I called in a to-go order. They missed the fried mushrooms, so I decided to call. I talked to the server that answered and then decided to call and talk to the manager. I just wanted to let them know that there was a training opportunity to repeat orders over the phone so that no one misses the food they want. The manager told me I was wasting everybody's time. I will NEVER eat there again. Terrible management menas terrible service and poor food management. I worked at restaurants for 15 years. I have never been more offended in customer service. Cute spot in Bloomer! My wife (TBD) and I came for a quick lunch and had an excellent visit. Service was nice and the food was pretty good! We split the cheese curds, which, in my opinion (not a wisconsiner) were too heavily breaded. the burgers were great! not the greatest burger i've ever had but a solid burg. read more

Main Street Cafe A very cute setting in a charming country town called Bloomer WI. It's right on Main St. So while there is parking on main street, I would plan on parking in the public lots about 1/2 a block away. When you enter Main Street Cafe its in your typical, very cute country setting from the pictures on the wall to the table and chairs. You will be greeted with a smile and the servers are pleasant and charming.They will smile and engage in conversation all through your meal if you so choose. What ever you decide to order will come out quickly and correct. Expect big and very tasty entrees. The Biscuits and home made gravy are wonderful with just the right amount of seasoning. A side of scramble eggs and sausage links makes this a tasty and filling breakfast. The Stuffed French Toast is also a "must try" breakfast. Filled with sweet cream cheese and topped with your choice of strawberries, peaches or apples make this a delicious choice. The coffee is always fresh, hot and smooth. Your pocket book will be very happy at the cost of this meal. Very reasonably priced. Overall the Main Street Cafe is a resounding winner, I would come back again and again if I lived in the area. Main Street Café is just like being home. Awesome breakfast and a full pot of coffee placed right on the table. When ever I'm working up north I can't resist getting up early giving my self extra time for breakfast at Main Street Café. On my last visit I tried the Blueberry Wild Rice Toast. I enjoyed every bite and looking forward to enjoying it again. The service is always great. The portions are so filling I usually work through lunch. Give this restaurant a try and you will be back again and again. Why bother with Those fast food places when plasticly tasting greasy eggs along with hard stiff hash browns and burnt coffee again cost more than these wonderful breakfast dishes. read more

Great little cafe with homemade delicious assortment of pies! One of our favorite spots on our trip to Iola! Great Reuben and fries. Hot French fries with a crispy taste. Great menu selection. However, stay away from the chili. Texture was weird and not very flavorful. I do recommend pie. the pie selection was amazing! Our waitress was not very attentive. Lifelong Wisconsin residents who moved to Alaska 7 years ago, back in town and was "jonesing" for a traditional fish fry. The Main Street Cafe did not disappoint! Two pieces of fresh flaky fish expertly battered and fried (can also order a four piece dinner but the pieces are quite large), the best lyonnaise potatoes I've had (crispy yet tender and lots of real onions), fresh lemon and good tartar. Hubby had 10 ( yes, TEN) crispy fried shrimp. Salad with tasty French dressing was delicious -much better choice than overly dressed coleslaw. Choose the French fried or lyonnaise over the too-small , baked-in-foil potato. Didn't need the carrots and limp celery that passed as the "relish tray" but small multi-grain roll and real butter was fine. No alcohol but lots of sodas and iced teas or lemonades. Water was brought without asking (kind of unheard of these days). And we need to talk pie- dozens of creme or oven- baked choices, all looked delicious. Get a piece of caramel apple crunch warmed with ice cream. Prices are very nice - two drinks, two dinners and two pieces of pie for $35. read more

Oh man....the pie selection at the Main Street Cafe is just impressive. I sampled just about all of them during my visit to Chippewa Falls. I'd highly recommend the raspberry cream, strawberry rhubarb and classic apple pie If you're eating in they'll serve you a warmed slice of pie with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on the side. I am a summer visitor to the Chetek area and one of my to go places was the Main Street Cafe for their pies. This year was a big disappointment. the pastry chef must have left because the replacement has a lot to learn. In the past and what you can view on the website is golden brown pastry shell and pilled high filling. All GONE! the pastry is pale, thick, doughy and tough. The fillings are no longer fluffy with high peaks of meringue or whip cream. It was such a high disappointment and will be crossed off my list until a new pastry chef is hired. I keep checking the Kwik Trip near me (where the pies are also sold) for any improvement and as of now none have been observed. Hopefully this will change soon and not another fond memory to be only in the past. read more

The food is great. This is one of my favorite places to have a steak and mashed potatoes. The chicken dumpling soup is also wonderful. The service is hit or miss (usually miss). I've been here quite a few times when we've had to go find a server just to be waited on. They do not apologize for mistakes and usually don't seem real happy with their jobs. We made the mistake of going with the breakfast buffet limited choices eggs B&g potatoes and some sort of miniature brats or breakfast sausage. The waitresses usually were friendly and were doing their best. We were often customers for over 5 years and would come in every Saturday for the prime rib special. Usually the prime rib covers the full plate. Unfortunately this week the prime rib was barely even a quarter of the size of the steak even my friend with the steak and lobster special had a bigger steak. When I questioned the waitress about if it was a 16 ounce they went back and checked with the chef who then said it was the correct size. It's obviously not and also not only that but the steak was well done instead of rare. When we were leaving the cashier asked how was everything was and we were honest and she went and said "well you ate it, so it must be good". And when giving a $2 tip she came out with a comment "well don't take it out on the waitress!!". THIS IS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And we will not come back due to it. read more

Breakfast was so greasy that I couldn't eat the hash browns and used a napkin to wipe off the scrambled eggs. Ordered bacon that was delivered after I was finished eating. "Here you are Dear" were the only words spoken to us. Evidently they have so many complaints they don't ask how your breakfast is. Strawberry jam was good. Such a shame this restaurant had gone downhill over the years. Going to call Shell oil and tell them where they can drill for oil. read more

AMAZING! Just happened to stop by Bloomer on our way to Minnesota and it did not disappoint. My Husband and I split the roast beef sandwich which was a huge portion and came with perfect mashed potatoes and soup. Perfectly tender beef and no fatty essence. Based on the pie counter we knew it was going to be a life changing experience. I had their best seller which was a raspberry cream cheese pie and he ordered he strawberry rhubarb. I can't begin to explain how perfectly delicious the pies were and the whole experience for that matter. I would drive well out of my way to come here. We felt bad paying since the prices were so low. I have no idea how they can afford to stay in business. The only disappointment was the fact that they don't ship their food. My grandparents have been talking about this restaurant for about 45 minutes. They stopped on the way through Wisconsin and have just been raving about the pies, homemade food, great service. They asked me to give it a 5-star rating. Quote from my grandma and grandpa: Very quaint. And one lady in there when I went to the back, all she was doing was taking pie orders. I can't imagine making 9,000 pies in 10 days. Then there were 2 women in a booth (or was it a table?) I ate breakfast there on Sunday morning, July 24. My adult daughter and three other young adults were in our party. The waiter pitched the buffet, which at about $7 each, sounded great. Everyone in our party opted for the buffet. What a colossal mistake! The only thing that was decent was the sausages. We decided to stop at the cafe in Bloomer because we were in town. We had 5 minutes to order breakfast or we had to order lunch. We were a family of 4, with two of us sharing a pizza. Our bill was over $32! That is a bit ridiculous for a "cafe". We had okay food, certainly not worth $32. Small town cafe can charge what they want because they have no competition. The "Trump for president" sign and "Hillary for prison" sign almost made me leave too. Seems distasteful to advertise political beliefs in your business. I live in the area and love to keep local but the quality of the food at this location I just cannot eat. I have tried 5 times and was never able to finish eating more than one bite. You can dress up and cook food to look good but if you start with poor quality frozen food, it will always taste like that. Even tried breakfast, I mean how hard is it to cook a good egg.
