I've been a loyal customer here for almost 2 years and even though I've since moved away, I still happily make the 3-hour round-trip drive just to get all my birds and supplies here. I breed birds as a hobby and this is my go-to place for everything I need. I recommend this store on social media bird groups and to everyone else I meet who need cages, food, and supplies. The quality and prices are unbeatable. A lot of my friends and family come here I won't feed my birds anything other than magnolias seed. A 25-lb bag of high quality parakeet food is around $17 here, and I can even get 50-lb bag for about $30. You won't find prices like that anywhere else, and even the most expensive seed online or at big-box pet stores doesn't come close in quantity or quality and will cost you 4x as much. On the rare occasion I've run out and had to buy seed elsewhere, my birds wouldn't even touch the dyed and pesticide filled garbage from the big stores. Their nest boxes are also the absolute best! My birds will only lay eggs in their boxes for some reason. They are thoughtfully and well made and even have concave bottoms ! Over time I've bought about 15 cages here, along with 3 stands, dozens of nest boxes, a lot of birds, toys, water and food dispensers, medicine, supplements and accessories. I've been here well over 30 times and have spent thousands of dollars. Everything I have bought has held up great! No regrets. All birds are still healthy and breeding. The older gentlemen you will find here has been an absolute godsend. His knowledge and willingness to help with advice has saved many of my birds and helped me reach my breeding goals. He's truly the go-to person for anything bird-related, but just walking through the aviaries to see the beautiful birds here, is worth the drive alone. The only kink in this place is, as you'll see in other reviews, is the older ladies at the registers can be rude and dismissive. If you have thin skin, there is one lady in particular who might really hurt your feelings. The first time we came in, my husband and I almost walked out leaving $300 of merchandise/birds on the counter because she rolled her eyes and scoffed at us when we couldn't find the location of a product. She then made us feel like 2nd class citizens during the entire checkout process. My husband and I still laugh about it because it was so bizzare. Anyhow, I am a die hard loyal customer and it's still the same thing everytime I go to that register. Though its felt personal at times, I've learned that this is likely not the case. She was the same way to my best friend and my sister when they came in to buy things for their birds . This place is old school in that way so don't take it personal or waste your time feeling offended. Put your feelings in your pocket before you go to the register and don't miss out on this gem for bird lovers. I give this place a great rating, I've never been here before my 16 yr old daughter wants to be a Ornithologist and wanted to go here . We drove 40 min to get here and we were both excited! OMG they have Green Winged Macaws and Green Cheek Conures she wants both these birds when she finishes college. I was in awwww they have a section that is the breeding area and that's where these magnificent birds resided. One of the Green Winged Macaws loved me he came down to the front of the cage and danced with me come to find out his name is MOMBO. The name fit the other macaw was dancing too. They have beautiful birds and a lot of supplies and foods and treats. We were there for awhile and enjoyed every minute with the birds. We will be back for sure. After observing the baby Parakeets for some time, I chose a yellow male Parakeet that seemed to be the leader of the new batch (the other little Parakeets were following him around). I have had so much fun with this little guy! He's got the greatest personality, he sings and plays each day. I've given him a nice big cage (house), with plenty of toys, he's obsessed with bells so I'm sure to buy toys with bells on them. I've provided a nice bay window for him which he loves to watch the early mornings turn from dark to light. I play soft classical music each morning and he seems to enjoy that as well. Honestly I don't know how it is legal to have as many birds as they do here. They are poorly kept. Less than bare minimum provided for these birds. The birds "chew toys" are literal plastic kitchen measuring cups. I purchased a parrot here because I felt so incredibly bad for how he was being treated. He was clearly terrified and was constantly being poked at by kids and people who lack empathy for animals. My parrot passed a month ago so I had the means to rescue him and boy did he need rescuing. I am posting this review to hopefully encourage this place to step it up in their "care" for these intelligent and beautiful animals. I do not want to deter anyone from buying a bird here cause to be honest the birds need to be rescued from this place so please go there and take one home so they get real care and love and then when you need supplies or nail trimmings or wing clippings take your money to Omar's exotic bird store. read more

Please do not board your birds here! They recently lost or stole a sun conure named Tango from an owner! Now for my personal experience here was disappointing. I drove 2hrs to this location and I needed help looking for an appropriate play stands for my bird. I asked an employee that was on her phone at the register for help. She didn't even bother responding to me. All she did was nod her head "no" . I then asked if someone can help me on the area of the play stands, I want to purchase some today. She then nodded her head again "no" and didn't respond again! She refused to help me or find someone to help me , since it was clear she didn't want to work . Her attitude made me uncomfortable and I didn't want to purchase anything from a store that treats customers rude. So I left and purchased what I needed online instead. I've been taking my two conures to Magnolia Bird Farm for the past two, almost three, years for FREE maintenance wing and nail clippings. I also stock up on food, treats, toys, and other necessities. It's a true one stop shop. Unfortunately, I had an emergency the other day, and this was the first place I thought to bring my babies. No vets in my area take birds, but Magnolia Bird Farm has always had my birds' best interests. The staff is always incredibly helpful and truly became a light during this dark time. They provided me with 250 mg of Tetracycline to help treat the infection and showed me how to properly clean my baby's wound. I honestly don't know what I would've done without them. This is hands down the best place for anyone who has birds. I've been here a few times and each time has been a great experience. So far, I've bought some quails from them and a pair of superb parrots as well. The birds were well cared for, healthy, and the employee who helped me each time was so knowledgeable! When I bought the superb parrots they packed them so well with a lot of food and water to ensure they made the trip home safely. I can't say the same for other pet stores doing this! I truly appreciated it. My birds I got with them are happy and thriving and they even answered my questions on appropriate nests and swings. I've also bought some accessories here including seeds and a hummingbird feeder. Their prices are very reasonable and I love coming here. I always thought this place was amazing. thought it was cute how it's family owned also. But after having a personal setback and having to board my bird a little longer than anticipated I started to realize what kind of place magnolia really was. My cockatoo isn't the friendliest but his behavior has completely changed. He used to be a brave Alfa. He is now terrified of wooden dowels and perches. And I use the word terrified lightly. If I try to put a wooden dowel as a perch in his he has what looks like a night fright. He flaps all over his cage and almost injures himself. He did bite an employee and they let me know about it. as this is unacceptable ..... he is also a bird. A not tame cockatoo which I indicated multiple times. He was there for a total of two months. I know this is also unacceptable but we were not in a stable living situation and had no other option. As I started to see no light while we were staying in a hotel; I made the decision of selling my bird to magnolia for them to find him a home. After the sale they proceeded to tell to me was going to go be a breeder in an outdoor aviary. Nothing he has ever known for his 8 years of life. He's known family. Kids. I personally was the only one able to comfortably handle him and now I can't even pet him through his cage. Once they told me this I realized we needed to get him back asap. I sold him for $400 and owed about $200 in boarding fees. So $600 total. they made me buy him back for $1000 which I did happily when I moved into my home. That I not took about two weeks. So it's not like I left him there for months on end. It was probably a total of 2.5 months. I didn't live close to magnolia but heard great things so we made the drive to board him. We couldn't visit as much as we wanted but everytime I did visit it just seemed.... off. He always had weird black residue on his feathers, like soot. He's a big bird so he had to use their cage. He was completely unsightly and unpreened. He just didn't look like my pretty bird. Each time I visited it just got worse. I was thinking my bird was getting mad at me. he started to act up and do things he's never done his whole life. He's 8 so it's not hormones I know when it's hormones. The first time he was brought out by hand. After that they used their special little T shaped wooden perch to bring him down. He stepped up on it and was okay. But uneasy. I was notified he latched onto an employee (pretty sure the owners daughter) and After that when I would visit he would scream upstairs for minutes before they were able to get him down to me. I wasn't able to handle him with the stupid t shaped wooden perch they use in sight. He was terrified of it. I am 100% convinced my bird was hit at least once if not multiple times in this establishment. What were the black dirty marks on his feathers?? Him being hit by perches? I figured we needed time for him to decompress but we've been in a stable home and he's in his old cage and he's only been out once. And It was a nightmare. Now he won't even let us in his cage. And he was never cage aggressive. It's been almost 2 months now since I've had my bird back and he's now terrified of things he was never scared of before; and completely unhandleable. I've been trying to give this business the benefit of the doubt but at this point I know they hurt my bird. and it changed him. And it's not fair to him. He used to not live in his cage and he won't come out now. read more

FRESH ORGANIC bird seed/nuts/dried fruit you name it they have it and for a great price it'll surely beat where you're shopping now and your bird will thank you for it. Bulk supply with low prices and a HUUUGEEE place! You must see their birds when you go in they have lots and an absolute beautiful blue Macaw they have in the front sometimes on a stand it's such a treat seeing when I come in it's my favorite with my new one the toucan not on an open stand but just as lovely to see up close:) Our macaw is quite picky with her food if it's not fresh she won't eat. We stopped purchasing from big name pet supply chains years ago and got from the grocery but the price for seeds/nuts there or my local farmers markets have gotten too high imo but after trying feed from the farm and she ate it all we were sold no need for us to go anywhere else!! Our birds feathers are so vibrant in color, shiny and full compared to other birds of their species.. we thought it was because they were so happy however looking back at photos we can see now that the difference made was in the food. Sometimes critters will get in the seeds but that's what happens when they're fresh and not sprayed with any chemicals/pesticides just pop that bad boy in the freezer the seeds will be fine and the dried lil seed bug is extra protein LOL I'd choose that rather than overly processed feed any day! read more

It's been a while since I been at the bird farm. I went to visit some birds and see what they had in store. They have tons of products and food for your bird and employee always friendly and helpful when you have some questions regarding things. They also help recuse some animals such as bunnies and turtles. They have areas where you can go and look at many different birds and also purchase them as well. They even have some birds out in the open where you can pet them and interact with them. They have a lot of stuff for a very good price here and that's what I love about this place.
