Owned by a family that couldn't be nicer or more accommodating, this is THE place to stay in Door County. You're on the edge of the peninsula and you have a gorgeous view of Potawatomi State Park and Sturgeon Bay along the lake. They have a few cottages for rent, though, since it's family owned and operated, a lot of the same families that have known these people for years continue to book it up every summer. It's definitely worth checking into, though. Each of the cottages can accommodate a different number of people, so whether you have 2 people in your group, or 7, they can find a place for you. If it's your thing, they also own 2 cottages on an island in the middle of the bay, so the only way to or from the cottage is by boat. I think that's pretty cool! Only about 20 minutes away from downtown Sturgeon Bay, it offers the perfect combination rural and small-town life. The roads leading to it are rarely traveled, so my family likes to take long bike rides along the roads and we're rarely caught around cars. It's also close to Sherwood Point Lighthouse and quite a few other rental cottages. The cottages themselves aren't air conditioned, though the weather is usually pretty cool near the lake. The only other rough condition is the spider and insect population. You're in the middle of the woods, so you have to know you're visiting their world, but I couldn't handle the amount of bug-life I had to endure. I'm kind of an indoor girl, so it's a little more than I can handle after a long period of time. Just for vacation, though, I can try and make my peace with living with the spiders. **shudder** My family and I will continue to visit Robertson's in the future, though, and it'll still be one of the highlights of the year!!

We came here for a very large meeting that lasted the weekend with different social functions. Front of the house staff were so friendly and accommodating, food service in the Carrington restaurant was delicious. We have been here for summer visits and outdoor facilities, pools fire pit areas great. Great place for family and friend to get together. Our happy place!!

The view is great from the common area and rooms and it is a good location. However, there are many cons that make me really consider not coming back especially after this recent trip. The plates were filthy, literally had old food smears on them. The photos don't show the true filth. The room and appliances are not only dated but dirty. The coffee machine was filthy and they only gave one pack of coffee when we stayed multiple days. Coffee filters were not easy to find. I would not be surprised if things are not sanitized between guests. The paper towel is always left at the end of the roll upon arrival with no replacements . Also no room accommodations that I know of, no daily cleaning like other hotels let alone this being a "resort". Also there will be only one extra toilet paper roll if you're lucky. Outdoor pools are not in operation often and drained. The connected restaurant always takes forever to get your food and very hard to even get a water refill. The blinds are extremely difficult to operate to see the view you paid for and the balcony has carpet which is not clean. Trying to get to the patio is difficult as they have long blinds that will not open well and will often fall off. The shower is awful, dirty and low pressure. They do not replace towels unless you call and I discovered a "guest services" charge that I am going tk call about. The front desk staff is never welcoming or approachable anytime I have gone. Even then, it seemed the place had few guests, and we were able to book just a couple weeks before - almost unheard of in Door County in late July. Service is non-existent. There was a teenager at the front desk to check us in -- the ONLY time we saw ANY other staff was Thursday evening when the bartender was locking up (at 7:00). No one made up rooms or exchanged linens - linen closet was left open for us to help ourselves. Sign on front desk said it was staffed ONLY from 9AM to 2 PM, but even with those short hours we never saw anyone in our four-nite stay. Restaurant is closed (again, PRIME SEASON) - bar is open only a couple nites per week, and then only 2-7 PM. No one available in case of emergency. Everything is REALLY outdated. Smells musty, with dehumidifier/air-conditioning units running full blast in both rooms of our suite when we arrived. Bathroom has been updated, but rest of the room is dark and gloomy. Window curtains are very sheer, so you better like waking up with the sunrise. Wi-fi is pretty weak, only one small TV. It was good to find a room on fairly short notice, and we had a very active four days with little time in the room, so it was "adequate" - but NOT someplace we'll stay again.

Wow! That's my one-word review for Edgewater. I stayed in one of their small condos while I was…read morevisiting Door County, and it was a spectacular experience. I knew this place would be great when I stepped into the condo and saw that my bedroom had a giant jacuzzi tub in it. Plus a fireplace in the bedroom and the living room! The coziness and luxuriousness was turned up all the way to 11 here. My condo also had a balcony that faced east and overlooked Lake Michigan. I visited when it was snowy and cold, so I didn't get to sit out on the balcony, but I loved looking at the sun coming up over the water every morning. The condo had a full kitchen: refrigerator, stove and oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, bar counter seating, all of the utensils and dishes and cups and storage space you could desire. It was like a home away from home. Plus, there was a living room, small dining room, and a big bathroom, with a shower that had great water pressure. If I visited during warmer weather, I would have taken advantage of the pool outside. But I visited when there was snow on the ground, so the pool was closed, obviously. They do have a gym here. I was able to visit the fitness center each day of my stay, and it also has a dry sauna! I didn't use it, but I love that they offer a sauna. Inexplicably, the fitness center also had a bookshelf full of books that you can borrow. The woman at the check-in/check-out desk was lovely, and gave me lots of good tips about the local Door County scene and suggested that I visit a local bar (Bad Moravian), which I ended up visiting and loving. The front desk also has a big bowl of chocolates, so make sure you grab a handful when you stay here.

We were told this was due to the building being so old, and that we should have called for maintenance every time we wanted to close/secure them. (We ended up propping oven racks and a cutting board inside the window tops to prevent them from being opened from the outside.) The doors didn't line up either making it impossible to open them fully. If you don't mind dealing with some of the issues that come along with an older building, this one definitely has a wonderful view and some convenient amenities.

The long time owners and proprietor chose to enjoy a very well deserved retirement this past year with a sale of the property. We unknowingly were aware that the entire property will be razed in a few months. This decision led to no updates, maintenance and failed pool accommodations. We were told some people still have reservations for the end of season so hopefully management will honor those with increased service and staff access. Great place being pushed out for more condos and removing affordable accommodations in the Door county region. We wish them success as we were told it's not in our price range. We got a room that was up one level from the lobby but it was great the parking was on that level also. So our room was a great set up we had a balcony that was nice to sit on and relax. A small kitchenette, bathroom, couch, table, a good size bed and a whirlpool tub. That was very relaxing after the long days of hiking and walking. They had an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, grills if you want to cook and it was very easy getting to my room. It was not peek time so they were not super busy yet. And that was perfect for us. They also were participating in garage sale weekend that we did not even know was around town. That was fun also
