independent coffee shop is its super friendly staff who uncannily remembers almost all of its patrons by their first name AND it's unique decor which is warm, inviting and comforting. Upon entering just look around and you'll be amazed by the bar, ceiling and pillars which are all made of wood reclaimed from a 100+ year old barn - gives a distinct personality to this establishment. Wherever you happen to sit, you'll find that it's an awesome place to chill, chat, catch up on your social feed & news or study on for hours! There are plenty of places to plug your computer and many hidden hooks to hang your purse or coat. A lot of attention has been given to make you feel comfortable! As you enjoy your favorite brew your ears will be titilated by an eclectic mix of ethereal new age tunes, soothing jazz vocals of Dinah Washington, heart warming country by Johnny Cash or hip beats from Likke Li and Miika. If you stay long enough, you may even be surprised to hear a local pianist untangle his fingers and play a song or two on the upright piano sitting in the back of the room. Tip: Head down to the basement and you'll be magically transported in another dimension - this place redefines the meaning of secret hideout! At this cafe you won't find many fancy roasted beans but who cares! The espresso, latte, cortado, are always rich tasting and if you want something different go for the ice coffee or any of the teas. The menu also has small bites and a good selection of sweets from Arhoma pastries (do try the pistachio chocolatine) to indulge from. Soon, offerings will include "adult" drinks and more copious meals says owner Matthieu. Am looking forward to the next visit while waiting for the new extension to be completed. Also gotta find out why they named this place Cafe Oui Mais Non... hope to see you there! read more

I love this cafe! It's warm, cosy and all around inviting. It's a perfect place to enjoy a hot drink on a cold afternoon and since the cafe was packed when I went it seems I'm not the only one who thinks like this. If you're not paying attention you'll end up walking right by it as there's no major sign from the street. You need to look for the blanket covering the door. When you walk in you'll be greeted with a big smile from the friendly staff here. Since it was later in the afternoon I stayed away from the coffee and just got a hot chocolate. I also thought I'd get a chocolatine to sample their food offerings. Together everything came out to around $6 which is on par with other coffee shops in Montreal. The hot chocolate wasn't too sweet and I liked how they served it with a marshmallow instead of whipped cream like most cafes do. It was a little flashback to childhood. The chocolatine was also a hit with it's soft, flaky, buttery interior. It must have been fairly fresh since the chocolate was melted still on the inside. If I lived in Villeray I'd be here all the time. I love the homey feel Oui Mais Non has to it and their food and drink are topnotch to boot. Even though it's out of my way I will definitely be back in the future to try more of their offerings. read more

Came here after hitting the gym and was happy to get a great cup if coffee. Whenever I try a new place, I'm always a but anxious because I'm not sure what kind of espresso beans they use. Luckly for me, the beans had a dark chocolate note which I loved! The ambiance here us quite nice. They have a few wooden table but I always like being at the counter. There seems to have a lot of students coming here to study and the people working there seem to know the regulars. There is also a nice background music playing which makes it lovely for a relaxing weekend. Wifi doesn't require a password :) read more

Cute, cozy and ample space for reading/studying. Open late too! One of my fav late night cafes in Montreal

About a 5 minute walk from Jarry metro in the Villeray neighbourhood is Oui Mais Non coffee shop - a quaint, unique and cool spot with retro decor. The four owners are all lovely and have put in efforts to make the alley way behind their coffee shop green. I was really impressed with the food. They serve mostly of vegetarian or vegan options, and everything I've tried is delicious. Their cold brew with coconut milk is delicious and refreshing. What really stood out for me was the spinach dip (OMG), the sweet potato hummus and the vegan bahn mi sandwich (never had anything like it before). They have a really cool basement, with old-school decor. If in the area, do yourselves a favour and check it out! read more

Very cute place with nice, but not perfect espresso like I have had at some other Quebecois cafes. It was all locals there, and I Ioved the vibe and the decor, and the offerings from local artisans. read more

This is a supremely cute cafe in Villeray. I love their mural in the alley and their hipster decor. The latte was legit tasty and the price was pretty standard for the area. I'd recommend! read more

A very cute small coffee place near Jarry station. They have limited choice of drinks such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate, etc but they also offer beers in their menu. Staffs are super friendly! It's a good place to study as they provide free wi-fi ;) or to have a coffee chitchat time with friends! read more

This is such a cool Café. We were on our wayvfor a short hike but wanted to stop for our morning coffee, yelp recommanded this place so we stoped here. This place has an extreamly cool atmosphere great for students or individuals who want to work as well as small kids who need some game to pass the timem but I wont give a 5 stats review based on atmosphere alone, I loved the coffee and all the pastries, my wife was especially happy to find a Vegan croissant there. Defiantly on my cool café places. read more

You are prefect, don't ever change, no matter what Yelp tells you. Tea served with a steeping timer - CUTE. Savoury and sweet muffins - hello options. So nice. Coffee is delicious. The vibe is super cool, lots of space to work or hang, late hours are a god sent, environment reminds me of Portland coffee shops - down to earth, natural woods, string lights. Plus it is super close to Parc Jarry. Love it. Sold. Let's do this. read more

My first visit today. A little hidden from view on t south side of Jarry. Just off the beaten path enough so that it was relatively quiet on a winter afternoon of writing/reading. Cozy and beautiful inside. Delicious coffee, great tea selection and from t looks of it - hot toddies as well! Sweets and soups to boot. I was pleasantly surprised that a macchiato and 3-cookie plate was under $6. Highly recommend and look forward to trying a savoury something next time! read more

Oui Mais Non - Got 3-cookies for $2.25 to go from an assortment of around 10 - wrapped in a brown paper envelope w their sticker. Beauty! - Cafes Near Me - Montreal, Quebec

Look, it's not hard for me and coffeeshops. Good coffee, good treats, good seating, good music, decent lighting, decent staff, clean restrooms, reliable internet. If you have that, I'm happy. This place has all of those things and then some. I particularly enjoy the basement space, which feels just like that friend's basement in high school where you spent all your time. Had a really good latte and chocolatine. read more

Great little working cafe. Tucked a little out of the way, Oui Mais Non is a cozy little cafe. The decor is a cross between that kooky cabin in the woods and a sleek modern kitchen. All the chairs are really comfy, one of the armchairs in particular is a great little reading nook. The service here is friendly and quick, the pastries are tasty (especially the chocolatines!) and the tea is served in a cute little setup. Overall, its a great space to do work, whether alone or in groups~ read more

Not bad. Good coffee, and decent baked goods. They have free WiFi and an outside sitting area that gets the Wi-Fi too. It's a few blocks down from the jarry metro, on your left, going away from The 193 bus stop. Central location. read more

I loved it! Go down to the basement and get so comfortable. The vegetarian chilie was extra tasty, and the soundtrack was playing all my favourite artists. If I lived here this would be my home away from home. Ouis Mais Non is a very short walk from the Jarry Metro. Leave on to Jarry Street and walk down on the left hand side counting the house numbers down and you'll come across it hidden away at No72 There is also a little shop connected which is like a lot of the lovely boutiques montreal has to offer. read more

Best Ice coffee Drink I have ever had in my entire life! The cafe is really amazing very classy and has both outside and downstairs seating. I would definitely make the journey here again to get some of the iced coffee! It is a religious experience! read more

Amazing baristas, wonderful place and cute music. The two best things about this place: the drinks (especially the chai latte and the hot chocolate with a marshmallow) & the basement. Usually, basements are scary and spooky, but this one simply looks like my future house. Full of books, sofas and random stuff (like that nice bathtub - someday I'll get the courage to get in it and just enjoy a book without fearing judgement)! It's so cozy and nice, but now's not really the perfect time, since it's finals and it's really packed. Or do go, because there's some cute guys (or girls) studying there! read more

Woah, probably my new favourite cafe in Montreal! I wasn't sure how this place would turnout from the photos but to my surprise, it's a huge space with lots of desks for working. Really clean place. Patio outside during summer. Cute decor, really hip. Staff is super friendly here, not condescending or pretentious like in some other places. You can stay here for hours without any unwanted pressure from the staff or other customers. You can make a day out of it if you need lots of work to get done. They have food and snacks so you're fully equipped for a productive day without having to hop cafes. They even keep a tab if you're staying all day so you can keep ordering and just pay when you leave. Sufficient lighting, huge windows. The coffee is great! Brilliant cappuccino. And i had a scone like cookie with vanilla frosting which was just yum! The place has board games and a small library if you're interested in spending some quality time. Best part, it's open till 11pm!! read more

Super cute cafe. Great coffee. Interesting shop of local wares (clothing, books, other things) next door.

Love this little cafe off the beaten track. Great coffee and snacks and good space to get some work done.

Atmosphere is great. Hot August day with doors and garage door open. Everything smells appetizing and customer service is engaging and open. Best, most productive space I've found for work, regardless of the large amount of customers. read more

I came here on the recommendation of a local, and I was not disappointed. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I went and got a tea and croissant. BEST CROISSANT OF MY LIFE. I went back the following day for another croissant, and got 3 for the road home. The vibe was also really cool, I did not venture into the basement, but I wish I did- there's always next time. Reasonable prices, and the workers there were very patient with me ordering in a mix of English and French. read more
