We did the Mystic Falls tour that was 4 hours long. We drove by & stopped at a few of the sites of the Vampire Diaries & The Originals were filmed. The ladies were very nice but none of it seemed very professional. The bus wasn't very clean and you just got the feeling of rundown. We went way out to see some remote locations which had its plus & minus. You are not getting to go onto most locations property cause they are private property. Definitely check into other tour places available and book early. read more

My husband and I took this tour to see the Vampire Diaries sites in Covington. The tour guide was super friendly and funny. We really did like the tour the only thing I wish I would had known is you don't get to go up close to the Lockwood mansion, or to the porch swing of Elainas house. To be called a "Covington Movie Tour" too much time was spent on Vampire Diaries only. A little bit on Heat of the Night. Nothing on Dukes of Hazzard. Cursory mentions of 1-2 movies. Not what we expected. This tour should've more accurately been titled "Vampire Diaries Tour" and we would not have signed up for that tour. The highlight was stopping at Twelve Oaks and going inside, but even that focused on Vampire Diaries scenes only. read more

This tour is a must for all Heat of the Night fans! We visited Covington to find out all about the TV show. We stayed in the 'Heat of the Night' room at the Twelve Oaks B&B and picked up some brochures w/self-guided tours of historical homes and various movie/TV locations, including the Heat of the Night. After we drove around Covington using their brochures, we thought we had seen it all. But the next morning when we took the Main Street Trolley Tour, we were pleasantly surprised to get the 'back story' about the TV show. Our tour guide, Karenda, grew up in a town nearby where most of the cast lived for years during the TV series. She had spoken to Carroll O'Connor many times. She had a wealth of information about where certain episodes were filmed, including the episodes filmed at the Twelve Oaks B&B. Her and our driver went out of their way give us a great tour. You won't find out the true story behind The Heat of the Night by taking a self-guided tour using any of the brochures at the Welcome Center. Only their tour gives you the inside scoop. So if you want to know where the warehouse with the 'Movie Sets' was, where the 'restaurant on the veranda' of the lovely mansion was , where Bubba's 'other' apartment was, where the Sparta water tower was, or where 'the Bottoms' were - you have to take the Main Street Trolley 'Heat of the Night' tour and ask Karenda to find out! read more

Let me start by saying that we've done tours with Mainstreet Trolleys before and held similar expectations for the Hello Brother tour. We did the Thursday 9am tour and were truly the guinea pigs. Our bus driver was amazing (we've had her before) and our tour guide was funny at times, but the overall experience was lacking. First, we had to wait 15 minutes for someone the tour guide knew to get there for the tour, even though it was made clear from the beginning that the bus would pull out sharply at 9 and there would be no waiting on stragglers. We literally pulled out and went straight to a rest area for "emergency" bathroom breaks-come on people, we all knew it would be a 4 our tour and should have gone to the restroom ahead of time like good kindergarteners. We wasted quite a bit of time on failure of others to plan, leaving the tour feeling rushed. We were only able to get out at 4 locations and each time we were made to take a large group photo and had "two minutes" to take our own photos. I have no desire to be in a photo with 70 other people. ALSO, 2 minutes is not enough time for 70 people to take photos in front of a house. I don't care if you explain it by saying the property owners only gave us a certain amount of time at each location. It felt like we paid $150 to ride around and be part of your marketing project. Some of the drive by locations, we didn't slow down and you couldn't even really see Josephine LaRue's house for all the branches out front. If you're excited about seeing that one, take your own car because you won't halfway see it from the bus. If you were hoping to see the downtown Covington homes of some of the main characters, you won't see it on this tour, but I will say that the Covington Movie Tour has been great in the past. I feel like there should have at least been a drive by of some of these homes... and we were so close to the gas station where Katherine sabotaged Stefan's car! Last, getting food and shirts was a cluster. Lunch was after the tour, but pickup of lunch/shirts was at the same time as the next tour so 160 people were all trying to get in line and had to wait for someone to check the list to see what you ordered. I skipped lunch (so can't tell you if it was good or not) since the only options were burritos, though you could choose chicken, beef, or vegetarian. 2 . Would not recommend this specific tour. With a four hour tour, I expected to get out and see awesomeness. I expected stories and anecdotes. This isn't unattainable...I've done the Covington Movie Tour with MST and it was amazing! Instead, this time I received a tour with 80 people that felt like a blatant money grab solely because the convention is in town. Take away the shirt and lunch and I would still be unhappy if this was a $30 tour with this many people...10-20 people may have been a different story. Not worth the $150 paid. After this experience, I will not likely buy a "specialty" tour like this again from MST. The price tag should have brought us better locations and more organization. read more

This tour was perfect! My friend and I took this tour after the rude people at the vampire stalkers tour cancelled, this tour was longer and way cheaper then the other one! The tour guide was absolutely amazing we saw so many things from tvd (more then the other tour even planned on showing us) and we got to see and hear about all the different shows filmed in Covington. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in the vampire diaries or even sweet magnolias! read more

This was the best tour I have ever been on. We are huge vampire diaries fans and they took us to every location to see all the main houses, and several different scenes that took place on vampire diaries in mystic fall. Our tour guide was awsome and funny. She was very enthusiastic and was very knowledgeable on the historical background of mystic falls. The bus driver was very nice and funny also they work very well together to make the experience very nice. We traveled from Florida and I would definitely bring friends back to go on this tour. I highly recommend going on this tour the price was excellent and I feel we saw more then what we would have on any other tour of mystic falls. read more
