I have loved this place for over 20 years, starting with the old location. Glad to see it's still around!

So... I'll start off by saying I'm a long time Houstonian and this has been one of my favorite places to go. My family has taken me frequently to buy herbs and candles well as it's smudging sticks but they have a huge variety of more, and their prices have always been relatively reasonable. In the last two years I've noticed a batch of new faces and a batch of terrible new attitudes. I had come in for candles a few weeks ago and was actively pulling candles out of the boxes for myself to purchase when blond sales woman situated herself in front of me with the customer to explain the candles to the customer, acting like I didn't exist. It's extremely irritating to go in there for something and have the sales people block you out like that. After I went to the front I noticed it was too short for the card limit and didn't have enough cash so I explained to the gentleman as I always do that I was going to run to the bank and get some cash and I would return within an hour. I came back and went to the front and asked for my items. They look around wildly realizing they had sold my items that I had left there to purchase. So once again I have to go pick out my items, go to the front and check out. So that's when I stopped going for candles. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry with interesting designs that you don't normally find anywhere else. I had purchased a ring a year ago in memorial of my grandfathers death when he passed. I was told at the time by the gentleman who also sold me my sword with the long dark hair usually tied in a ponytail that they could resize it if it was necessary, it was a $60 ring. In the following month I became gravely ill and lost a lot of weight. Eventually I came back to see if they could resize the ring while looking at their other jewelry that I was interested in purchasing and was not helped with, and was scoffed and told that they're not jewelers and they couldn't resize it. That's fine that they're not jewelers but it doesn't take a big room to do a resizing and they shouldn't tell people that they can resize it if they won't. I use to love this place but how I've been treated in the last year is ridiculous, my recent purchase my boyfriend and I tried to pick out a mortar and pestle, I had selected the one in the space marked seven dollars. They continue to tell me that it's $14 and continue to ring it up. I told them no I want the seven dollar one it's not about the size I wanted the price point, it shouldn't take that much arguing to get the product I want that half a mind to just leave. Until they get their old people back that are polite, I don't think I'll be returning and this is just a buyers beware message that they do have good products but they are what they are. I am not the type to throw names so make your judgment based off of the story. read more

This message is meant for the owner of the store. I recently purchased a dagger for my soon to be fiancé at your store at Texasrenfest. But I wanted to let you know that I would have purchased more from your store if it hadn't been for one of your employees. He is blonde and has a goatee. He verbally assaulted my soon to be fiancé and myself. At first I entertained his joking, but when he escalated it to having sex with my fiancé, telling me I could watch that's when it became unacceptable, he also continued to heckle us until we left the store disgusted. I wanted to make sure you knew what type of caliber person you have working for you and that he cost you a large sale and further business. read more

I don't buy often but it is always fun to go in. I get my smudging materials here and they are good quality. I appreciate the wide selection of everything, The people who have assisted me at the counter have been adequate to mildly friendly - with that said it's OK. I've never been treated rudely. The parking is small and - again no problem the side streets are usually easy to get a spot in. Good selection of jewelry and robes too. It is totally worth a visit with some extra spending money in your pocket! read more

I shopped here a few times because unfortunately there just isn't anything else in Houston. Overlooking the dirt and grunge is bad enough. The windows look like they've never been cleaned. The inside is just as bad. There is something very UN-magical about a place that is so dreary and dirty. Sorry. But I was willing to overlook all that AND the fact that their prices are ridiculous. But not anymore. I find the people who work there to be extremely rude. One woman should not be in retail of any kind. She does not know how to talk to people who simply ask a questions. Why else is she there other than to take my money?? I guess I'll have to plan more in advance from now on and buy my things online, because I refuse to go back. The only other option I see is looking into some of the local Botanica's. read more

I have been there several times and i love this place .... this is the go to place for not just magickal stuff but, for every need of unique and exotic things . Also if your looking for the right outfit for the renisounce festival this is the place to go!!! have fun..! read more

Horrible costumer, service the front desk staff are not clean they have their lunch all over the desk and are nasty! And some fat lady that was eating Raisin canes was not very polite to us and also some asshole parked behind my vehicle because it wasn't much parking, please add more parking to your location read more

Good little place for tarot cards, herbal magick, altar tools, candles, spells, altar items, statuary, altar tiles, chalices, bumper stickers, celtic, chakra, baphomet statues, pentagrams, athames, daggers, swords, voodoo dolls, soaps, tarot boxes, incenses, oils, mortar, pestles, and pendulums. But terrible for gemstones, jewelry, wands, points, and minerals-- their prices are ridiculous you could go to Shu's Rock Shop in League City to get a better deal, price, and quality. Even the Tourmalined Quartz is in terrible condition that it isn't worth being sold for the listed price, they have a fingernail Azurite for $24 and I got mines a larger piece for less than that at a Mineral Show. The Selenite wands are a ripoff too, for a better quality and quantity (wait for Clear Lake Gem & Mineral Society show every beginning of the year). The show wands/sticks are longer in length for $6-8 instead of the Magick Cauldron price of $24 & up for a shorter stick. They have tumbled stones in pull out trays but their prices are too much for the dull quality each stone is $3 ea. and popular minerals are pricer. Again, Shun's Rock Shop tumbled stones and minerals are 4 for $1 or $1 ea. depending if you want 1 or more. His jewelry are inexpensive and in great quality. The service is excellent has a staff walking around asking if everyone is doing good. Their books are overpriced-- I was wanting to get Gem Stone A to Z by Diane Stein online the book is $11, but the store book was $20. If your looking for wicca things this is the place, but if your looking for minerals this is NOT the place save your money and shop elsewhere like Shu's Rock Shop or go to Nature's Treasure for a better selection, quantity, quality, and deals! read more

This is the fist time I've left a review. I have come to the this store several time over many years and a location change. I know nothing of spiritual arts, I know a ton about rocks minerals, gems, fossils, anything geology related. I have made several large purchases of amber in the past. But this experience I had yesterday was one I will not forget. I took my baby and my 4 year old in the store. The 4 year old is also really into rocks. She was not more than 3 feet from me the entire time. I was holding her hand most of the time as we looked at the tumbled rocks. The tumbled stones are on the end of an aisle close to a huge round altar at the entry. While I was holding my daughters hand as well as pushing a stroller, all she had to do was lean over to blow out a "working candle"? For spells, maybe to keep vigil. She didn't know any better. She thought it was a birthday candle. I told the woman behind the counter and apologized. The disdain and unwelcomeness was oozing. Like please keep your kid in check and get out. She told me they could not be lit again if they are blown out. She seemed personally disgusted that I would suggest that. I was uninformed of candle magic or the rules of snuffing. I suggest putting your altar in a safe place or at least taking the spells out of an area where there is heavy traffic to keep from contaminating them. Please inform people nicely next time when they are unfamiliar with spell rules. Would you want to be treated like an unwelcome fool if you were in my shoes? I still have to go places with my kids. I am not going to stay at home because of them. But quick judgements about either a child having childish impulses or my lack of control over her snuffing your candles when they are in a busy entry will lose you business. read more

Great shop for the practitioner, or if you are looking for a resource. All kinds of incense, candles, herbs, and gems, as well as some great books. Staff is friendly and helpful, very nice. Will use this place for all my Pagan shopping. Thanks, Magick Cauldron! read more

I have not stepped foot into a Metaphysical Shoppe in 8 years. I felt it was time for a house cleansing and purification. I found all the herbs, oils and incense I needed to get the job done. I had also not had a reading in as many years and met with a gentleman by the name of Paul who gave me a wonderful reading at a reasonable rate. To say the least I was very impressed with my visit to this shoppe today and will be a returning customer. Thank you to the powers that be....... read more

A gorgeous rock collection, but way overpriced. If that's your thing, you can get the same quality at half the price from a decent rock shop. The cool things about this store are overshadowed by the extremely rude staff. It's not worth the poor treatment to shop here. read more
