I love the ambiance of this cafe! Lots of seating inside and outside, spacious, well lit, and very friendly staff. I've gotten lunch here and a quick coffee and both times I really enjoyed it. I've had their iced salted caramel latte and iced mocha (the mocha was my fabourite mocha I've had so far! Sweet enough without being overwhelming) and the havarti grilled cheese which was delicious. I think it's the perfect place to study, get food to go and have a picnic in the park nearby, or grab a coffee for a neighbourhood walk. read more

New to the neighbourhood and decided to explore today. I found this café at the end of a lovely large parc in Angus. The architecture of the space is very industrial and the design is bright and spacious. While ordering my coffee, the barista informed me that the building used to be a train factory and produced tanks and artillery for WWII troops. Super cool to know about the buildings history. I enjoyed the cappuccino there. It was rich and intense. They have quality espresso beens. I also appreciated the friendly attitude the staff had. I want to come back with a friend to try their brunch menu on the weekend. read more

There are a lot of businesses opening up in the Angus Yards and Station W is the newest addition to the area. When I wandered in here they hadn't even been open a week. The original location of this coffee shop is in Verdun and it has long been in my bookmarks. Alas, as I am rarely in Verdun I had yet to make it there. The cafe has a gorgeous terrasse and on a sunny day it is nice to sit out there and take advantage of the beautiful weather. I took my mother here for lunch and we did just that. At Station W you order at the cash and the employees bring out the food. Our orders came quite quickly and we really enjoyed the food here. My shakshouka was packed with all kinds of vegetables and tasted really good. That was accompanied by a berry iced tea, which wasn't overly sweet and was very refreshing. My mother really enjoyed her falafel wrap. I decided to finish off that yummy lunch with a brownie which turned out to be incredibly rich and gooey. Personally I prefer my brownies a little more cakey but it was still rather decadent. I am so happy to have a cafe like this in my neighbourhood. The prices are competitive with other coffee shops, the food is good and the staff are just so friendly. Everyone here gives such excellent service. It will be the perfect place to come for lunch or even just a quick coffee. read more

The service and food at Station W are great, but I would not recommend going there due to how problematic the owner is. To summarize, a pregnant woman I know was written out of the schedule because the boss wouldn't make accommodations for her. He wouldn't let her do shifts less then 8-9h nor would he let her have a chair at the counter for when she was serving people. In her first trimester, she had intense nausea and fatigue almost constantly, which made working long, busy shifts on her feet unbearable. Her proposal to work more shifts but less hours was rejected. In the end, her midwife wrote a letter to say she should not be working for longer than 6 hours for a shift, but by this time it was too late because she had planned to leave for the Christmas break due to a lack of effort being made by the boss to help her. The owner couldn't adapt the schedule or workload and later said that he didn't have the hours, even though he'd just recently hired a new employee. If a business owner can't adapt a little bit for a pregnant worker who is reliable, hard-working and well-liked, then what does that say about them? To add insult to injury, she had to ask for her tips months later because the boss had conveniently forgotten to share them with her. Furthermore, on more than one occasion, this employee was taken off the schedule at extremely short notice for no clear reason, resulting in a needless loss of income. Obviously, this situation was very stressful and upsetting for her, but no real apology was made. From an outsider's perspective, this strikes me as either incompetence or callousness. I understand that this review has nothing to do with the food and service, which is a shame because Station W is - on the surface - a great cafe. The staff are fantastic, friendly and caring, and the quality of the coffee and food is great. However, all of this is ruined as soon as you realize how the business operates behind the scenes. Personally, I would prefer to support a business that treats their employees with respect, dignity and integrity. I encourage others to use their conscience before going to Station W. read more

Very glad to have this cafe right next to work. Hands down the best coffee in the area, and their lunch selection is perfect: simple, tasty, high quality. My go-to's : Caesar salad (always fresh ingredients, dressing is creamy, croutons always crisp!) , and the beef Havarti grilled cheese (country bread, gooey cheese, tasty pulled beef). No pictures of the food to post because I ate way too fast and forgot to snap a pic. Proof that it's good ! During my afternoon walk at work, I followed the smell of fresh brewed coffee and stumbled upon this coffee shop with nice industrial chic decor, great indoor space with plenty of seating and a terrace! As there was no outdoor sign up yet, imagine my surprise when I realized it was Station W! That's right, my fave brew shop in Verdun added a second location! I did not grab a bite here today but I can attest that if the salads are as good as their first location, I found my new lunch spot. I ordered an iced latte and savoured the creamy coffee flavour as I waltzed back to work, ready to face my afternoon of meetings and paperwork. So happy to have them across the street, although my wallet will feel it, and such a welcome addition to the neighbourhood! read more
