My husband and I went to breakfast here last week. It's absolutely the best breakfast we have ever anywhere.

Trying to support local while on vacation, we tried Chit Chat & Chew. How this place has a 4.5 rating is beyond me! We walked into a nearly full house. No hostess at the counter (which is in the back of the restaurant,) no sign saying to seat yourself, nor a sign saying to add your own name to the list on the counter. Without being able to read someone's mind, I asked the first employee I saw what the procedure was. She hurriedly yelled to add my name to the list and sit down (in one of the 3 chairs) and someone would seat us Asap. There were 4 names on the list ahead of us that no one had marked off to indicate they had been seated. 3 more couples walked in behind us and walked straight to an empty table. They were asked to go put their name on the list and all 3 walked out without eating. We were finally seated. Dafne, our waitress seemed to be the only wait staff working. She was ALL OVER THE PLACE..... but was definitely very attentive to each of her tables. Our order came out a short while after we placed it , with only one small mistake (no butter on the toast.) We would've preferred biscuits but they were apparently out of them by the time we got to the restaurant. The hash browns were soaked in oil... so much so they had the distinct taste of Wesson! My bacon came out like pieces of charcoal (but I DID ask for extra crispy bacon.) There was no distinct theme for this restaurant. It seems as though the decor had been pieced together with garage sale finds, thrift store goodies, or grandma's basement bargains. Some things, like the Coca Cola mural on the wall and the old soda machine were cool ... just no particular theme throughout. Why is there star wars in the bathroom -- no other star wars anywhere in the restaurant? Speaking of bathroom, it was dirty & had not one but two full trash cans in the same one occupant room. Lastly, the flooring throughout the restaurant was mismatched and uneven with jagged edges throughout, very possibly the original flooring from some time ago. If someone wasn't watching where they were walking, they could easily trip. I'd not recommend bringing someone in who uses a cane or walker! It's an accident waiting to happen! read more

Delicious food and great service. Cool unique ambiance! Had the smash burger with jalapeños and friend onions and it was delicious. Highly recommend. The choc milkshake was also stuffed French toast was also another must order read more

Cool little joint in downtown WTF. I seriously cannot even remember where we were. Canton, maybe? Springfield possibly.... Walked/Rolled in. No greeting. Staff too cool to say hello to humans. Couple mins later, they shout, "sign the list". That's a paper wait list. All good homies... dayum Waited 10-12 mins. Not bad. Got sat. Got drinks. Out of biscuits, damn it. Need to decide. Ask for a min, please. Lots to look at. I guess I should have read the menu while waiting like C did. Wait another 15 for her to come back. All of it . .. ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ ......... .......... ........... ............ ............. .............. ............... That's a diagram of how long it took for her to come back. Except every dot was like a year of my existence on earth. I felt them all, slowly ticking by. Like the movie "Interstellar" when they are.... Well. Never mind. Wife uncomfortably glares at her most of that 15 mins. I awe, I don't dare to look around. As soon as I do though, she comes over. What the hell. Awkward. Lots. She is pissed. Shit. My patty melt smash burger was pretty freaking good. I do find that marble rye is much less potent than regular rye bread. It's needed some seasoning in the smashed patties, but still a good patty melt. . I liked my fries. C, not so much. Messed up her eggs. No side like she wanted. It might as well be dog poo they brought her. Sigh Cranky C lunch initiated. Nothing can be done now, you've awakened it. Shit. Can't get out fast enough for a silent ride home. Yay. I hope I'm never in Selmer again. '24 - 73/102. Still one in jail. One deleted. read more

Despite the weather, this place brings out both locals and visitors. The 80s music rocking the workers along goes with the ambiance and little town setting. Flap jacks are 10-12" across with lots of topping options. The biscuit was soft, fluffy with some seasons gravy. The Mexican Benedict was my jam for the day. Biscuit topped with Ed, chorizo, and pico. Everything about this place will fulfill every breakfast goers wishes. read more

We were in Searcy to have some work on our RV and went to Chit Char and Chew for breakfast. First of all it was packed at 9:30 on a Tuesday morning. We had to wait a few for a table but not bad. The service was outstanding and the food was even better. If you are in Searcy I would highly recommend. The place was mainly locals so you know it is good. read more

Simply amazing. If you get a chance definitely stop by for a meal. The smash burger is delicious.

My girlfriend and I went for lunch and an afternoon of shopping and stopping into Chit, Chat and Chew. What a treat. We both got the single smashburger with sweet potato fries. The fries came with "fluffy butter" which is marshmallow cream and warmed butter. Oh my gracious! They were so good. The burger was one of the best. I had to take out the tomato to be able to hold it together. It came with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. I can't believe I ate the whole thing and all of the sweet potatoe fries! Excellent service. I will be back! read more

We're looking for a place to have breakfast. We found this incredible little restaurant that ended up having a pancake challenge as well as other things of course. This pancake challenge was so reasonably priced that we said screw it and went ahead and ordered it as you see from the pictures, the pancakes gigantic and there was three of them. Honestly I thought they were really good. The person I was with got an omelette that he thought was also good. As you see from the photo, I did not get very far into the pancake, but the waitress was great from start to finish and I really think that this place is a gem. Overall the restaurant atmosphere was nice with some oldies playing on their radio, I thought the whole restaurant was great overall. I say if you're in Arkansas and you're close it's worth trying out. Happy Fooding!!! read more

Bad service. Ownership is childish and will fight you for a refund on food they get wrong. They will short you a biscuit and claim you ate the other one. When you tell them to review the cameras they stop talking to you. Go when its not busy, maybe you'll get a better experience. read more

Really neat new joint snuggled into the downtown square of Searcy, AR. We stopped in on our way through central Arkansas recently on a friends recommendation. We enjoyed our time there! The owners came by and sat down to visit. Talked to us about their business & some of the menu items. We tried several things to include the Elvis burger, donut burger sliders, fried green tomato blt, monte cristo, & some delicious butter tarts stuffed w/fresh currants from their family in California who brings them in whenever they visit. Food was great! I love to see small businesses like this pop up and grow and thrive. Hope to stop back in the next time we pass through their town. read more

Meet with friends from out of town for breakfast as they were passing through. Always a wait, but always worth it. Friendly staff, clean restaurant, and plenty of great food for your money. They had breakfast, the pancake stackers. I had a mushroom Swiss burger. Mine was your typical burger but the others really enjoyed their breakfast. This was our second visit. We'll be back, I'm certain. read more

Great service! We come here every time we visit our daughter. Great quality food and great ambience!

Went in for some chicken and waffles and it was okay. The atmosphere was nice and felt like a truck stop sorta place, though i definitely felt a little awkward in that I wasn't the usual crowd. Waitress was nice and gave a lot of cream and sugar for my coffee. While I wasn't able to get waffles, instead they gave me a flapjack and it was good. Nothing spectacular and the chicken was sorta like what you'd get from IHOP. It seems to be everyone else loves getting their burgers, maybe I'll try one of those next time, but based on what i got and the visit, it was ok. I'd say stop in if you're passing by. read more

Overall, we had a good experience here at Chit,Chat, and Chew Cafe. The staff here was wonderful! They are great people! I love the small town cafe vibe they have going on! There is a old brick wall facade in the restaurant that is pretty cool. I was slightly disappointed with my meal as well as my wife. I ordered the French toast combo which included eggs and hash browns. The eggs and hash browns were good. However, the French toast was odd. It wasn't bad but I also did not like it. It was deep fried and just was very different. My wife had the donut breakfast slider. This included two donuts with eggs and sausage or bacon inside. Her meal was very greasy, mostly because of the donuts, but she said the eggs and sausage were really good. I did see someone else order the pancakes. Each pancake had to be at least 12" in diameter and looked really good! I think I would get those next time! read more
