Decent food at a decent price. Have eaten Breakfast and lunch there many times. Good plate lunches. Pretty fast service.

Trying to support local while on vacation, we tried Chit Chat & Chew. How this place has a 4.5…read morerating is beyond me! We walked into a nearly full house. No hostess at the counter (which is in the back of the restaurant,) no sign saying to seat yourself, nor a sign saying to add your own name to the list on the counter. Without being able to read someone's mind, I asked the first employee I saw what the procedure was. She hurriedly yelled to add my name to the list and sit down (in one of the 3 chairs) and someone would seat us Asap. There were 4 names on the list ahead of us that no one had marked off to indicate they had been seated. 3 more couples walked in behind us and walked straight to an empty table. They were asked to go put their name on the list and all 3 walked out without eating. We were finally seated. Dafne, our waitress seemed to be the only wait staff working. She was ALL OVER THE PLACE..... but was definitely very attentive to each of her tables. Our order came out a short while after we placed it , with only one small mistake (no butter on the toast.) We would've preferred biscuits but they were apparently out of them by the time we got to the restaurant. The hash browns were soaked in oil... so much so they had the distinct taste of Wesson! My bacon came out like pieces of charcoal (but I DID ask for extra crispy bacon.) There was no distinct theme for this restaurant. It seems as though the decor had been pieced together with garage sale finds, thrift store goodies, or grandma's basement bargains. Some things, like the Coca Cola mural on the wall and the old soda machine were cool ... just no particular theme throughout. Why is there star wars in the bathroom -- no other star wars anywhere in the restaurant? Speaking of bathroom, it was dirty & had not one but two full trash cans in the same one occupant room. Lastly, the flooring throughout the restaurant was mismatched and uneven with jagged edges throughout, very possibly the original flooring from some time ago. If someone wasn't watching where they were walking, they could easily trip. I'd not recommend bringing someone in who uses a cane or walker! It's an accident waiting to happen!

One of our crew got a sandwich, in the case but made from scratch, of course. I may have eaten some before I thought to take a photo. It was incredible and had a beautiful design with the frothed milk. My boyfriend got a hot woodsman, which is a macadamia nut, maple syrup, and cinnamon coffee served hot with frothed milk as well. It was also very good the leading flavor was macadamia nut. We also got a cheesecake slice with chocolate and caramel syrup on top which was also very good but a little frozen, definitely a none bake cheesecake. There is a selection of board games and card games available to play indoors as well as a ping-pong table outside. And tons of seating options. The vibes in this coffee shop were truly immaculate. If you enjoy local art, there are a lot of beautiful painting throughout the Cafe that can be purchased as well if one catches your eye. It is a little on the pricey side but well worth it for the atmosphere and quality of the food and coffee. Pro tip, wait for your order at the counter, they can be a little quiet when they call out the names of the orders after making them.

But it did not look very busy. I was seated pretty quickly, and that's where it went downhill. I ordered the Lechon and pork eggrolls. 10 minutes later my waitress informed me that there were no more pork eggrolls. So I chose not to get a substitute and just continue with my entrée. About every five minutes, my waitress came by and apologized for the wait and told me the food would be out soon. 42 minutes after I ordered food, it finally arrived. The food was very good and had amazing flavor. I just can't get over waiting 42 minutes for a plate of food. I hope their service will pick up and they can be a little bit quicker in the future.

The serving size was a bit small for the price. The chicken was overcooked, and the rice was just rice with some onions. It was relatively simple; there was no unique or impressive flavor. The waitress was nice, and made sure to check on me often. The restaurant itself is neat, clean, and inviting. I'll have to go back when I'm not on a budget, and order something fancier, I guess. I do feel like the food should be good no matter what, though. Lastly, they will nickel and dime you if you pay with card--you know, like most people do in the Big 26. The food was $12.99 before Searcy's astronomically high tax, and then they upcharged me over 50 cents for paying with card. It just doesn't sit well with me. I paid a premium, got some okay food, and then got upcharged again. It makes me sound cheap, I know, but I wanted something nice instead of just fast food.
