    Lounge area with sunny patio.

Boutique hotel in West Hollywood. Reminded me of pleasant B&B in the south. Our room was small but very comfortable and clean, with a big bathroom, great toiletries, and the room had a bar, tv, robes, slippers. Quiet night considering it's near a busy area. There's a comfy lounge on the second floor where a light breakfast is served (muffins, yogurt, coffee, tea). Restaurants nearby if you want a larger meal. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel 850 SVB from June 02-25 to June 04-25, and the room was very nice, making it a pleasant first visit. However, we were unexpectedly charged an amenity fee of $25.00 per night (totaling $50.00), which wasn't mentioned on the website or in our confirmation. When we asked the staff, they explained it covers bikes, breakfast, and the honor bar. We never used the bikes, the breakfast was minimal (see attached photo), and the honor bar wine was poor quality with no service support. This lack of transparency and the unjustified fee left us disappointed. We'd love to recommend this hotel, but can't until this is addressed. Hope management resolves this for future guests.

I love this place. Hotel 850 in West Hollywood may be one of the best stays in all of Los Angeles. The service is exceptional and the rooms are beyond comfortable. There's great attention to detail at every turn and the location is just right. I do recommend.

I had a really lovely stay at this hotel, and hope that I get to visit again soon!! My check-in was very easy and the front desk staff was so kind and accommodating. I can not say one negative thing about the staff. From management, to front desk, to housekeeping, to valet, everyone was fabulous and kind. You can tell the establishment values excellent customer service and has curated a strong team. The hotel itself is adorable! The pictures online don't do it justice, but it is fabulously decorated and clean. There were so many lovely touches throughout the property, and in the rooms, that gave it a very upscale feel. I have zero complaints about the setup of the room. My room was perfect size with a small terrace for a single traveler, but two would have fit just fine. I reserved the "Comfortable" room type and was assigned Room 33. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows, smelled delightful upon entry, and was even at a perfectly cool temperature on my arrival. It had in room amenities for purchase, and complimentary items as well. All of the shampoos/conditioners/soaps had the most delightful rose scent! The only negative about my room was the noise that came from Santa Monica Blvd. The clubs there were bumpin' during the weekdays until about 2am each night throughout my stay. The hotel clearly can't do anything about that, so just be aware that you might hear some noise if you're a light sleeper like me and plan accordingly. I ended up getting ear plugs and that did the trick. I loved the continental breakfast that was included with my stay! They displayed assorted pastries, croissants, yogurts, fresh ginger and lemons, orange juice, coffees, espresso based beverages, and teas. It was organized beautifully and delicious. The manager told me they brought in the pastries from a local french bakery, and you could tell... they were so good! I also LOVED that they left the breakfast out until 10am. They also served complimentary wine on their terrace from 5pm-7pm! I didn't get a chance to participate in that, but the terrace was adorable, so I imagine that would have been lovely. I had to check out early due to work but the front desk staff and manager were incredibly professional and worked with me towards a resolution that accommodated my work requirements and finances, as well as upheld their hotel policies. I was very impressed by their flexibility, kindness and prompt attention. One last thing that was really cool... when you check into the hotel they send you a text message where you can ask questions anytime during your stay! It was really useful and something I've never experienced at any hotel before. I even used it to request a copy of my folio by email after I checked out, and the staff replied and resent it. Thank you Virginia, Josh, Winston and the rest of the Hotel 850SVB staff!

Room 22 was extremely warm and uncomfortable. It is a nice property and evening staff was attentive. After numerous complaints they offered to move us across the street but that was at 11pm we were so tired already after a long day. Wished they would have offered sooner. Breakfast had a very limited selection of items so we went out to eat at a nice place nearby BBCM Sunset. Housekeeping staff was friendly. Wished the room was more comfortable we came up from San Diego to relax and disappointed. At least Moulin Rouge made up for it. Great show!!

Wasn't sure what to expect at this hotel. It looks more like a house from the outside but it is most definitely a hotel. They have a small check-in desk where it was simple and easy to get checked in. The location here is perfect if you like west hollywood. Everything is within walking distance and you don't have to walk down a dark sketchy street to get to the hotel. Perfect spot. The hotel is smaller and doesn't have the feel of the big chains but still has all the qualities of a great hotel. They originally put us in a room next to the check in desk but switched us to the 4th floor when we asked if they had anything else. The room on the 4th floor was beautiful and had a sick balcony. The bathroom was spacious and the hotel was quiet and clean. In the mornings, they have breakfast on the 2nd floor terrace that consists of danishes, croissants, and other small items. No eggs or anything but still does the job for breakfast. The only hiccups was there was some confusion on the cleaning service and turn down service. The other issue was the ac didnt work in the room but they fixed that right away. Overall, I really liked our stay. I would recommend for anyone coming to LA who doesn't want your run of the mill turn and burn hotel chain. Check this place out you won't be disappointed.

An idea location to stay for those who have a little familiarity with LA and are looking for a chic, low key boutique hotel to stay at whilst spending their days out and about. It's location is good, about a 10 minute ride from the events epicenter of the Waldorf Astoria, Peninsula and Beverly Hilton hotels. It feels very much like you are staying at someone's home and very relaxing. Service is good and housekeeping excellent (had a minor maintenance issue which was resolved whilst I was out of the room - prompt). The rooms are nicely done, mine had a fireplace and cozy. The rooms also have alarm clocks with 2 USB charging ports and a simple human mirror in the bathroom. Then potential downsides include no gym (though their is preferential access at a fee to a local classes orientated gym nearby), no restaurant - though a kitchen has coffee available all day plus snacks (fruit, muffins and nibbles). A breakfast fresh pastries (see photo) are added to the mix. The lounge is very relaxing and it is hard not to feel at home. Minor points of improvement - I could hear water all night outside somewhere near the room - even when not raining. Other than that, a great hideaway and one I hope to revisit.

Just checked in! Clean, peaceful, (Moderate street noise in back of property)and comfortable. Nice mini bar with snacks. Roomy bathroom. Wonderful lighting with privacy. This is better than some 5star resorts I've stayed. If In WEHO definitely give a try. Parking is extreme $48 overnight but it is what is.

My friends did not disappoint recommending Short Stories Hotel. My room was a Standard Queen with a small sitting area. The room was nicely sized, with a small bar, safe and refrigerator. A couple of things: some rooms will probably be noisier than others depending on the location. My room was on the 2nd floor and faced the pool area. The back side of the hotel faces apartment homes and that can be a little noisy if they are having a get together outside. Also, the room did not come with an iron or ironing board (this is a need for me), however the front desk will bring one to your room if you request it. This is a smaller property, with a lobby bar that also serves food. There is a great outdoor seating/courtyard area where guests can enjoy some quiet time reading, or at times having a drink and socializing - they also offer free coffee and tea each morning. The pool area is smaller than most hotels, but it fits well with the rest of the decor. The front desk had someone there 24/7 and they were great as far as offering suggestions on places to eat, how far some things were, etc. I felt pretty safe staying in this hotel and had no problems coming back from a night out, or getting an uber quickly. They also offer valet parking if you have a car. This property sits on Fairfax directly across the street from The Farmer's Market and the Grove shopping center. It is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, museums, and a short Uber to the La Brea Tar Pits and Melrose area shopping. If you get a chance, head to the Fairfax open Marketplace which is about a mile away from the hotel. Open each Sunday, is has many local vendors selling everything from clothes, candles, music, home decor items, etc. This hotel was a little over $300 per night, but the location made it worth every penny. I walked most places and had a short Uber ride to other areas. When I come back to Los Angeles, I will stay there again - I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this property.

So I called the front desk to ask for new bath towels, waited for an hour.. didn't come. Called again waited another 30 mins, still never come. On the check out day, one of the staff was banging the door when I was in the shower. Which was ridiculous because I talked to the front desk the night before that I am going to have late check out. I was rushing to wear my clothes to answer the door, and realised he already opened my room door. Which means, luckily i was dressed.. if not, he would see me naked. And I feel this is super disrespectful! Why would u open someone's door without permission? Then the whole conversation he was so rude, with an attitude, said I didn't have late check out, late check out is not guarantee and only gave me 10 mins to leave the room and will have penalty. I was shocked. At the end when I check out. I was asking for the staff's name who is kicking people out. And the front desk was trying to cover up for him and said they don't know who that is. I am like.. Come on, how could you not know your coworker's name? So they finally gave me a name " Johnathan" which I don't know if they made it up or not. But anyways, this is the experience I had in this hotel. Definitely not recommend this hotel because of the service and cleaningness for this price.

The room itself was excellent, but the overall experience was severely damaged by a serious valet incident. On my last day, I handed my luggage to valet staff before breakfast and also gave them my car key to retrieve my vehicle, as valet parking was the only option at $75 per day. After breakfast, I drove off and later realized my luggage was not in the trunk. I immediately returned to the hotel and found that my luggage had been mistakenly placed in another guest's vehicle. The lobby manager initially reviewed security footage and attempted to contact the driver, but communication quickly became slow and inconsistent over the following weeks. I later followed up in person again, but progress remained unclear and delayed. More than three weeks passed without resolution, and it appeared that contact with the driver had been lost. We then had to escalate the issue to Hyatt headquarters before the claims process finally moved forward. The entire process, from late February to the end of April, was extremely slow. What was most disappointing was not just the initial mistake, but the lack of urgency, poor coordination, and unclear communication throughout the recovery and claims process. I understand errors can happen, but I paid for valet service and expected proper responsibility and follow-through. My luggage contained luxury clothing, cosmetics, medication, and essentials for relocation. The handling of this situation significantly worsened an already stressful incident. I hope Hyatt takes this feedback seriously and improves its valet accountability and crisis response process.

It is situated literally next to the Sunset Tower Hotel which is a celebrity hotspot and extremely expensive. The Andaz Hotel is across the street and Saddle Ranch and the famous Comedy Store are maybe a one or two minute walk away. The room was very nice and the bathroom was good-sized. The shower was also excellent (except the body wash in the wall dispenser was empty--hey, it's a Best Western, did you expect perfection?). There is a free continental breakfast and it is fine. The pool is good-sized but there were no towels available when we arrived. Again...this ain't the Beverly Hills Hotel. The self-parking garage is on the other side of the property and is connected to the hotel. Be aware: some rooms, like ours, overlooked Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard is extremely loud, especially at night. If that may disturb you, ask for a room facing the other way. Unfortunately, the worst thing going for this hotel is the clientele. Yes, this is a budget hotel chain but the prices you pay at this particular spot are far higher solely because of its location. Sadly, some of the guests were incredibly noisy and rude and apparently, smoking at the pool is perfectly acceptable. I could give other unfortunate examples. So this pricier budget hotel still attracts a very budget crowd. Would I stay here again? If I wanted to be in this location without paying $500 or more a night, yes.

This was my fourth stay at Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel, and it just keeps getting better…read more The hotel was recently remodeled, and the transformation is beautiful. The rooms feel modern, fresh, and incredibly clean, with a cozy boutique vibe that you wouldn't normally associate with a Best Western. In fact, when you think of "Best Western," this is definitely not what comes to mind -- it feels more like a charming, stylish boutique hotel tucked right into the heart of West Hollywood. I stayed on the third floor with easy access to the backyard pool area, and it was such a relaxing setup. The little patio and pool space are absolutely beautiful -- peaceful, well-kept, and perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the whole stay feel warm and inviting. They also offer breakfast, which is such a great bonus, and the manager is truly amazing -- welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring about guests' experiences. Even though there are much fancier hotels nearby, I would choose this one again in a heartbeat. It feels personal, cozy, and special. I'll absolutely be coming back over and over again.
