The food and broth isn't bad, but their portions are majorly effed up. If you order an extra large bowl of pho here, you'll get about the portions of meat and noodles as a small/children size bowl of pho at all other restaurants. What the flip?!?! What's the point of ordering an extra large bowl of pho if you give me nothing but a bigger bowl?!?! It's not like it's cheap either...... it's priced like other pho places, but portioned like a children's menu. Don't come here if you eat more than a five year old! read more

Yay, another pho restaurant in South Orange County. Better yet, they have good pho and nice service. It's a win. I tried the pho with rare beef and brisket, regular size. There weren't any other people in the restaurant at that time and the pho came out quickly. (It was a little after one on a Saturday and a few minutes later a couple of other couples entered). The plate of bean sprouts and basil was smaller than I have seen in other pho restaurants, but that was not a big deal to me as I don't tend to use that much of either. A couple of jalapeño slices and a couple of limes were on the plate as well. The broth is pretty good, even if it was a little different than I expected. It tasted a little cleaner and maybe a little plainer than I thought it would. That might be just what I am used to from other pho restaurants. Still, I liked the broth. Perhaps the taste was due to it being fresher. I'm not sure. I didn't add any sauces to it, I usually don't. My favorite lunchtime companion, Tom T, really liked the broth and felt he didn't need to add any sauces to it. I think his oxtail pho might have been a better choice than mine. There seemed to be a lot of oxtail in his soup. The taste was very good. I had enough rare beef, sliced green onions, and brisket in my soup to satisfy me. There was also a good amount of noodles which were cooked well; I liked it. I think I might order the oxtail pho the next time I'm there. My regular size bowl kept me full for a good time. There's also the option of a large bowl, of course. I haven't tried any of the other items on the menu but might try the egg rolls on my next visit. Service here was good and efficient and the place was pleasant and clean. Good place to go. read more

Hubby and I came here by his request since he was still at work nearby by the time dinner rolled around so I acquiesced. Granted, it's been a while since we were here but the difference between last time and this time was night and day! Are their days numbered?? Red flag #1: Peak dinner time - no one dining in the restaurant. The place felt like they had the heater on. So we headed outside where we noticed two other parties eating Maison food who also opted to sit outside. Even with that, this turnout was paltry compared to the last couple times we were here. During our entire meal, no one else came to dine. Red flag #2: Again, peak dinner time - no more oxtail. WTF? I mean c'mon...that was the foremost reason I would be here. Their broth isn't special and neither is anything else except the fact that they have oxtail on the menu! It sounded like they just didn't bother making any. Red flag #3: I ordered the rare beef pho, large (after I was informed that there was no more oxtail). The beef was tough as nails. Tougher than any other pho place I've been to. Also, the bowl was all noodles. Like a metric ton. Not that I wanted more of that tough beef but the bowl was noodle heavy, a little skimpy on the beef and broth. I wish I took a pic of the sriracha bottle that they HANDED US (it wasn't already on the table in which case they could plead ignorance). The entire tip was crusted over in dusty, dark red dried hot sauce, with an extra blob like it started to get angry and grow before it was dried over. I couldn't believe any restaurant worker would hand someone a bottle that had that on it. GROSS. I had to take a napkin to it and use try to get some of the crustiness in out of the hole itself. Eventually, I just decided not to use it. Given that all their customers were sitting outside, it was interesting that the staff stayed huddled in the restaurant (guess they don't care that it felt like a furnace in there). Needless to say, we ended up getting up and going inside if we had any wants/needs. They did bother to bring the check outside, though we eventually ended up taking it inside for them to run. No bueno. No bueno at all. read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have better star ratings! It's in a prime location, the staff is super friendly and fast, and the food is DELICIOUS! I will definitely be coming back soon! Yum! Taste wise it was okay...I could taste the spices but it was a little bland. Noodles were cooked well and they gave plenty of side garnish. They had chili oil so that was a plus. Service was relatively quick. Location was nice because it was next to ice cream and boba. There was indoor and outdoor seating so atmosphere was nice. Overall clean restaurant, fast service, good portion on the food but taste was just ok. read more

I was disappointed when I got home to find out that my take out order of Chicken Pho from Maison De Pho were not that good. Only few small pieces of dark meat with fat. Look at the pictures. Also, I was surprised that I was charged 4% Convenience Fee. read more

This is hands down the BEST pho and Vietnamese stop in all of Lake Forest/Mission Viejo/Foothill Ranch area!!!! The flavor of the broth is simply THE BEST. The egg rolls are the top! I just finished watching The Hitman: Agent 47.....and I am hungry! What to eat? I started walking I see a Pho place....tempted but Foothill Ranch? Better keep looking.....I'm checking out menus...Pho is calling me...ok ok, I give in, I go for Pho!!!! Entering into an empty Pho place....maybe this is a bad idea....greeted by a smiley Vietnamese dude....look at menu....Hmmmm.....not sure. Ok, I want the brisket and rare beef Pho. Sweet! Well truth be told....this place did not disappoint. The owner brought out some oxtail so I could try and it was delicious! The pho has a good tasting broth. I loved the vegetables too! It's somewhat refreshing and rare to find good quality Pho that reminds me of my days on Clement street in San Francisco. This place is a close as it is gonna get, for now. I got the rare beef pho because it is one of their popular orders. I was craving soup a few nights ago due to a sinus infection and being sick. Soup when you're sick makes everything better. Pho makes the sinuses clear! We got our orders and the staff is customer oriented and give good recommendations. They are very quick to give you your orders. The food is good and the soup remained hot during my whole meal. We took our orders to go and I love that the soup broth was separate from the noodles and beef. The portions seem a bit off, as Jessica L. mentioned in her review. I agree with here. I think I only had one or two pieces of beef. Oh well. I was more focused on the broth and warmth of the soup because it helped clear my sinuses. Anyway, I enjoyed my soup and I got to try the spring rolls which were very fresh and don't really need the sauce that goes with it. I was full after our meal and I felt slightly better from the sinus issues. Price wise, it is rather expensive, but I understand considering that there are only a few pho places in South Orange county. Now, if we were in SF, the prices might be a bit cheaper because there are a ton of Pho places to choose from. Sigh. I miss Clement street! read more

Poor quality in food and poor service. Pho has no flavor-NO FLAVOR. And crispy egg rolls were even more disappointing. I'd drive the extra two miles or whatever to Simply Pho. And NOTE: the service thinks they're being funny when they're really just insulting you. read more

My co-worker and I stopped by for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was! Why haven't we tried it before?! It was around 11:30am when we arrived and luckily we just beat the lunch rush. Our server, Hal, was very pleasant. They had our order out in less than 5 minutes! Great for us since we only have a half hour lunch break. :) I ordered the Veggie pho and it is delicious. Good flavor in the broth and they provided plenty of vegetables...not 90% noodle, 5% veggie, and 5% broth like some other places. Update: Their pho is still very good and the staff is ever friendly and smiling. I ordered a milk tea with boba this time around and was disappointed with the boba. It was very mushy and tasted old. There was no "Q" at all which is what boba is supposed to be all about! The milk tea itself was good. I would order just that without boba next time. read more

We got chicken pho and the beef & brisket pho. Unfortunately, the broth has no flavor...the brisket was extremely tough. The noodles were mushy. Maybe it was a bad night? I'm not sure we will be returning to this place. read more

They shouldn't call a sandwich a Vietnamese sandwich unless it's a Vietnamese style sandwich. If your looking for even a decent bánh mì, you won't find it here. What you'll get is a wheat Subway type roll, with lettuce and tomatoe with your choice off meat. I got the grilled pork which was good but this was definitely not a Vietnamese sandwich. read more

If you're looking for a banh mi, this isn't the place for you. The sandwiches are ok but they're not actually banh mis (advertised as sandwiches, not banh mis--we just didn't realize), and they're pretty pricey if you're not aware of this ahead of time. The other entrees were tasty though. read more

I get pho tai with BBQ lemon grass chicken and have had nothing but good experiences after a couple of visits. Nice people working there too. I go here over other pho places because it's close to home and the prices are reasonable for what you get. And the food comes out lightning fast. I've seen a mixture of people here, from non-English speaking elders to the normal soccer mom and kid families typical to fhr. read more

I was extremely sick recently and needed to get warm food fast. I usually opt to getting chicken noodle soup somewhere but for some reason I was craving pho. Since this is one if the only locations in foothill ranch that has pho, I stopped by to get some pho to go. I was extremely impressed that my order was ready by the time I had signed the recent to finish paying. I wouldn't say that the pho here is the best that I've had, but it was good enough (maybe it's better when you eat it there and don't get it to go). I was craving pho and needed a quick place to go nearby work, and this fit the bill. It was a very hot afternoon and also not very busy but these folks could have at least bothered cranking up or fixing the A/C. I was sweating up a storm even before my meal was served to me. I ordered the house special and the broth was OK, nothing mind-blowing. You also only get two spring rolls for an order, when most places elsewhere would give you at least four similarly-sized ones for the same price. But the spring rolls were just as I expected so I didn't complain. The coconut milk boba was also okay too. Service was also OK for a slow weekday afternoon but the gal serving me seemed to be in la-la land. read more

Both my girlfriend and I ordered the 'bun' noodles, and it was exactly what we were looking for: flavorful meat with a mixture of veggies and warm noodles on the bottom with a side of fish sauce to add to the mix as we pleased. It's been a while since we've eaten Vietnamese but over the weekend Cameron and I had time for a movie date and, being peckish, we decided to hit the food court. Maison de Pho beckoned so we headed in. It's always a good sign when you wander into a restaurant and all you can hear are customers chatting in the language that matches the food type! Bonus points if it smells right and the cooks are of that ethnicity. Maison de Pho hit all the points. So we grabbed a menu and perused. After some hard decision making, I settled on the chicken curry rice noodle soup and an iced Vietnamese milk coffee while Cameron picked the BBQ pork noodle Pho. My soup broth was rich in flavour - curried but not spicy - with a lovely density to it. I could easily have just drunk the liquid! There was a decent amount of chopped greens, a lot of chicken, and of course, a lot of noddles. Easily 2 meals worth (I brought the rest home for next days lunch). The only niggle - and it's minor - was that the chicken needed a bit more flavour. I think it was cooked separately to the soup and it lacked any seasoning. Cameron's Pho was also really good. Pho comes in 2 sizes so he got the small serving (maybe it was a tad smaller than mine...) It was stuffed with greens and BBQ pork along with the noodles. He didn't bring home leftovers as there were none! Finally my coffee. This was one of the best I've had - the rich coffee taste was perfectly balanced with a light touch of sugar and not too much ice. Taking the kids for lunch ths week! read more

Come here for the pho, specifically the ox tail pho - they have it advertised everywhere. The ox tail is stewed in the broth and gives off a deep, rich beefy flavor along with some good fat. The meat is served stripped off the bone and is very tender. Remember, ox tail is not lean, but it's definitely a nice treat every once in a while. The portions are very good and the prices are comparable with all the other places in the area. This is one of the better pho places in south county. I'll be coming back to try their other offerings. read more

I like this place. It's close to my work and usually doesn't take too long to get my food. Today I came in on my lunch and waited for over 25 minutes for my food. It never came out and there was nobody coming to check on my table, even though customers who came in after me got their food right away. I ended up having to leave due to my lunch being almost over. I did get a refund but the cashier didn't apologize or offer any other courtesies. I'm very disappointed with this experience and won't be coming back. read more

This spot was a disappointment today. Normally the food here is enough for an average quick pho fix. Today though, the quality of food was just subpar. We ordered Beef vermicelli, oxtail pho, and spring rolls. The pho broth was bland and we had to add ingredients to it at home for some flavor. The lettuce in both the spring roll and vermicelli we riddled with brown pieces. To top it off, we ended up finding a bug in vermicelli. Unless something changes with this place, this will be the last time we eat here. read more

Just to be clear we did not order Pho. We got the grilled pork and chicken salad and the bun rieu and were impressed. Would have given 5 stars if the traditional herbs were served with the bun rieu (perilla and water spinach) but the taste was on point and the rieu was the classic kind (not made into a ball). Grilled meats were pretty darn tasty, not the best I've had but not far off. Turns out the chef was Mexican! Why not? The best restaurants in America are full of Mexican and South American cooks, I just did not expect Viet restaurants as well. Welcome to the family, hombre. read more

Food has gone down hill. The rice I ordered was full of salt. The short ribs I ordered tasted like burned oil and did not have any flavor. Also the peanut sauce for the cold rolls was watered down. Very disappointing!!!! read more

But pho is made with pristine white rice flour noodles that are made daily and sold in markets. To me, the most stunning part about slurping pho in the motherland was the quality of the noodles. They were always tender with a nice body. They were like nothing I had ever had before.

I get wanting to conserve plastic bags but it wasnt practical or smart and they were unwilling to repack. To order takeout, it's the old fashioned way - by phone. They have a decent website but no option to order online.

I enjoyed the food BUT the lack of service was disappointing. I pay for service; not to be treated as if a simple request is an annoyance.

Our experiences lately here have been declining in quality. We didn't have small plates for our appetizers, and didn't have soup spoons in the caddy, really some pretty basic things. The workers are overwhelmed and it's hard to track down people to help you when you need it. While I can put up with some of the things above for some good food, what changed today is we were charged a higher price for the appetizer than what was stated on the menu. The menu also states complimentary refills for noodles while dining in, and we were charged for this as well (and not informed by the server). We didn't notice these changes until after we left. Please update your menus to reflect the correct prices and policies and do better. We will reconsider our go to pho place.

We ordered the Shrimp Spring Rolls for an appetizer and decided to order their recommended District 5 House Special Vermicelli which included grilled shrimp, bbq chicken and egg rolls. Everything was so tasty and fresh! They had just made the fish sauce and it was warm and fragrant. The contrast of the crisp egg rolls, smoky chicken and fresh lettuce with the sweet and sour garlic sauce all melded well. They also provide very reasonable lunch specials from 10am-3pm. We'll be back!

The star of the dish was the grilled pork and it was perfectly seasoned. Such a refreshing dish to eat in the summer. I also tried their Garlic Noodle with shrimp and the shrimps were giant!
