We were driving in the area and thought around the college would have more variety of something to eat. Hubby found this on Yelp and we gave it a try. I got chicken gyro because the thought of eating baby sheep is horrifying to me. As the side item I got Caesar salad. I normally tell places to put the dressing on the side for the salad and I should have there it came out pretty much swimming and dressing and the lettuce was a bit wilty so that was a bit disappointing. For the Euro I asked for light on the meat and heavy on the veggies and they did that I thought it was good. As usual Gyros kind of messy. So in the end I kind of ate it with a fork and just pick the stuff out of the gyro and added it to the salad. But I thought the Euro was good. What an interesting place! We were travelling through the area and were staying in Searcy for the night. We looked through what the town had to offer, and while there was a lot there, most of it simply did not pique our interest... certainly not Tex-Mex! (We had just spent the last two weeks travelling through the Southwest... we were Tex-Mex'd out!) However, a gyro sounded really good, so we headed over to the place and walked in. There really isn't much to the outside of the place, but once inside things were a bit more cheerful. The grill is right there as you walk in, and you can see everyone working to get the food out, which is nice. We were seated quickly and water was brought out to us, and after looking through the menu we both ordered gyros for dinner. Those came out and we quite enjoyed them. I have had a wide spread of gyros in my day, and these were up there towards the better end of the scale. The meat in them was juicy and flavorful, the onions were on point and the Tzatziki sauce was in good proportion to the sandwich. This is important, because too much or too little can ruin the sandwich. Our server was pleasant, and took care of us. One downside is that my two favorites, a grilled chicken Greek salad and a grilled chicken gyro, have chunked chicken. They're hard to eat and sometimes one bite can pull half the meat out of the wrap, but today, Crystal chopped up the chicken in my salad and in my daughter's gyro! I've never thought of requesting this and I didn't today, the chef just did it! I do admit that some days I choose to patron other places because large chicken chunks just don't sound appetizing. I have never thought of asking for the chicken to be smaller because I take it as it comes or I just don't order it. I had the traditional Gyro with a Caesar salad and my friend had the half chicken salad sandwich with the lemon chicken soup. Their salad that comes with it is always less than impressive-greens are old, sometimes with pink on them, and you usually only get 2 olives. I don't usually eat it.
