Far enough from the hustle and bustle. Quiet enough for mellow nights. Loved absolutely loved the rooftop bar with gorgeous sunset views. The awesome bartenders made the most delicious and pretty mocktails in the Western Hemisphere. Loved the restaurant chefs and team that were just so lovely and instantly and happily accommodated the special requests and cravings from our family. Everything was delicious L'Ermitage Beverly Hills has the most comfortable bed I have slept in. Loved the front desk staff especially the fantastic Jessica and the concierge team. This month I enjoyed 2 short but very sweet staycations at the L'Ermitage Beverly Hills. They were my first stays here, although the hotel has been on my radar for awhile. The hotel is situated on Burton Way, a wide (there's a landscaped centre road median) but residential road just east of City Hall and the main shopping district (ie, Rodeo Drive). The main reasons for my staycations was to dine at several buzzy restaurants--Funke, Monsieur Dior by Dominque Crenn, 88 Club and A.O.C. All are within walking distance of the hotel. The Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills is on the corner of Doheny Drive and Burton Way, a few blocks east of L'Ermitage and just beyond the Beverly Hills city border. The L'Ermitage has a disposition of quiet luxury. It began life as a residential building in 1975 before being converted into a luxury hotel. It looks very similar to the many residential buildings surrounding it, masking the hotel's understated elegance inside. I actually drove past it on my second visit. For both my visits a gentleman named Lucky assisted me at the front desk. Kudos to him. The rooms I was assigned were either Classic or Deluxe Classic Suites, the hotel's "smallest" rooms, although they really are Suites, starting at 650 square feet. The suites were similar but not identical. Both had spacious main rooms with a large sitting area, desk, fully stocked minibar and a balcony. The bathrooms were equally large with separate tub and shower. Between the bedroom and bathroom was an impressive dressing area with a vanity with adjustable lighting, a triptych (3-panel) mirror 2 large closets and a coffeemaker. The furnishings, decor and light switches were a little old-school, but still luxurious. Turndown service was classic old-school luxury. Both suites faced Burton Way, which can have some traffic noise. My second suite was in the same alcove as the guest elevators, which was not ideal, noise-wise. A nice fruit plate and bottled water is delivered to every new guest. On the 8th (top floor) is a fairly large fitness centre and some spa treatment rooms. There's apparently a salon onsite as well. On the roof is a nice pool, a large terrace for private events, and a pool-adjacent restaurant, Poza, which apparently was recently redone. Note you must take stairs to reach the roof, but there may be an elevator that was not immediately visible. I visited both of the hotel's restaurants, Poza and the all-day ground floor Costa Covo Osteria, both were reviewed separately. I also used the hotel's car service to take me to 88 Club and A.O.C. restaurants, although I walked back from both. Fun note--one of the drivers is also one of the concierges. Overall I enjoyed wonderfully sumptuous stays at this "hidden gem" "tucked away" in Beverly Hills, close to but not in the line of fire of all the "action". read more

I visited the lobby bar and the service was terrible. On 4/18 a tall, bald gentleman seemed too busy having a conversation with a couple that it took pretty long to get a drink. To add, a hotel guest got upset and left the bar for whatever reason so it was only me and the couple at the bar. Anyhow, I thought it was strange that this particular bartender didn't know how to speak. He never greeted me with a hi or welcome or bye or thank you when dropping off my bill. I guess it had to happen during the day but it lasted all day. Also I'm so confused. The restaurant off the lobby was so bad. Our original waiter was horrible, we were only given tap water (oh man I sound like such a douche), but seriously, there wasn't even a choice given and there wasn't one place, even the most casual of places that didn't offer Spring Water. If it wasn't for a charming conversation with Nabiel that we had, I would have blasted this place. Perhaps this restaurant and the hotel are not related? I was so confused that what seemed like a L'Ermitage restaurant got stellar Yelp reviews so we went and it was horrible. Like, the bread, the food... if I was at The House of Pancakes I would have set my expectations differently but it was portrayed as a quality restaurant. So, maybe it was our bad and we ate at a different place than the people that reviewed the L'Ermitage restaurant went and the one attached and open to the lobby was the wrong place. They were serving us wine but I opted for the mixed hard drinks which I could order from three selections on the menu. I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Items I left on the coffee table in my room were removed by housekeeping and thrown away. These were not near a trash can and were clearly not trash. I had empty shopping bags left on the dining table in another room of my suite that were untouched. When I brought this up to management, they did send the house driver to the store to try to replace what was taken, but my belongings should never have been thrown out in the first place. For a hotel in Beverly Hills, I expected a much higher level of care and professionalism. Losing personal belongings because staff doesn't pay attention is unacceptable. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this property. read more

I attended a Sunday afternoon birthday celebration at Poza. When I first drove up I waited, although there we no other cars until I got the attention of a "valet" and asked did they have valet parking. Once up on the rooftop, we were a few minutes early for our party so we went to the bar and ordered a glass of wine and guac and chips- we were told we had to pay our tab right away because they did not want to keep track of open tabs... we were the only ones there. Once our order arrived, no napkins- no one in sight to ask so I went into a side door which led me to the kitchen and I asked for napkins - now I'm coming back to the bar where a nice woman maybe a manager person observed the situation - the kitchen staff was about to give us paper napkins... she quickly apologized and got us cloth napkins and later gave us another glass of wine. Our family party was fine. The food was good. We had to stay on top of the staff for plates, napkins, cups for the buffet. We when left to get our car- the valet gave us our key and told us where the car was parked, I said its valet... will you please get my car. Not sure if this is the norm for a 5 star hotel- I expected a different level of service and attention to detail. read more

This hotel is chic, boutique and magnifique! While it appears to be underrated compared to the larger historical hotels in Beverly Hills, it does boast the Five-Star Hotel Award by Forbes Travel Guide and is ranked #1 of 21 hotels in the city on Tripadvisor, amongst a few other accolades. With being only 116 suites, it feels very exclusive and personalized. In my interactions with about 10 various employees of different levels, all were nothing short of excellent. I booked a Deluxe Classic Suite and they honored my particularities about the room location and level I wanted (located on second, third or fourth level). The back of the hotel is quiet but faces north and has the least amount of light, so I preferred a front south facing room despite being able to hear cars go by since it was right on the street (Burton Way). I also appreciated the fexible check-in/check-out policy. The bottled water, personalized card and fruit that greeted me in my room was a nice welcome. I can't remember ever having sweeter kumquats! My room was exceptionally clean and I am very particular, so much so that if I have any doubts of cleanliness I will never take a bath in a hotel's soaking tub. Here, I enjoyed a soak each night! It was divine, especially with the lovely scented Diptyque bath products. I was also happy to have a nice selection of drinks and snacks at my disposal, as I was wanting an uninterrupted two days of solitude. A half bottle of Sancerre, Sugarfina Gummies, and Amos Famous cookies were some of what I enjoyed - when in Rome! I also ordered room service for every meal and there was nothing I did not enjoy. Viceroy L'Hermitage is among a group of high end hotels in Beverly Hills. This one is on Burton Way and Foothill Drive close to the Beverly Hillls courthouse and Beverly Hills Tennis Club. Many family, friends and clients have stayed at this hotel and had great experiences. When meeting family, friends and or clients, I frequent this hotel for the amenities: rooftop pool, the lobby lounge connected to the current restaurant Avec Nous...both the pool and restaurant are COVID close until further notice. However, of the past times, my experiences were positive. Primarily, enjoy and like it's convenient location and upscale customer service. Also, it's not very touristy and more private that other hotels in BH. Lots of athletes and high profile celebrities prefer the low key yet posh amenities. Note worthy fact is Angelina Jolie's Mom took residence here for years. Also, Julia Roberts prefers this hotel for privacy and less crowds. This hotel is still operating, however, a recent article published in the LATimes revealed this swanky hotel was subject to fraud and embezzlement from the operating owners from Malaysia, specifically Mr. Jho Low, a Malaysian financier, who is a fugitive on the lam. He fraudulent dealings included fraudulent financial dealings involving the purchase of several properties with elicit funds from the Malaysian government. Updating my review as I had the opportunity to return to L'Ermitage recently. My partner and I stayed here for one night over the weekend. Since L'Ermitage offers flexible check-in time, we checked in shortly after lunch and spent our afternoon by the pool on the rooftop. We loved how the pool area wasn't super crowded like most hotels and the cocktails from the poolside bar were delicious. Then, we proceeded to dinner at Avec Nous, that serves classic French fare. The escargots and steak au poivre were our favorites. Now, down to our suite. We were assigned a room on a higher floor facing the back of the hotel and it made a WORLD of difference. It was so quiet and peaceful. Everything about our room was perfect - from the ultra plush towels, bathrobes and bed linens, to the thoughtful amenities like the Nespresso machine and electric kettle (you'd be surprised how many 5 star hotels miss the mark on these things). They even welcomed us with a gorgeous platter of seasonal fresh fruits! We snacked on the fruits for dessert, took a nice long bath in the gorgeous marble bathroom, and had the best sleep ever. I wish we could just move in. (TIP: if you're a light sleeper like me, ask the front desk to assign you a room that faces the back of the hotel as rooms right above Burton Way are more prone to noise.) L'Ermitage is small but don't mistake it for just a boutique hotel. The guest rooms are way more spacious, comfortable and updated than The Peninsula and better run than most five star hotels in the area. Stayed here for a change from our usual, The Peninsula and we weren't disappointed! The hotel is pretty and sits along a beautiful, tree-lined street in a great location. Our room was huge and included a mirrored reading desk, corner couch & coffee table, and an upholstered bench at the end of the bed. Everything was clean, modern, and bright and we had a great 180° view from the balcony. Between the room and the bathroom was a large changing area with a bench on one wall and floor to ceiling mirrors at the end. A long vanity table had a stool and dimmable makeup lights. Staff goes above and beyond 24/7 Facilities & Location - This hotel is right by the heart of beverly hills, about a 10 minute walk from the shopping and restaurants of Rodeo Drive. Location was very convenient for us. The hotel has a house car that will go within a two mile radius which was perfect to take us to dinner each night. Make your reservations through Norman or Christine from the concierge team and they'll book the car for you if it's available! The facilities are what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The lobby and bar area are sophisticated and slick. They make really good use of the space. Those with a keen eye will recognize the bar and entrance from the hit show Ballers on HBO - it was cool to sit in the same seats as the likes of Dwayne The Rock Johnson. We had the most basic room which was actually a fully fledged suite. I appreciate all-suite hotels like this one as you're able to really spread out without feeling guilty about the price. Our room featured a couch and coffee table, desk area, and vanity. We loved the dedicated vanity and stool for getting ready and the multiple light settings make it easy to do make-up, especially in preparation for events. The hotel offers in-suite hair and makeup service if you want to take it a step above. There is ample closet and drawer space which is important in an extended stay. The bathroom was decadent with a separate shower and tub. Above the dual his/her sinks is a mirror with a built-in TV. This was the first time I had seen that and it was a fun novelty. On the top floor were the hotels fitness and pool facilities. The fitness center is small but nice. Top-of-the-line equipment with a great view of the hills. The ice cold water, towels, and fruit were a nice touch as well. The pool is on the roof and it is similarly nice but small. While it was too chilly for a swim, we enjoyed having a drink on the terrace and watching the sunset. Ultimately both the facilities and the room itself were worthy of the hotel's five-star designation. If that wasn't enough - they monogram the pillow cases in your room! Service - The service is where this hotel shines. I have stayed at a great number of five star hotels in my life and I will say that this is definitely the best service I have ever received. The pre-arrival team did a great job via the concierge to coordinate our arrival and make reservations for dinner. The concierge provided detailed recommendations based on what we were looking for and helped us to arrange a great time. After arrival, we were offered complimentary water during check-in and arrived in our room to a welcome letter from the general manager along with fresh fruit and bottled water - I love a welcome amenity! Throughout our stay all of the staff remembered us and learned our names. Housekeeping service was timely and friendly both during the day and during evening turndown. The smooth jazz to welcome us back to bed after a long day was a great touch - by the way, there is an Alexa device in the room to play your own music if you wish. For whatever reason, we could not open the door to our balcony and the hotel sent an engineer up straight away to show us the trick - it was just stuck and needed a little elbow grease. The bar staff was friendly and quick even while busy - one night we came back later than usual and the bartender even offered to make us something on the house - of course we declined but that is the level of service they deliver. We were blown away by the dedication of the entire team. Food - Food is good, not great. We were definitely not disappointed. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant a few nights as well as cocktails at the bar. Cocktails were very good and we appreciated the home-made potato chips and tapenade as a complimentary bar snack. Dinner at the restaurant was pretty good. I really enjoyed the burger, but shockingly the star of the show was ketchup which they imported from France - WAY better than Heniz. We ordered room service for breakfast every day. No dishes really stood out but it got the job done. In-room bar is well-stocked with matching glassware. There is a bevmo nearby if you want to save some money. Value - The best way to book is through American Express as this hotel is part of their Fine Resorts and Hotel Program. By booking through AMEX, we paid a nightly rate of somewhere between $650 - $700 a night. Included was a $100 food and beverage credit, complimentary breakfast each morning (up to $60), free valet parking ($60/night), and guaranteed 4PM checkout. The late checkout was a game-changer for us as we had a late flight home. Overall this hotel is more than worth it at that price and I love the AMEX perks. This is for the bar/lounge area. The lounge is very nice with a fireplace. It's clearly overpriced and often empty so that's either good or bad depending if you want to be the only people there especially on a weeknight. Last time I was there the bar ran out of limes... how does that happen? I couldn't believe they didn't have any limes. Go to the market and buy a bunch!! Incredible 2 nights. Can't wait to return! Gus was amazing on helping us feel taken care of like family. Samantha checked us in and did a wonderful job of making us fell right at home. Room was one of the most beautiful and luxurious I've ever been in. Rooftop pool was perfect. Fitness center was gorgeously appointed. Meals at restaurant for dinner and breakfasts were perfect. Already missing this romantic getaway! Only one downside was the cold temperature in the hallways! read more

Stayed 3 nights while attending meetings in west LA. Excellent service and rooms are large and impeccably clean. The amenities in the room are hard to beat. Workout room is adequate with some weights and various Treadmills and elliptical equipment. The roof has a pool, nice view and nice area to relax. Hotel is in the city but very quiet inside. It is expensive but located convenient to west LA and century city area. It is a boutique hotel and they remember your name. read more

John Hamilton is THE BEST guest service agent I have interacted with in many years. He genuinely cares about proving exceptional customer service. He went above and beyond for my group and I was very pleased with his kindness and generosity. I highly recommend him and Viceroy L'Ermitage. Overall the hotel seems to hire very friendly team member with a high priority on customer service. L'Ermitage offers so much, an amazing wine selection, delicious food, first class service and is located minutes from the Rodeo Drive, Robertson and The Beverly Center. Centrally located to so much while the hotel is located in a quiet and calm location. I frequent many Beverly Hills restaurants and hotels for Corporate functions and evening dinning and L'Ermitage is back at the top of my list. Check them out for dinning or a weekend getaways. How many times have a drove by in the many years I have been here in L.A? I have no idea. Finally, I step in, but I did not check in. That wasn't​ my call​. I came to L'Ermitage to visit a friend of mine that was staying here, and I got my chance​ to check it out. The lobby is small even though they have a private area for clients' to relax while waiting (whatever that means). The bar is on the left side and wasn't that busy either except for few older men: two cute young girls taking reservation and a mature lady that seems to be one of the ​few who run this place. I wasn't that impress with the service because these ladies were​ not so friendly or warm. Why? Because, while I was waiting for the receptionist to announce my arriver. This other lady (who looks like a manager) made an entrance and did not even look at any of the clients ( in this case me and a couple that was checking out).​ She could have to​ say, " hello, good afternoon" Which is the minimum you can do to acknowledge every single person that walks that door!! Hello!!!!, where did you learn manners?​ However, the only guy that was open and welcome was another manager, a Hispanic nice man in his fifties who was very attentive. Also, the guys working the door were also friendly. The rooms are spacious, and the view from the balcony in my friends' room was directly facing the street. And even though, the traffic is always pack in this area, you couldn't hear a thing. The bathroom was spectacular; I could expend all day there. And the lighting was just right. This is the first time in history that I look in the mirror, and I find my self to be irresistible just because of the lighting. OMG! You guys don't know how important that is for a girl and guess what; this place got it right. However, overall my impression was that this​ hotel attracts a lot of older businesspeople​​ in town. I guess​ that's not my cup of te! But, maybe is yours! However, being here was a great experience, and my friend was overall a happy girl with her choice. read more
