It was the end of the day. I needed a manicure and wanted, but didn't need, a pedicure. They were supposed to close in 30 mins. So, I would have understood if they couldn't get both done. But, they didn't see it that way. They put 2 team members, who I realize were family members, on my needs at the same time. My service was great! I took my niece for a pedicure today. I went based on good reviews from google. Worst pedicure! I was done in 25 min start to finish. My niece was done in 20. No massage, put lotion on and rubbed it in. No callous removal. The polish is ridiculous and no top coat. Uneven cuts. I went in with my mom and daughter today to get a full set for me and manicures for them. Their manicures came out great and I am IN LOVE with my pink and white ombré set! The staff was just so sweet. V.V. did my mothers nails and she was so am happy with her. I didn't get the name of the woman who did my daughter's but she was great too. Lan did my set and was attentive and perfect with them. They came out beautifully. The shop was clean, well lit and ventilated. We were helped quickly. My mom and daughter were sat immediately. I had to wait a short bit but Lan kept me informed on how long it would be. I never mind a wait, when I'm kept updated like she did and my nails were worth it. I came for a fill, the few nails that were coming off they charged me to replace them. I went to Mai Nails to get a manicure and pedicure. I brought my 5 year old daughter along just to get her nails and toes painted. As you can see in the pictures the technician shaved off my skin with a pumice. After doing so she didn't realize it and put my foot back into the water. I pointed out the injury and she said oh I'm sorry I thought I was being gentle. She then put something on it which stung very badly. When I went to the front to check out she told me the total amount of 143$ I asked her why I was being charged this amount and she couldn't say. Then the owner told me the price was this due to my gel manicure and pedicure plus my daughter getting her nails and toes painted and the child's pedicure (which they offered to a 5 year old to put her feet in the water as it will feel good) without letting me know the cost before hand. I explained to the owner how my foot was hurting very badly after the pedicure as my skin was taken off. She said I can give you a bandaid and said it was probably a callus there. No I did not have a callus there. I asked for a discount and she said okay I'll give you a discount of 5 dollars. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I was very worried about getting an infection as the pumice was used previously on other people and there was no liner inside the pedicure bowl. There was also a small trash can in this bowl (where feet soak in) prior to me sitting down they removed once I sat down. I guess they might have been cleaning floors and put it there? No idea, but this is not sanitary at all. I am a nurse and I am on my feet 12 hours or more per day and this caused me so much pain and I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for this. Don't go here! They do a terrible job and overcharge you! I went in for a gel manicure and the aggressive Chinese women talked me into dip nails. I told her I didn't like acrylic because they are thick and unnatural. She assured me dips were thinner and more comfortable. That was a lie. They feel exactly like acrylic and actually look less natural in my opinion. And because I had never done them before she did some weird combination of dip and gel. It looked awful. I asked them to redo it and they did but she charged me $89 for the service. The owner claimed that she was not charging me for the redo but clearly she was, I told her the price was unreasonable but she just continued to lie to me, so I paid and left. This company is sneaky and dishonest, I dropped my teen daughters off to get a set of acrylics, which I called ahead to see if they had opening for two sets of acrylics. They took it upon themselves to add gel and a manicure to their acrylics without even asking them then gave them a 70+ each bill. And told them why the bill was so much. My girls paid the bills and included a tip and when I picked them up was so upset their bill was so much. I had a nail repaired here last week, and booked an appointment for a later date for a fill-in. This was my first time ever going to this nail salon. I ask the nail tech how much it would be for a fill-in, and she told me $50. Fast forward to today, after the tech removed the gel polish, he told me my feel-in would be $70. I informed him that I was in there last week and was told a different price. When the nail tech I spoke to prior, passed by, I asked if she remembered me and showed her the nail that she fixed. My first visit was pleasant but my gel did NOT LAST 1 day! Well I came back to get that fixed with my daughter and paid $150 for the both of us! She immediately told me she would charge me for a full set. I told her "NO!" I only want you to fix what you didn't fix the last 2 times. She placed me in the chair with a young man very pleasant guy. He fixed my nails. Well I went to pay. Again she said "ARE YOU PAYING WITH CASH?!" I said no I'm paying with "card." She told me my price would be $25 again. I told her I thought she was very wrong for charging me again. I gave her my red debit card and she ran the card. She then told me not to come back. I told her don't worry your services aren't that great. Customer service was horrible. She ran my card told me to sign I told her why am I signing you gave you my money I'm leaving now. I checked my bank to make sure it went through. It did. I walked out she grabbed the phone and proceeded to call the "POLICE!" Well I've never had this happen to me before. So yeah I'm a littles upset. But I'm even more upset that she treated me different from the "white" patron she had in her building. New set of acrylic nails lasted less than 3 days before lifting & chipping because she didn't put product to edges of nails and when I pointed that out before I left suddenly they no longer spoke clear English...but they certainly spoke enough to tell me I owed $5 more than they quoted me. I wasn't offered a drink, a bandaid, a leg massage even...I left with callouses too.. I was made to pay with police threats by the tech and the owner Miss Mai stood by her side agreeing!!! So ghetto! She kept commenting about my short nails and complained, and criticized them. She repeatedly asked for my age, a long with my friends age. WORST NAIL EXPERIENCE EVER! I am a college student who works very hard for her money, and I am very loyal to this shop--so much that I will wait until I come home from college to go to them. My usual person was busy, so someone else did my nails who is new to the shop. I asked for my usual (baby pink dip powder nails with a tip), and when I left her chair I had uneven, trashy Pepto Bismal nails. I left the shop thinking I could make myself okay with them, but I couldn't. I returned 20 minutes later to see if anything at all could be done to fix them, but the owner, Mai, told me (as she sat in a massage chair reading a magazine) "she sees nothing wrong with my nails," so I would have to pay for an entirely new set (another $45).
