The dining area was clean and well-presented, with a charming mural beneath the televisions that added character to the space. We ordered a cappuccino, the Yolk Lovers Breakfast, and the Arnold Alaskan with cheese grits. All dishes were nicely presented and enjoyable. The service was attentive, with multiple staff members checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we look forward to returning.

This particular visit this location was out of numerous beverage choices and some of the meat choices.... I'm sorry! Did we surprise you by coming in to eat breakfast??? Based on server suggestion, I ordered deep fried hash browns. They were fried in chicken batter & extremely spicy! I definitely would NOT recommend. The ONLY POSITIVE out of this visit was time with family and the waitress tried her hardest to make things right with the options she was given. One was her suggestion for my desired order of bacon, "Bacon done the way the owner likes is - SPOT ON! " Not entirely sure that I'd visit this location again, as I don't live in Texas.... But I've been told there aren't too many good places to eat in close proximity to this town! That unfortunately Sounds about right from my experiences!

As always, the restaurant was packed--which is always a great sign that something good is happening in that kitchen! My waitress, Bailey, was sweet, attentive, and very accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable. I started with a cup of their famous tomato bisque, and let me just say... I simply cannot come here without ordering it. This heartwarming soup, made with slow-roasted tomatoes, shrimp stock, cream, and Creole seasoning, is rich, comforting, and truly soothing to the soul. It remains my absolute favorite--if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it! For my entrée, I ordered the Avocado Multi-Grain Toast. It's a light and satisfying plate featuring mashed avocado spread over thinly sliced multi-grain bread, served with your choice of sausage or bacon, an egg cooked your way, and a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. Everything on the plate was well-prepared and very tasty. If I could make one small personal tweak, I would love to see this served on a thicker slice of buttery toasted sourdough, maybe with a sprinkle of feta on top. That's just my personal preference and how I enjoy my avocado toast--others may find this version just right as is! The search continues for my perfect avocado toast, but this was a delicious and enjoyable stop along the way. Happy Sunday, and keep sharing those amazing finds on Best Bites!

On my most recent visit, I sat at the bar and started with a Buffalo Trace bourbon while looking over the menu. The bartenders here are always attentive and welcoming; in fact, the bartender remembered me from previous visits, which speaks volumes about the level of service they provide. Dinner was a ribeye cooked medium-rare with asparagus, and it was exactly what a good steak should be: perfectly cooked, with great flavor, and served hot. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. I followed that with their lemon icebox dessert and a lemon drop, both excellent, and finished the evening with a Four Roses Small Batch Select for a nightcap. What really sets J Wilson's apart is the staff's consistency and professionalism. The bartenders, servers, and kitchen team all seem to work together smoothly and take pride in the experience they deliver. Even on a busy night, with spring break crowds and daylight saving time throwing schedules off, the service remained attentive, and the food came out exactly right. If you're looking for a reliable steakhouse in Beaumont with excellent steaks, a strong bourbon selection, and top-notch service, J Wilson's is hard to beat. Five stars. Always a great experience.

I explained that I wasn't looking for any compensation just wanted to make sure this didn't happen again. The fact that they even cared enough to reach out and try and make it right says a lot about this restaurant. I will give them another opportunity at my business and I hope after talking with David that he will help his management team do a better job of communicating with the guest. Thanks for taking the time to listen and also offer to make it right. Everyone deserves a second chance I will see you soon.

I needed some good fried fish, so I chose the Fish, Shrimp, and Oyster Combo. It's just a really nice dinner with the right amount of all three, although I could have ate about 12 more of their fried oysters, they were just so good and really hot the spot today!!! I didn't get our waitress's name, but she was really very good, friendly and outgoing! She was on top of her game too to make sure we were doing alright stopping by or table and others to make sure we had all we needed!!! There was another man in there also that might have been the manager, not sure, but he also came out table to ask if everything was good!! I had sweet tea and my wife had water and also ordered one of their mixed drinks called a "Gator bite" I believe. She sipped on it but did really finish it. She just said it wasn't really what she was expecting, but it was alright. I like going here or any other of their locations because of the ambience of every one I've been in. There is plenty of things on the walls to just look at that are unique and really light up the atmosphere inside!!!

The atmosphere in the restaurant and the food had me feeling all the nostalgic vibes of growing up eating my maw-maw's good down home cooking. The whole staff was kind and welcoming, our waitress was ShaDay and she was so kind and attentive. You can tell the staff all genuinely care about the quality of their food and their customers' experiences at their restaurant. The food was phenomenal and worth every penny. My husband had the fried pork chop breakfast which also came with cheesy grits, country potatoes, a biscuit and diner's choice eggs; he chose over easy eggs. Every single thing on his plate had great flavor! We taste tested each other's plates, and we both agreed that there wasn't a single bite that left us disappointed. I felt my soul leave my body when I dipped a piece of that homemade biscuit in the owner's homemade strawberry jam! ShaDay told us that the owner makes all the jams herself and rotates the flavors out periodically. The owner deserves an award for those jams because my husband licked those little ramekins clean; it was that good. I'm grateful ShaDay brought us another jam too, so I could also enjoy the jam with my food; that's how quick he finished off his jam. I had the F Biscuit which was just as flavorful and delicious. The F Biscuit is a breakfast sandwich where they dip the biscuits in French toast batter then grill it before putting the sandwich altogether with fried eggs, cheese, bourbon bacon onion jam, and a sausage link (or substitute for chicken, which I did and it was a great choice.) Every bite was flavorful, and the jam was also an out of this world enhancement to the French toast biscuit as well. Biscuits & Jamz is a 5-star experience all the way around, from the staff, to the food, to the environment, to the pricing. The prices were very fair for the portions of food you get while still being very affordable. Don't walk. RUNNNNN to Biscuits & Jamz! You won't be disappointed!
