Had to try some macarons from Pierre Marcolini. And~ so we did try them…read more Very ritzy shop as one might expect from a subtitle like "haute chocolaterie". Sleek and sophisticated in feel. We got a small set sampling from the macaron pyramid "La Délicate"-- a box of 7. It was beautifully gift wrapped with a ribbon. -Rose, Framboise, Praline, Citron, Pierre Marcolini, Pistache, and Passion. They're quite extravagant in look with the golden flakes brushed across a few of the cookies. The texture and feel were right on. Very good macaron overall. Pierre Marcolini is, of course, chocolate first, but their other confections are absolutely gorgeous. If you can foot the bill, then it's a nice fanciful gift of good quality.

The device was very polite & was in English from the start. Maybe I look very English with my disgruntled look or I look American by being fat. However they were very polite. The cake? I though with it being in the shop window it might be a touch dry. Heck no! The thickness of the delicious fudge/chocolate frosting kept the moisture trapped right in there. Was it the best chocolate cake that I bought my wife & sneaked a bit or six of? No. But it was up there... And for the price it can not be beaten. Well maybe add some rum etc & then it can be beaten...

You must splurge and try them all when you're in Brussels. You only live once and this is the epitome of living. I was speechless after the first bite!

A place where Pralines take center stage, in this way no different than most of the Shops in Belgium, Darci's Chocolates sets itself apart from other spaces by labeling each item with full description and whether one opts for the "Owl" with Whisky Caramel and White Chocolate or "Sesamon" with Hazelnut Crisps and Salty finish there really is no wrong option the Speculoos and Arabica also excellent with their expected, yet well crafted, fillings. Moving past Chocolates, the confitures offered alongside Gaufre admittedly quite tempting, the decision was instead made to sample a few of BS40's pastel French Cookies, the batch made fresh that morning still sporting a shell with a perfectly crisp break overlying intensely flavored, but lightly sugared, creams and jellies.
