The Shanty is one of those places I don't go to nearly enough and I really need to change that…read more I was specifically craving hand-cut fries and theirs did NOT disappoint. I got the Big Ol' Burger and it was so good. Cooked perfectly, the special sauce was delicious and as you can probably tell from the photo, the fries were exactly what I was looking for. Everything tastes really fresh here. It has that farm-to-table quality, but in a relaxed, laid-back (but still really pretty) setting. We came for lunch and I loved that they had brunch options too. We didn't get any adult beverages but I was very tempted by the entire drink menu, so next time! Our service was also outstanding. Really everything was A+. Definitely a local spot that I need to remember to go to more often.

In town for work and was looking for a place to grab a bite after work. I found The Shanty on Yelp…read more The moment I opened the door I was greeted, by the owner, with the most upbeat personality and smile! She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The food is amazing and not at all average. You have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone…read moreand try Lowkey's twist on classics. The atmosphere is like a club in the middle of a city on Fridays and Saturdays, but don't expect it to get crazy until after 10:30. The crowd ranges from guys and gals having their 21st birthday parties (last night lol) to 30-40+ year olds looking to have a fun night out dancing, drinking, and eating. The staff is an awesome rag tag group of friends who like to have as much fun as the patrons. Just try and stay relaxed if you have to wait a little bit for a drink or a meal especially if it's a busy night cause the staff may be amazing, but they are few. And lastly if you're looking to throw a little surprise party for a friend or significant other, they are more than happy to set something up for you! I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday and they went all out! The main Chef Bill made her this amazing cake and a charcuterie board with an unbelievable selection of meats, cheese, and crackers. So seriously check this place out!!!!

There is a bar when you walk all the way in and couches and some tables. The cocktail menu and the food menu has some interesting choices. I had the chipotle shrimp and fried avocado taco. The chipotle shrimp taco had dry rubbed and air-fried collossal shrimp, pico, cabbage, chipotle aioli, and salsa verde. The fried avocado taco, 1st time having this type of taco, had beer battered avocado wedges with crumbled cotija, pico, cabbage, cilantro, and salsa verde. The tacos had good taste. It took a little while to come out, but it was good. I had the white sangria which tasted really good. My husband had the transfusion which is Tito's vodka, grape juice, ginger ale, and it comes in a bag. I thought that was a cool concept for an adult beverage. There is a free municipal parking lot around the corner and up the hill. The bar tender and the owner were friendly.

It's been a hot second since we were at The Social House! We spent the day on the boat in Apponaug…read more& it was hubby's birthday so it seemed like the perfect time for a celebration martini! It was Sunday, a little on the early side, so the bar was wide open. Hubby opted for his signature drink: a very dirty vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. I went with my favorite drink at The Social House - LaLa Lemon: malfy lemon gin, lemon sorbet, lemon zest, mint leaf. Both cocktails are absolute perfection! Next time, we are definitely going to try their signature cocktail - The Jungle Bird (served in a cage): bumbu rum, campari, amaretto, lime, pineapple, brown sugar, pineapple wedge. I'm soooo curious about this concoction!

Management always seems to be there when I arrive, happy to greet and seat me and make sure I understand specials and how the menu works. Cocktail selection is good with unique flavor profiles. The menu is tapas style. Not super expansive but some good options. Last time I was in, I got the Asian chicken skewers that are served over cold noodles (absolutely delicious), and a half flatbread half panini plate. Pizza (mushroom and onion) was good. Panini was just ok, a little dry. This is the kind of spot I enjoy coming to for the ambiance and cocktails. Not necessarily my favorite for a sit down meal, but that isn't the point. Beautiful decor and a sexy atmosphere.
