The Inn itself could really use an update. It's stuck in the 90s, and not in a charming way. Everyone who worked there was nice. I think we'd return to have dinner, but I wouldn't stay here again (despite the really good cookies you get).

It was indeed a type of cherry and had alcohol. I was grateful we had asked before trying myself at 8 months pregnant. My husband got the pressed 1/2 chicken and we both loved it. It had an incredible depth of flavor, great seasoning. I got the braised short ribs and enjoyed these as well. However, I wished they had been served with mashed potatoes instead of what I believe were grits. We ended our meal with the flourless chocolate cake which was the perfect cherry on top. Caramel spoons with popped amaranth on top were served with our check. Nice touch! Cozy atmosphere, nice fire crackling and friendly servers. What more can we ask for?

Note to self: next time don't wait a week to find out whether it was confirmed or not. I finally called and talked to Sharon about not receiving confirmation. And sure enough, there was nothing booked under my name. Sharon went above and beyond to try to accommodate us. And she was amazing. The Customer Service you will find during your stay here is exemplary. From the immaculate rooms, to the staff that you will encounter. We would absolutely stay here again. Actually, we can't wait to book our next stay. ( I've never seen a cleaner bathroom in all of my stays anywhere) Located at the very end of Main Street, it is a quiet, peaceful, picturesque location. Once we parked our car and checked into the motel, whenever we wanted to explore the town, we left our car and walked. Fish Creek is an incredibly walkable town. Especially Main Street. So close to everything. It's just our favorite place in the world. So, if you are thinking of visiting Fish Creek and want a lovely clean, comfortable stay, I can't recommend Main Street Motel enough.

The food was fresh and delicious-there was no doubt about who was making it because it was done in the same room. The Inn is right in the bustle of town so its easy to walk for shopping, different restaurants, going to the water (etc) but you never hear any noise inside of our room. Thorpe House is reasonably priced if you're celebrating something like we were. It was like stepping back in time but nothing felt dated. They fill up really quickly so get a room booked as soon as you know when your trip is! We will absolutely come back the next time we're in the area!

The jacuzzi tub -- one of the reasons we booked -- was filthy, clearly not cleaned properly before our stay. We also paid for a horse‑drawn carriage ride, which was canceled due to weather. That part was understandable. What wasn't understandable was the complete lack of communication about the replacement trolley ride being one‑way only. We were dropped off and left to walk back to the B&B in bitter cold temperatures with no warning. Breakfast was another disappointment. What was served tasted reheated and stale, like it had been sitting around far too long. And the truffles we ordered -- which should have been a special touch -- were stored in the laundry room and all tasted like detergent. For the price and reputation, we expected a warm, welcoming, and well‑run experience. Instead, we left cold, frustrated, and extremely let down. We won't be returning.

This trip in 2024 we picked Homestead Suites and couldn't be happier. The place is spotless! We had a fireplace (although it was too warm out to use) and great place on the first floor. We used the outdoor pool daily and also their bike locker room. I brought my Trek bike and did a daily ride in Peninsula State Park - which is right next door. This was also only a 10 minute walk to downtown Fish Creek. We'll be back!

She gave us good recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The grounds are very well kept and every cabin has a view of the lake. We stayed 4 nights in September in cabin #4; the a view from the living room is included. Try Sister Bay Bowl for a wonderful fish dinner and be sure to climb the tower in Peninsula State Park. The tower was recently rebuilt and includes a ramp to accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. The White Gull Inn, just down the street, has won awards for their stuffed french toast. The Cottages are in the heart of Fish Creek so walking to your favorite destination is very convenient.

The pictures posted online consist of just three of them, and I didn't get a feel for how small the place really was from those photos. The shower was so small it was frustrating to use. I'm not a big guy by any means, tall or wide. We didn't have any issues with the noise from screen doors or similar, likely because of when we were actually there and it was not super busy. It's nice to get a parking space that's pretty much guaranteed for your stay, and there are plenty of nice places to walk in the area. From their pictures, it would appear that their other areas are bigger. Personally, I wouldn't stay in a motel room here again. When we were on our last day and preparing to leave, room service took all of the clean sheets and towels and placed them on the dirty outside chair for over an hour. In my book, it's not acceptable at all. Having the expectation of clean sheets going on a bed without them sitting outside on a dirty chair beforehand seems obvious.

I'm an early riser so I brought my own coffee maker. Second no microwave to heat up all those wonderful left overs from going out to eat, but again the owners of the hotel said just bring your food over to the office and they would heat it up for you. For the price of this Motel I expect these items in my room.
