Really enjoyed my stay here.Felt the room was neat, clean and spacious. Stayed in the heat of the night suite one of nine rooms on site and named for the TV shows an movies filmed in covington. They have a pool which was also clean and well kept.Merry the innkeeper is a delight, well informed of the area and the most amazing chef. The breakfast she prepared was delicious Make sure to enjoy sippin and nibbling hour where you mingle with merry and other guests and learn about the history of the inn.Nice size parking lot and within walking distance to town.Vampire Diaries fans this is a must, as filming was done here as well as in town.Looking forward to my next visit back.

The absolute coziest stay. Quintessential southern charm. I was in awe at all the details (refurbished but still 1800's!). The location was ideal, with walking distance to the main town square. Breakfast was so hearty - Mary is the cutest. Can't recommend enough! So happy we were able to support this business.

This is the kind of place you never want to leave! I stayed one night in the Heat of the Night Suite when I was passing through Georgia. Everything was so beautiful, antique, and clean. The service was amazing, the facility and parking lot is safe, and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic! The whole house is so beyond charming and cozy. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever passing through the area.

We arrived for a long weekend after 6 p.m. A note and our room key was left for us. Parking was easy just behind the mansion. Our room and the entire inn was clean and immaculately decorated with high-end antiques. We simply loved the restroom in the Frankly Scarlett room. The showers offered a luxurious experience. This room even offers a working gas fireplace but you may have to seek assistance with the inn keeper to learn how to use it because the remote to it may or may not work. I enjoyed the reclining chairs. I would've loved more dressers in the room to place clothes and to store things. Our room had none. There is no cable TV but firestick and roku options. With a key and key code, you can come and go as you please. The breakfast is awesome. I'm a person who can eat grits with any thing. They serve delicious and creamy grits. I love a thicker consistency and these are perfect. They have a 5 pm to 6 pm Sips and Nips period where you sample and socialize, but if your room is on the first floor it can get a little loud especially if you are trying to rest and relax. They do a lot of movie filming in and around this location so they are often closed Destin those periods. There were currently filming Vampire Diaries in the town when we visited. The rooms are often movie-themed or culturally themed. Overall, this is one of the better and more nostalgic bed and breakfasts in the area that is well-maintained. They are on the pricier side but you pay for the history, location, and amenities. They are a great location for weekend getaways from the city, for weddings, bridal showers, and receptions but with some minor additions to the rooms and a little more attention to customer convenience in the rooms, Twelve Oaks would offer a truly immaculate experience.

Omg I am absolutely obsessed with this house. It's beautiful, well managed, loved, cared for, etc. the house is sooooo stunning. And omg the French toast they serve for breakfast is probably the best French toast I've ever had! Absolutely amazing stay!

We just returned home from Twelve Oaks and we had an amazing time. The Innkeeper Amy was so nice as well as everyone else there. The mansion is so clean and beautiful. It was myself, my husband and our 3 daughters (ages 15, 14 and 10). We were in the Master Suite. It was the perfect size for the five of us and so beautiful. We all just loved hanging out in the room. Also, the breakfast that Amy makes I delicious. The biscuits with sausage gravy were the best we've had. One of my daughters is so picky and does not like grave on anything , but she ate all of it! We did visit Covington for the Vampire Diaries/Originals/Legacies and we loved the town and all the restaurants but most of all we loved the Twelve Oaks and cannot wait to plan another stay!

I happened to come upon this place when looking at places to stay in Covington and was obviously blown away by the stature and charm of the home. We stayed in the "in the heat of the night" themed room. It was super cute and spacious for two people. Had an enclosed sun room too. Overall experience from start to finish was impeccable. We had hoped to check in by 4pm so we could enjoy their sips and bites from 5-6pm but ended up arriving at 545pm. I actually received a text around 5pm asking for our ETA which I thought was very kind. Check in was super easy, we were shown to our room and then headed downstairs where they had wine, cheese, crackers and other yummy bites. It's then only a short walk to the square for shopping and dining. In the morning, we headed to the dining area for breakfast where we were greeted with a delicious parfait, coffee and OJ. We were then served eggs, pancakes and sausage, all of which was very good. Be sure to take time to just sit on their rocking chairs and watch the world go by. We also enjoyed walking around the grounds. Not sure when we will be back, but it was certainly an unforgettable experience.

This place is stunning! I only came to do a photoshoot but I fell in love! The house is stunning at first glance, but the more you walk through it, the better it is. The rooms are spacious and have beautiful beds and bathrooms. The lawn and garden are lovely and there's even a swing out front. The hostesses were so kind and helpful. I can only personally recommend this as a place for photos for now, but I will definitely be back to stay the night!

We had an amazing trip to Covington and this B&B was perfect. We had a last minute addition to our group and they were very accommodating. We stayed in Suite Home Alabama. It's a beautiful room. We enjoyed the Southern Sippin' and Nibblin' Hour on both days of our stay. The first day we sat and enjoyed the other guests, on the second day we enjoyed our wine in the rocking chairs out front. Breakfast was incredible both mornings. They had a fruit and yogurt parfait to start. Our first morning was eggs, sausage and french toast. Our second morning we enjoyed biscuits and gravy with eggs. The town square was within walking distance and its a very pleasant walk. We were very happy with our choice to stay here

Stunning B&B! Our stay was amazing thanks to the caring family who runs the B&B. Highly recommend for your stay in Covington!

Amazing B&B! Highly recommend for your stay in Covington. The property is stunning and caretakers ensure your stay is wonderful.

Wonderful place for a mother & daughter girls trip! We stayed in the Frankly Scarlet Junior suite - it was perfect. Reading in a rocking chair on the porch was so relaxing. We felt safe in the Bed & Breakfast - even on the first floor, also walking into town & walking back after dinner. Mita was a wonderful host so much helpful local information and history! The breakfasts were amazing also! Can't wait to return for another visit!

The parking could use some better signage. The food service went smoothly. Utilizing two lines is great. They squeezed far too many people in the room. Very claustrophobic. The bridal party table is located in front of the bathrooms. Rather awkward location. The sound system is AWFUL. If you want people to listen to you, they need to be able to hear you. The EMCEE needs to reduce the amount of corny jokes. We are here for the bride and groom, not you...sorry, not sorry. The plastic bags on the lights on the patio are super tacky. The use of real linens is very nice but I wish that had included linen napkins too (perhaps a client choice?)

We didnt book or pay for our room, so I am clueless there. I would guess somewhere around $100 to $110 a night? Our room was great - huge king bed, jacuzzi tub, balcony access - my only thing is there isn't a shower. It wasn't the end of the world since our family was in the next room and we could sneak over there, but it wouldn't be ideal to be in that room for a weekend if you didn't know the neighbors. The breakfast spread was lovely - pastries, muffins, waffles, cereal, yogurt, granola bars, coffee, orange juice, apple juice - we definitely didn't leave hungry. My complaint about it is (of course) the floors and stairs are a bit squeaky. Probably fine if no one is above you or people aren't getting in late, but we had just laid down to go to bed and guests arrived for the room right above us. The property was lovely and the staff went above and beyond. We were there for the entire wedding - rehersal, wedding, reception - and had no issues.

I was traveling with my 9 y/o daughter from CA and was concerned about staying at the local hotel due to some concerning reviews. When I shared this with Jenny on the phone, she said, "I'll take care of you guys" with Southern charm and made me feel so comfortable that I booked our week-long accommodation on the spot! Everything was perfect! The Cottonmill Suite was so lovely - spotless, the bed was comfortable, we had AC, flatscreen tv and more than enough space to relax and unwind! Every morning we were spoiled with a yummy breakfast, with eggs from their local farm (which my daughter got to visit), pancakes, bacon....and the works! Every afternoon, there were free goodies available....including banana bread & brownies! On Friday night, we enjoyed a candlelight dinner, with dessert brought up to our room. Jenny & Teddy (and all the workers) were so great! Every need and request was met with a smile and "yes, ma'am." Hands down, this is the place to stay when you're in the area. We had looked at several houses and I making what seemed like the forever drive back home. My husband suggested rather than drive straight through that I stop for the night around Atlanta so he made a reservation here for me. We went with a B&B as the previous nights we had stayed in hotels around different areas of Kentucky, each one had advertised "hot breakfasts", but were barely that so we always ended up eating somewhere else. I am so happy that we stayed here!! There was one room left, the Southern Retreat, which was actually more than we needed but I think my husband wanted to make sure that we had a good place to stay and I'm glad he chose it. We were texted by one of the owners (it's owned by a couple) along the way confirming our reservation, giving us the address, and letting us know that they would be waiting for us since we would be a later check-in. When we arrived, Marvin met us at the car. My son insisted on getting our luggage so any offer of help was refused LOL. Anita came down from the house and brought us to our room, which we did not have to access from the house as it was a separate entrance in the back. Both Marvin and Anita were so very friendly. Anita showed us around our apartment which was amazing. It was a one bedroom, there was a sitting area when you first walk in, a living room area with a pull out sofa couch that she already had made up as a bed for my son, a game room with a pool table, a kitchen dining room area that had snacks, water in the refrigerator and was complete with a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, tea, and some other drinks, and then a decent size bathroom. She then brought us up to the main house to show us where breakfast would be in the morning (they have their own chef), then showed us a area that she keeps open 24 hours which has snacks and drinks available for the guests which made my son very happy since he thought it was all for him. She gave us directions to some restaurants on my son and I headed out, brought our food back, played a little bit of pool and then went to bed as it was a very long day. The next morning we got up and got it ready and then went up to breakfast. The chef did not disappoint! The chef first brought out berries in a whipped cream over a type of cake that was sooo yummy! Then, the main breakfast that morning was scrambled eggs, French toast (which was some of the best French toast I ever had and my son was in heaven), bacon, sausage, and a breakfast potato hash of some type that was amazing. I am not a potato person but if I wasn't stuffed trying to eat everything I would've licked this off of my plate, it was that delicious. After breakfast we got everything all packed up but I let my son go out into the back to play for a bit. The house is on a lake that they own and they have a paddle boat and fishing available, There is a beautiful gazebo available outside for weddings and a smaller one right on the water to just sit and relax. Marvin was outside so he brought some fish food out and he and my son were feeding the fish while another couple that were there took the paddleboat out. There was an old "wishing well" there, so I got some change and my son and I made our wishes. When I told my son it was time to leave he literally cried and begged to stay another day. If we didn't have to be back for a prior engagement the next day, we would have. We are definitely planning on going back with my husband. He said he can't wait to go there and check it out. If you like bed-and-breakfast or if you want to try one for the first time, this is the one to go to. Marvin and Anita are two of the most wonderful hosts I have met and their home is beautiful. The best part is my wish at the wishing well came true. I wished that we would be able to find a house that would be perfect for our family. I flew back up to Kentucky the following weekend and we now have a contract on the perfect home. Thank you Marvin and Anita!
