I'm so glad Sonic's drive-thru was busy or else we never would have found this place. My family was driving through Bald Knob on our way back home to Indiana and we needed some food. Jamie was super sweet and got our order to us lickity-split at the drive-thru window. Hubby and I shared the hamburger steak with onions and brown gravy, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, and a yeast roll. And added bonus -- a delicious square of lemon cake for dessert. My kiddo had the cheeseburger. Everything was delicious, but shout out to the high quality beef and the fluffy to-die-for roll (no butter needed, it was that tasty). The lemon cake was perfect. It was beautifully dense and moist and the icing was just like my grandma used to make. Thank you for a great meal! read more

I will start this by saying the service as very friendly. The biscuit and pancakes were okay but the gravy and fried eggs were not good, and the veggie omelette had mostly canned veggies and nacho cheese on it. OK so the food is decent. What I don't like, which seems to be a problem just about anywhere you go nowadays, is refuse to try to get your order the way you ask. I ordered the sausage omelet. I asked if they have Swiss cheese. She said yes so also put some mushrooms on it. Well at they got the mushrooms right. But whatever cheese they wanted to put on it and bacon instead of sausage. 2 slices of toast with teeny dollap of butter that could only cover a quarter of a slice. Can I get more butter please? Some of the worst food I've ever had. Barely any pastrami on the Reuben and what was there was chopped up into small, hard bits. The cheese on it was unidentifiable and overpowering. I had to search for the sauerkraut. Three of the six onion rings were inedible because they were from the outer, papery portion of the onion. The waitress never asked me if I liked it nor asked if I wanted a soda refill. Walking in, it's very confusing. Hostess booth is across the room near the kitchen. I had to wait to speak to the cashier to find out that it's seat yourself. I won't be back. read more

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast on our way to Jacksonville, Ar. This was our waitress first day, she was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the western omelet and it was delicious!!!!!! Hubby had the standard eggs/sausage/toast/hashbrowand he likes it. When we left hubby said that my omelette looked so good and it was really large that he is going to have one when we come back. Everything was clean and fresh. 5/7/2018- stopped back in on our way back to Jonesboro. Had lunch with hubby- burgers and fries- it was good -had the same waitress- she was still sweet and gave us good service. We will be back! read more

Homestyle diner that might remind you of Cracker Barrel (back when they were good). Stumbled on this place after our first choice for breakfast in the area was closed, this place was not too busy but had several tables of patrons enjoying what looked like very generous portions of classic breakfast fare. Our party of six, which included 2 little kids, ordered various breakfast items, including: pancakes, biscuits, gravy, eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, ham, and oatmeal. All were above average or very good, and all were served hot and tasted very fresh. Of particular note: -although a bit dense, the pancakes were huge, and had the familiar flavor of the classic diner pancake with just the right amount of sweetness and slight crispness around the edges. -the gravy appears to be the real deal, not the packaged stuff a lot of places are dishing out these days. Don't be put off by the gray-ish color, this is what homemade gravy made from sausage and bacon drippings looks like. -the oatmeal was surprisingly good, evidently made from good quality steel-cut oats. Not soupy or mushy at all. -coffee is strong by diner standards and served hot and fresh, frequently topped by the friendly waitresses. Our family of 6 got out of here for less than $40. Will definitely return on our next visit to the area. read more

As someone who has been in food service for a very long time, I was absolutely horrified to learn of my friends AWFUL experience with Farmhouse Cafe in Bald Knob today. He and a coworker went to try out the establishment, as they had never been. When presented with menus, a roach fell on to the table. Needless to say they pair got up and left. They did not tell anyone the reason, or confront the staff, which was their right as patrons. After that, my friend left a one star review on their Facebook page (The review option as since been removed) and proceeded to return to work after stopping at Bulldog for a bug free lunch. Upon returning to work, my friend was met by the owners of the Farmhouse Cafe demanding to talk to him about his one star review. The owners of this establishment not only harassed a patron, and told him he wasn't a man for not informing a member of staff of the bug at lunch, but they did so at his place of employment. Upon my friends refusal to apologize they then banned him from the establishment. Which seems counter productive considering he left without eating in the first place. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable. I will be the first to admit the customer is not always right, but he had every right to leave the establishment. He had every right to leave a poor review and he had every right not to inform the staff of a problem they should be aware of. I will not be giving Farmhouse Cafe any money and I would suggest none of you do either. I will not condone or reward blatant bullying of someone who came into an establishment in good faith that it was clean and healthy. read more

Stopped here for breakfast and was not disappointed. We had omelettes and yes made with real eggs not out of a carton filled with veggies and meat. The golden hash browns were perfectly crisp and the coffee wasn't bad but could be better. They had really half and half cream though for coffee so points for that. Super friendly people and cozy decor. We would definitely return. read more

Should've gotten the roast beef special! Instead, I got the fried catfish.I was disappointed with serving size. I got the two piece fish plate and honestly it looked like they took one filet, sliced it in 1/3 pieces and gave me only two of those pieces. I found it odd that I didn't get an entire filet. They looked like chicken strips.....weird! I did enjoy the pickled sides and slaw. Although the dish I got wasn't great, I would go back and try it again. We stopped there on our way home to Godfrey, Illinois from Little Rock. It's right off of RT67 at the 167 exit heading to Batesville. We were very happy with our visit. The breakfast was great. We both had eggs sausage and hash browns. Additionally, we tried the biscuits and gravy which was made on site and was very good. (Not the mix stuff everyone else makes) I had the sweat tea and my wife had their coffee, both were very good. The place was very clean and the service was exceptional. read more

I am a very optimistic person but as soon as the waitress came to take my order with a half smoked cigarette tucked behind her ear, I knew this was going to be a dining experience I wouldn't soon forget. Needs major improvement. $32.00 + tip for 2 fish plates that consisted of the smallest pieces of catfish I have ever seen. Fish was veiny...not really sure it was catfish. Slaw had absolutely no taste. Hush puppies were the size of quarters. French fries were your standard frozen fries. Brown beans also came with the meal. Husband said they were ok. Never received dessert that comes with it. The lady cashier was extremely nice...most positive point of this dining experience. read more

We stopped by on a Friday at noon for the Fried Catfish Lunch Special. Three nice size fillets cooked perfectly, good fries, slaw, hushpuppies, pickled green tomato, and a slice of onion. A big meal, but it also came with Kraut slaw. Never had it before but it went great with the fish dinner. The meal also came with your choice of cake for dessert. I had the lemon, it was good! They were packed but the meal and service was great. We will be back and we will bring our friends. read more

This place is a disaster. 3 of us went on Friday night, there was only 4 tables other than us. It still took 10 minutes to get our menus brought to us, and once we received our drinks and ordered we didn't see our waitress again. It took over an hour to get our food during which time two tables who came in after us ate and left. In the room we were in I saw 3 other tables send their food back because it was cold or wrong. I was standing up to leave when they brought us our order which was cold and made wrong. At this point I was done. We left and on my way out I noticed the cook looked to be about 16 years old and was now arguing with the waitress who looked even younger. This place is a disaster. It is obvious management doesn't care. Friday nights are busy nights and they should have someone working who can run a restaurant and knows what they are doing. read more
