They have a nice bar area with tables so we were able to grab a table and drinks while we waited. With the crowd, it took some time to get our drink orders. The dining room is cozy. It is family style, all you can eat. The waitress came over to confirm we wanted everything on the menu and then dishes were brought out to our table within 5 minutes. There were sides (baked beans, coleslaw, etc.), fried chicken, baked fish, fried fish, and fries. Overall I thought everything was ok. We were not a fan of the baked fish and the chicken was hit or miss. The chicken was bone in, some pieces were good and some weren't great. Overall our favorite thing on the table was the fried fish. Cool experience and friendly staff but overall underwhelmed by the food.

The dining area is much smaller and you are literally shimmying and squeezing into spaces so you don't bump others. The ambiance is stunning though, with details on the ceilings, the fans and anywhere else you look. We went on Friday, so the menu was limited. I usually get a tenderloin or filet, but I only had ribeye as an option, so I went with it. Many others in our party got the fish fry. There was a relish tray that came along with that, including beans and potato salads. The fish fry came with bake fish, fried fish, and broasted chicken. But we had four people at our table who ordered it and when they asked for more, they brought two pieces of things at a time, seemed extremely silly. Our waitress was extremely hard to hear, as it was so loud in the dining room and she was always walking away from us. The overall experience was okay, but not extremely memorable.

Unique fun tasty. Wisconsin Relish Tray which comes with the meal. Something for everyone!

Prime rib was done perfectly. The juice was really great. The mashed red potato side was truly delicious.

Great Experience at Uptown Bar and Grill in Watertown WI…read more Stopped in to the Uptown Bar and Grill and was pleasantly surprised! The bar was busy and full of customers, but there were still plenty of tables available. It took a little while for the bartender/server to get to us because of the crowd at the bar, but it was well worth the wait. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. The fries and tater tots were cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and some of the best we've ever had! A nice personal touch was that the chef came out to check on us and make sure everything was good. The restrooms were also clean and well stocked, which is always appreciated. Quite sizable, it has tvs throughout with seating at the bar, high tops and tables. Solid beers on tap and a menu of what you expect at a bar-apps, burgers, wings, and sandwiches. Appreciate the fact they use never frozen beef for their (quite large) burgers and source local cheese. We started with some homemade mozzarella sticks wrapped in wonton wrappers. They were great and paired well with both the marinara and ranch sauces we ordered. The burgers we also ordered on point. With the option of pink or no pink, the burgers were chargrilled to order and as I mentioned above, substantial. Our bartender was great and checked in on us regularly. I'm not in Watertown much but wouldn't hesitate stopping in if ever back in the area.

Terrible food. Terrible service. Hotter than Phoenix in July…read more Was there with my wife and mother. It was 80 degrees outside and about 110 degrees inside the restaurant. Tables were too close together. My breakfast was perhaps the worst that I ever had. My hash browns were black, toast was cold, eggs were inedible. My wife's pancakes were charred. We had 3 or 4 bites then told the waitress that the food was awful. She said, "what am I supposed to do about it?" How about offer to remake the food or take it off our bill? I wanted to leave money for the sodas and leave. My wife insisted we pay the full bill even though we ate 5% of our atrocious food. It pained me to pay for such a terrible experience. I travel extensively and have eaten at restaurants in 36 of the 50 states and this is the worst breakfast and second worst meal at a restaurant that I have ever had. Only the Luxor Casino buffet in Las Vegas was worse and that's only because it made my wife and I horribly sick. I have to assume that based on the fact that the restaurant was packed, that most people around here have never left this area and actually experienced edible restaurant food before.

Not - my husband received frozen hash browns rather than fresh. His food was burnt and then the waitress gave us the wrong bill, I didn't notice until after we left - I always take a picture of my bill. Also, by the time we arrived home both of us were sick. I do not recommend this place, and all we wanted to do was to support our local businesses - but were treated like we didn't belong. Sad - Oh and the health inspector should pay a visit.

Huge portions? Check. 6. Great food cooked expertly? Check. 7. Absurdly low prices? Check. Setting foot in Scottie's is like stepping back in time...in the best way possible. Finding a seat is pure luck; show up early or be prepared to wait, but know that you will be waiting outside, because there isn't an inch of spare room inside. If you do find a coveted spot, grab it because it won't be there long - and be prepared to rub shoulders and knees with the person next to you. Don't worry; that's all part of the experience. You might not know them when you first arrive, but you'll be best friends by the time you leave. Pro tip: the cook is not Scottie. There is no Scottie anymore. Presumably there was a Scottie once, but his whereabouts are unknown. At least to me. Jackie is amazing. If you've seen "Alice," she is the embodiment of Flo. I'm kinda shocked I haven't heard her tell someone to "Kiss my grits!" yet. She delivers good-natured sass just as frequently as plates of steaming hot food. Again, all part of the experience. Your food is cooked to order in front of you, so you know it's fresh. Even if the place is packed it won't take long, because there are only a handful of seats. And about that food: it's damn good. You can't go wrong with any of the skillets. The biscuits and gravy are wonderful. The toast, slathered with melted butter? Heavenly. The pancakes are enormous and awesome. The coffee, hot and delicious. Best of all, when you're handed your check, you will invariably mutter out loud, "That's it?!" The prices are insanely low. They're what you might have paid for breakfast in the 1980s. Two people can easily walk out of there stuffed and only $15 poorer. Tip Jackie well. She deserves it. It may be hot in there. It will definitely be cramped in there. You might see a fly or two. You'll leave smelling like grease. But you will be happy and satisfied and already planning your next visit. Besides, like I said... All part of the experience.
