Despite the weather, this place brings out both locals and visitors. The 80s music rocking the workers along goes with the ambiance and little town setting. Flap jacks are 10-12" across with lots of topping options. The biscuit was soft, fluffy with some seasons gravy. The Mexican Benedict was my jam for the day. We were in Searcy to have some work on our RV and went to Chit Char and Chew for breakfast. First of all it was packed at 9:30 on a Tuesday morning. We had to wait a few for a table but not bad. My girlfriend and I went for lunch and an afternoon of shopping and stopping into Chit, Chat and Chew. What a treat. We both got the single smashburger with sweet potato fries. The fries came with "fluffy butter" which is marshmallow cream and warmed butter. Oh my gracious! They were so good. The burger was one of the best. I had to take out the tomato to be able to hold it together. It came with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. I can't believe I ate the whole thing and all of the sweet potatoe fries! Bad service. Ownership is childish and will fight you for a refund on food they get wrong. They will short you a biscuit and claim you ate the other one. When you tell them to review the cameras they stop talking to you. Go when its not busy, maybe you'll get a better experience. read more

We're looking for a place to have breakfast. We found this incredible little restaurant that ended up having a pancake challenge as well as other things of course. This pancake challenge was so reasonably priced that we said screw it and went ahead and ordered it as you see from the pictures, the pancakes gigantic and there was three of them. Honestly I thought they were really good. The person I was with got an omelette that he thought was also good. As you see from the photo, I did not get very far into the pancake, but the waitress was great from start to finish and I really think that this place is a gem. Overall the restaurant atmosphere was nice with some oldies playing on their radio, I thought the whole restaurant was great overall. Really neat new joint snuggled into the downtown square of Searcy, AR. We stopped in on our way through central Arkansas recently on a friends recommendation. We enjoyed our time there! The owners came by and sat down to visit. Talked to us about their business & some of the menu items. We tried several things to include the Elvis burger, donut burger sliders, fried green tomato blt, monte cristo, & some delicious butter tarts stuffed w/fresh currants from their family in California who brings them in whenever they visit. Food was great! I love to see small businesses like this pop up and grow and thrive. Hope to stop back in the next time we pass through their town. read more

Went in for some chicken and waffles and it was okay. The atmosphere was nice and felt like a truck stop sorta place, though i definitely felt a little awkward in that I wasn't the usual crowd. Waitress was nice and gave a lot of cream and sugar for my coffee. While I wasn't able to get waffles, instead they gave me a flapjack and it was good. Nothing spectacular and the chicken was sorta like what you'd get from IHOP. It seems to be everyone else loves getting their burgers, maybe I'll try one of those next time, but based on what i got and the visit, it was ok. I'd say stop in if you're passing by. read more

Overall, we had a good experience here at Chit,Chat, and Chew Cafe. The staff here was wonderful! They are great people! I love the small town cafe vibe they have going on! There is a old brick wall facade in the restaurant that is pretty cool. I was slightly disappointed with my meal as well as my wife. I ordered the French toast combo which included eggs and hash browns. The eggs and hash browns were good. However, the French toast was odd. It wasn't bad but I also did not like it. It was deep fried and just was very different. My wife had the donut breakfast slider. This included two donuts with eggs and sausage or bacon inside. Her meal was very greasy, mostly because of the donuts, but she said the eggs and sausage were really good. I did see someone else order the pancakes. Each pancake had to be at least 12" in diameter and looked really good! I think I would get those next time! read more

What a great breakfast spot! My wife and I were traveling and decided not to partake of the breakfast offerings at our hotel. We made an excellent decision. Very friendly, helpful staff, great food, clean restaurant. What more can you ask for? With breakfast, you get a choice of biscuits and gravy or toast. Of course, go with the biscuits and gravy. If you like a sweeter, interesting gravy go with the chocolate gravy. We got a sample on the side, for us it was a bit sweeter than we like, but mixed with the regular gravy it was wonderful.
