We wanted to pick up a couple little treats for Sunday and decided to see what they had. The shop was overflowing with goodies! There were so many different things to choose from, including tartes, eclairs, chocolate, croissants, and because it's Easter time, a bunch of chocolate eggs. We went with a Mango Yuzu tarte, as well as a Vanilla creme one with frangipane and caramel. The crunching suprise of discovering the chocolate shell on the mango Yuzu, to the utter deliciousness of the caramel in the vanilla cream one really blew us away. Not to mention the price point. Their macaroons were the thickest I have ever bitten into. Also, it was filled with its specific flavored jam inside the usual creamy center. So when you bite into one, you will see the cloud like pieces of cookie, the creamy middle, AND the awesome jam supporting whatever the macaroon's flavor is. Back in California, I am sad that no other macaroon-specialty places here has anything even remotely close to Monsieur Pierre Ledent's masterpieces.
