had an early appointment in BH so decided to book a little getaway and unfortunately I chose Maison 140. I check in fine and go to the room , it reeks with sewage smell and was disgusting. I go down to the front desk and the front desk gives me hard time with oh the hotel is booked we don't have rooms made me stand for 10 minutes until the magical room appears and was able to switch me. Go to the second room and it was smelling like mold, bugs and finger nails under the glass screen on the night stand and the desk, a hair ball in the shower, towels had some bodily fluids in one of them, Blood on the pillow. This is the most disgusting hotel I've ever been at it was too late to look for other hotels so spent the night and was out by 7 am the next day. After leaving front desk didn't care of getting the feedback. Lastly I was charged with resort fee, called to get it removed still waiting on the call back from the manager!!!

Yes, another reviewer mentioned they had additional fees. I don't know that I have ever visited a hotel that didn't have additional fees. If that's so important, just call and ask. All things considered, (even with additional fees) this was still the least expensive hotel in the area at the time I booked. I was looking for a hotel in Beverly Hills that was safe, hospitable and wanted spend less than $200/night doing so. If that's your goal, Maison 140 Beverly Hills is my best recommendation. If you appreciate people, hospitality and location, this hotel is exactly where you want to be. Secluded, peace and quiet, and safety were my highest concerns. No signs of homeless camping nearby and both sides of the street were blocked off for parking at the time due to filming. I was just a few minutes from the design district - my ultimate location. Other reviews mentioning it as cozy and secluded were spot on! Brent was lovely greeting me during my 10:00pm arrival. Ana helped me when I forgot my toothpaste and easily extended my 12:00pm check out to 1:00pm. I think I interacted with maybe 3 other staff members that each were very welcoming and took the time to say hello. There's no hustle & bustle here with pretentious employees scurrying to making sure that your every need is taken care of. If that's your expectation, please do the world a favor and continue to stay home? There's just good people here that want to make sure you're comfortable. That's all I needed. My room was clean, smelled fine, elevator worked, tv worked, and air conditioning worked. I had a safe in my room along with a refrigerator and a bathroom that appeared to have been recently remodeled. How nice to have a shower I can turn on before actually getting in. It's the simple things I appreciated most. The hotel carries the nostalgia of a speakeasy from back in the day. A beautiful vintage vibe that I loved. I didn't have a chance to visit the pool or breakfast at their sister hotel next door - I'm sure that renovation is fabulous. I enjoyed my my brief stay mostly in my room and was able to get some restful sleep in. If you are looking for the same, you will appreciate the Maison 140 Beverly Hills too.

You can see where they cleverly removed the knob that holds the TP on the rail. Its the little things.

If you are a fan of voyeurism or have a scatalogical fetish, this is the hotel for you! The first thing you'll notice when entering your room (I was in room 219, so I can only speak for that one), is that there is a large window pointing straight from the bed to the toilet inside the bathroom. I can only imagine this is so someone in bed can gain the thrilling taboo gratification of locking eyes with their partner as they bare down and push out a BM. (See photo 1) Fans of humiliation fetishes can rejoice, as once the bathroom-goer finishes voiding their bowels they will discover the joys of picking the roll of TP off the dirty tile floor behind the toilet. This is due to the clever removal of the knob that is supposed to hold the TP on it's rail, instead leaving a bare screw which makes it comically easy to knock the paper roll to the floor behind the porcelain throne that seems to be the focal (or fecal) point of the hotel room. (See photo 2). Once you've finished getting down and dirty on the pot, wash off all the shame and guilt with a nice cold shower. That's right, we stayed for two nights and both mornings the shower never reached a temperature warmer than "Oh God its freezing." It's really fantastic for snapping you back to reality, and the complimentary soap fills the room with notes of citrus and regret. Are you more of an exhibitionist than simply a voyeur? Worry not, Maison 140 has you covered there as well, as there are no "Do not disturb" signs available to place on the outer door handle. Every moment here is filled with the palpable excitement that a maid could come through the door to bear witness to the full range of your depravity. Full disclosure, no cleaners ever attempted to clean our room during our two-night stay, so your mileage may vary. Want to leave a little gift for the next guest that shows how much you care about sharing fluids, bodily or otherwise? Then once again I have great news for those of you who want to pay it forward. My bedside table was covered in a sticky yellow substance that I only discovered after placing my phone, glasses, and wallet there. When it came time to pick up my phone, the undetermined substance transferred its sticky yellow essence to all of my things. Some may even want to keep the sap-like souvenir on their personal items as a reminder of the time they tried to find an affordable hotel in Beverly Hills (See photo 3 of what the towel looked like after I wiped the table down). And the fun doesn't stop there! The establishment itself is more than happy to screw you too. When you check in, you will be blessed with a mandatory $40/night parking fee, and a mandatory $20/night "Amenity fee," which the employee was unable to explain other than "It's Beverly Hills." So whatever you think you're paying per night, add an additional $60 just for funsies. Now personally, I'm not into any of these kinky fetishes, and therefore I had a miserable time at the Maison 140. But if you're into this sort of thing and want to get the full pervert experience (no judgement here!), I truly cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst bouncing around the area for work meetings in late August. Perhaps I'm just easy to please but I was surprised to read some of the 2 star reviews for Maison 140. Both my coworker and I were pleasantly surprised at the coziness of this boutique hotel. While the bar area isn't huge, it's cozy and relaxing to spend time unwinding over the complimentary drink you get with your stay or to sit and work. The rooms themselves weren't huge but the bed was comfortable and it was clean. The location was a really short distance to Starbucks to grab coffee to get the morning started and we liked how close it was to the Waldorf Astoria, just a couple of long blocks. Pros: Cozy bar, clean rooms & great location Cons: The AC was on the louder side but personally I sleep better with that type of white noise :)

The tape in the right corner was probably used by previous guest to hang a sheet to give those in the bathroom privacy.
Amanda W.

When I hear boutique inspired hotel I understand it's not going to be modern but I would hope the hotel would still have a wow factor. The wow factor was the location of the hotel ‍. You're walking distance to some great restaurants, Rodeos Drive, gorgeous homes, the Beverly Hills sign, etc. The decor is out dated, there was an old smell that hits you when you enter the hotel/room. It's very intimate from the lobby area, elevator, bedroom and bathroom. There isn't a lot of space to move around. A-little claustrophobic at times. And the AC unit was loud. It took some time to get use to the noise.

I checked in 9/8/23 and I checked out 9/10/23. I have stayed at this hotel many times and this stay was unsatisfactory for two reasons: 1. The air conditioning stopped working on 9/9/23 and I asked for a room change, was denied that, then offered a room on the ground floor, and then a room on the 2nd floor. I opted to wait 90 minutes for the AC to be fixed but the unit clearly was old and broken and badly maintained (see photos). These repairs should be done when guests are not paying for the room. 2. Unsafe conditions 9/9/23 9p - 9/10/23 1a. There were people (guests and others) partying in front of the hotel from 9p 9/9/23 through 1a 9/10/23, including doing dangerous car donuts in front of the hotel (see photos) and hotel staff did nothing to tell the group to quiet down and/or disperse the group. My husband finally called the police who dispersed the group. I emailed the manager on 9/11, the day after I checked out, with no response. I emailed again on 9/14 and again on 9/25. I also called and asked to speak to the manager and I was told he was "off that day." I have never received a response back. There has been no maintenance at the hotel since before the pandemic. What surprised me the most is that they endorsed a disturbance, and potentially unsafe situation, at the hotel. I will never stay there again. It's a shame because it was once a great place to stay in Beverly Hills. Not anymore.

If I could give lower than one star on this app, I would. The pictures speak for themselves. While I don't ever give bad reviews, it's important for people to know that this business should not be renting out rooms in the condition that mine was in. In addition to the pictures, the hotel has a nauseating smell. Last thing I'll add is that the pictures on their website are extremely misleading as to the condition of the interior.

Disgusting shower head

DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The staff was rude and it was over $200 in hidden fees on top of the room booking that we already paid for. At first glance it's so cute but once we spent more time I. Our room we noticed how out dated everything was and poorly maintained. This place needs all new everything, especially for how expensive it is to stay here. I even seen old blood stains on my mattress while I was packing to leave. GROSS!!! Horrible stay!

She answered our questions, took care of the check-in process, gave us our keys and we were off. By the time we got to our room our luggage had just been delivered. It was all really fast. The room we got was very large and extremely clean. It had a walk in closet, a king size bed with two end tables, a small sitting area, a little office area, and a beautiful view from the balcony. It also had a large bathroom with two sinks, a tub, a shower, and a toilet. Every day that we stayed there the room was cleaned and serviced while we were out visiting the city. We settled in and then decided to get some dinner at the hotel restaurant called The Rooftop. The atmosphere was beautiful. It had heaters running as it was a cool evening and a gorgeous night view of the hills. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Overall the Waldorf had great service. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. Plus the Rooftop restaurant was convenient with delicious food options. Staying at the Waldorf was a very positive experience.

There wasnt a single item of this beautiful hotel that I could find fault with.   Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and expertly by a professional and extremely competent front desk staff, who had us not only checked in within seconds, but had upgraded us to a breathtaking suite with amazing views of Beverly Hills.  Bell service for our luggage was so fast they almost beat us to the room!   The newly renovated wing is stunning.  Guest rooms are gorgeously appointed, with just about every amenity a luxury traveler could want.  Despite the modern renovations, they have managed to keep the old charm of this classical beauty, giving you the subtle feeling of a by-gone era, while enjoying modern comfort on a flawless level.   I briefly mentioned to a staff member that I wasn't sure our mini bar was cooling properly, and within thirty minutes, not only was it completely replaced, but a second larger unit was brought in for our wines and other spirits which they had noticed we had brought with us. This was an impressive touch, considering we had not even thought to ask for one. The world class staff saw something they could make better, and made it happen, just like that. Room service was excellent. Food was delivered inhumanly fast, hot, and with top restaurant quality, just what you expect when you stay with the very best. Housekeeping day, and evening turn down service was flawless. A little whisper to our housekeeper for extra water, and we had enough water in our room to fill a bath tub. From the biggest to smallest request, the team at the Beverly Wilshire exceeds your highest level expectations. On that subject, I cannot say enough good things about the incredible staff at this Four Seasons property.  During a few periods of rain, the lobby and door personnel were falling over themselves to provide large luxury umbrellas, door attendants quickly cleaning and ensuring no one was wet, or slipping in the lobby.  There are literally layers of managers overlooking one another, but in contrast to other big name properties and brands, the staff here are all efficient, consummate professionals. No one is just standing around. Everyone takes personal responsibility and initiative for guest comfort and service.  From the housekeepers to the top managers, any request is taken as a personal assignment, treated with the utmost care and urgency, and they ensure it gets done. Always verifying to ensure you are pleased.  Each and every wish is fulfilled with a smile. I never heard the words "no" or "we can't" uttered. Many famous luxury brands try valiantly, but one simply cannot find better service than Four Seasons. They have taken luxury hospitality to an absolute science, and do not compromise on excellence.   Every guest is treated like royalty. Not a single detail is overlooked. From the breathtaking spa, to amazing dining options, this property has it all.  BLVD, the main restaurant and bar, is an iconic establishment with the best views on all Rodeo Drive. The service and food here are simply first class.   I will be writing a separate review just for BLVD, as the restaurant and their staff deserve their own recognition. On a visit several years ago, we received such magnificent service by a server named Surya, that when we had to return to Beverly Hills, there was really no other choice for us than The Beverly Wilshire. More on that incredible experience in my review for BLVD. There is also a new steakhouse, and separate lounge called Cut, by the world renowned chef Wolfgang Puck. This eatery is visually stunning, and the lounge has a classy, sexy, old Hollywood meets the 21st century vibe.  Service was excellent with a huge and professionally curated wine and drink list. There simply aren't enough words of praise one can say about this property and the experience here.   If you visit Southern California, and can afford it, treat yourself to the very best.  The service here is consistently the finest we have experienced anywhere in the US, even among the most elite brands and properties. The Four Seasons has kept, and even elevated this "Grande Dame" of Beverly Hills in all her luxurious glory. Unquestionably of the finest properties in the world to visit. Highly recommend.

I was recently told that I have had 151 different stays here, and that alone says everything. This is my all-time favorite hotel in the Beverly Hills area, and it continues to impress me every single time I return. From the moment I arrive, the service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They do not just recognize me as a guest; they make me feel like part of the hotel family. The valet team and the doormen are incredible. They know exactly what I like, they remember my preferences, and they often have everything ready before I even get to the hotel. That level of personal attention and consistency is extremely rare, even at luxury hotels. The property itself is elegant, comfortable, clean, and beautifully maintained. It has the perfect balance of Beverly Hills sophistication and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are always well-prepared, housekeeping is excellent, and the entire hotel feels polished without ever feeling cold or impersonal. The food is another major reason I love this hotel. The menu is absolutely amazing, and you can tell it was created with real care and quality. I understand that the menu was designed by a former chef from a Michelin-level restaurant, and it absolutely shows. The ingredients are top quality, the dishes are thoughtful and delicious, and everything feels elevated. The room service is especially impressive: fast, accurate, beautifully presented, and consistently excellent. It is honestly some of the best hotel room service I have experienced anywhere. What separates this hotel from so many others is consistency. After 151 different stays, I can say with confidence that this team delivers again and again. The service, food, valet, rooms, atmosphere, and overall hospitality are all outstanding. It is very difficult for a hotel to maintain that level of excellence over time, but this property does it. As someone who travels often and has experienced many Marriott properties, this hotel stands out as one of my favorites. It feels like a home away from home, and the team deserves a tremendous amount of credit for making every stay feel personal and memorable. I felt like I got very good value out of the property, vs. other properties of comparable price point where I've had less pleasant experiences. Given the service and the location, the Avalon is hard to beat. Would absolutely return, especialy during the summer for the great pool.

There are two kind of hotels out there. Family friendly and business friendly. When I was here I didn't hear one peep. Not one- even though I saw a bunch of kids in the lobby. The reason I stayed here is because I wanted to shop on Rodeo and take all the cheesy, cringy tourist photos. But I didn't want to stay at any where where it would be loud. This hotel is only about 15 min walk or so from Rodeo. (I wouldn't recommend you walking at night but during the day time or even early evenings like 6-7pm. I would be fine. Don't be walking around here at 10pm. You do cut through some residental neighborhoods so just be aware. No idea what Beverly Hills curfew is like so just spend the $10 and uber home if you're going to be out after 8pm. Don't forget to call your parents to tell them you're going to be late for dinner.) The staff was very friendly and even though it was busy. These guys know how to move people through. They are chatty enough to be friendly and make you feel comfortable. But not so chatty that the person behind you is sighing loudly and treating you like the 65 years old woman who is still writing checking at the grocery store. The rooms are smaller but unless you're going to be hanging out in your hotel room. It really doesn't matter. Its got great lighting in the bath room for putting on your make-up. Hot showers, great amentities like shampoos and conditioners inside the shower. I brought my own because I'm particular about the kind of stuff I put in my hair but for thos who aren't. It's one less thing you don't have to pack. The room also has a hair dryer and an ironing board, a small fridge and a safe. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back again.

Staff were all very nice to my son and I, giving us a heads up they were closing and offered more food to my hungry teenage son who was very grateful. :) Close proximity to uber over to the mall or other areas to hang out and dine. We valet parked and did our thing for the weekend. Valet and staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Do be aware that homeless people congregate at the supermarket & spill out onto where the hotel is located. Clean & cozy beds, although the pillows (like most hotel pillows) were worn down thin. Strong shower pressure, & I like that the sink is separate from the actual bathroom. The second floor had a very spacious, comfortable lounge area, as well as what I consider to be this hotel's best feature -- an outdoor fire pit. Friendly & helpful front desk staff. Like many Marriott hotels, this one has a mini convenience store, of sorts, that sells snacks & toiletries in the lobby. If you're calling a rideshare, take note that it's a toss up whether they will be waiting at the front door or in the connecting garage a few steps away. We had a nice stay without incident, however I'd pick a hotel on a street with better scenery & more bustling activity on my next stay in Century City.

Nice room with a King size bed, the air conditioning was super cold, i like it cold, but it was cold for me. I was not happy with the shower as it was leaking and not sealed. Water went out the bathroom across the walkway almost to the closet. We used about 5 towels against the shower to soak up the water. We had unpacked our stuff, so didn't care to move to another room
