To start, I got there a little after 10am and they open at 10am. They were not open and I ended up waiting until almost 10:20am until they pulled up. Odd skunky smell throughout the whole place. I got the "pink and white" acrylic full set. Very uneven filing job on all my nails. She didn't listen as to where I wanted the placement of the white tip on my nails. When getting Pink & White you are supposed to put pink powder on the nail bed and clear powder on the tip to achieve the PINK AND WHITE LOOK. That was too much to ask and she put pink powder over the entire nail so now my tips are tinted pink. . To make it worse, I wanted Gel top coat. On 4 out of 10 nails, the Gel doesn't even cover the whole nail. I tried to tell her the filing and edges of my nails was uneven and she looked at me like I was an idiot and completely ignored my request to fix it, got up and told me it'd be 45$. I will not be going back there ever. It genuinely sucks due to the fact it's right next door to where I go tanning. Could be a great experience and the nail salon (if you want to even call it that) could have some Great business but I will never be going back there due to service, quality and cleanliness. Visited MAI nails for a manicure & pedicure. I first attempted to try walk in but was told to come back, even though there was maybe 1 customer in the salon. I did return for my scheduled appointment. My biggest issue with this salon is: They DO NOT clean tools. I saw the tech go from my pedicure to the next customer without washing or sanitizing in between. A customer spoke up and asked "don't you sanitize" the 2 ladies at first acted like they didn't understand. They said they do clean and sanitize in evening after day of use. So basically, if your the first customer you get the nice clean sanitized nail tools. The excuse was there is no time. This made no sense because they hardly have customers. Another issue is they have horrible nail selections. Barely any OPI and I didn't see any ESSIE polish. Most polish was generic looking and seemed really old. Giving 2 stars because they didn't pressure me to go, I was able to sit comfortably and let my nails dry. I was the only customer though. I won't be returning. On a side note: the new sushi & Thai spot in this shopping center called Sakae might be the worst Thai food I've ever tasted it my life. Don't waste your $. read more

I had gotten acrylics for my aunts wedding and they weren't even and he had cut them shorter than i wanted. They all just seemed to be rushing and my aunt had to have her toes redone twice because they didn't look good at all. I don't recommend coming here at all. read more

Before getting my nails done here, I would have told you I wasn't at all picky about nail salons--as long as it's clean, I'm okay. I've completely changed my mind--this was the worst experience I've ever had. I'm new to the area and made an appointment for a mani/pedi at Mai Nails on a Friday afternoon because it's somewhat close to my home. When I arrived, there were only 2 nail techs working and all of the pedicure and nail stations were occupied. I told the person at the desk I had an appointment but it was clear she had no record of it or any clue who I was. I proceeded to then wait 45 minutes until I was called back. (One of my biggest pet peeves is taking walk ins over those with appointments!) I should have just left but every time I started to, someone would tell me it would be "5 more minutes." I've seen other reviews of nail salons where people complain about how they lack a choice of colors. I always thought those people were silly--I mean, how can there be a lack of polish choice and who cares?! Well, now I understand because I could barely find a "normal color" (meaning not yellow or green) that wasn't dried up or separated. It really shouldn't be that hard! When I finally got into the pedicure chair, the water was lukewarm at best and the man doing my toes would do one thing and then go attend to 3 other people. When it was finally time for my manicure, the whole thing was done in approximately 5 minutes. So, over 2 hours later, when I looked at my nails, I could see that the polish on my toes didn't even go all the way down to the cuticle (so it looked like a week old pedicure) and for my hands, my nails were uneven from her hasty filing and I could still see my old polish through my new. I honestly would have done a better job myself! I left the smallest tip I've ever left in life and walked out. Needless to say I won't return--and I would advise you to look elsewhere in Fredericksburg when seeking a nail salon. read more

I'very been going to nail salon for the past 10 years since I was 16 Not once have I ever left feeling disappointed. Unlike Courtney I'very always found their color selection ranged in multiple colors and were in good condition. Recently they just put new massage chairs in as well. The salon is kept clean and you won't beat the service for the prices. I have gotten a better manicure elsewhere but also spent $40 more. But honestly you can't beat their service. I come in sporadically and Mai always remembers me and even times when she's not technically working but happens to be there she'll still take time to do my eyebrows. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

This was my first and last time at this nail salon. They make you wait forever, they weren't friendly and my toe nail polish looks like a 5 year old did it. I didn't even get anything fancy, just one color. Very disappointing! read more

2-Star Review not withstanding, "Dan" is the best thing about Mai Nails!! Very thorough! PROBLEM: almost all of their bottles of nail polish are only 1/5 full, when you remove cap, colors NOT the color are hardened inside top. Labels are removed, but OPI bottles still used. I've used the same OPI color for six years and it is NOT that thin. I've been 3 times just because Dan gives a great pedicure, but this time I spoke up. I told her I didn't think the OPI bottle contained fresh OR OPI polish & why are all the labels removed. "Ha, Ha, Ha." She said, "Children come in here and remove all the labels." Really!!? It's bad enough to have old, gross polish, but to tell me something completely unbelievable. Too bad a good tech like Dan has to work there. I did not find it dirty though. Average prices. read more

This wasn't my first time at this nail salon, but it just might be the last. First, let me start off by saying the owner is a very nice person and she is the bomb! When it comes to waxing my eyebrows. However, the gentleman who did my manicure should never do nails again. He filed my nails crooked, failed to get the polish over my entire nail, and left polish all over my skin. I was so furious that I paid and didn't even let my nails dry. This was my first time at this business, the place was clean and the personnel were friendly but didn't bother trying to speak English. My total bill was $118.00 including tips I was not impress with the final product. The waxing was good, the pedicure of thorough but I paid for a set of gel nails that were suppose to last two weeks. One nail came off after only one day, they repaired it, the next nail came off about the fourth day and now another needs replacing, It was only been a little over a week. They would probably repair it but I am tired of fooling with them.. Needless to say I won't be using their services again. read more
