I chose Will Rogers State beach and was lucky the weather that weekend was very nice and not too hot. Katya, who set up our picnic, chose a great spot that wasn't hard to find or walk to, even with bringing our own food/drinks. It surprisingly wasn't too crowded or awkward to have a fancy picnic setup with people around us. My friends and had the most amazing time!! It was such a dream come true and we wished we could've stayed longer haha (I booked for 3 hours which went by fast). The setup was so beautiful and we loved all the detail put into the decorations. It helped to add-on a 4ft table on the side to put the food/drinks and anything extra. Thank you Picnic Makers so much for a fun and beautiful experience!! Our graduation party was on a Friday, and I called Mike just a couple of days before. We were able to coordinate and have it all booked for my event. I really appreciate him and his team taking my reservation at such short notice. This activity was the highlight of the whole party. We did the 3 race car stations. Each with its own set of cars and course. I want to say the person who arrived and assisted the children in their play, I think his name is Bryan? Sorry it escapes me at the moment, but he was great! He made sure they played safely and interactively, and he was in the mix showing them how to use each one of the stations. He was on time, set up everything independently and quickly. Take down time was quick as well. The children were non-stop entertained from the first minute to the last. They didn't want it to end. Truly such a memorable experience for all the children. The booking process was smooth and easy. Anh is very responsive. She reached out the week of to finalize everything. The hostesses were on time and prompt for set up. Set up was adorable. They completed NEARLY all of the agreed upon services as stated in the contract. One issue was my daughter was excited for the color extension that was included in the package. They forgot to bring them, so offered an additional glitter tattoo. I agreed since I didn't really feel there was another option, and I didn't want to create any conflict during the party in front of 12 girls. If they don't have them, they don't have them. However, I do know it was one of the reasons my daughter chose that hairstyle and did mention her disappointment over it to me a few times throughout the day. The hostesses offered what they could, but I don't think it was equivalent. Another issue was that the spa hostesses weren't as engaging as I hoped. They were nice and completed the tasks, but they didn't really engage much with the kids. In fact, they didn't really host. "Meh" is how my husband described it. For a company that markets themselves for kids' parties, I would hope they would be able to create a more fun and festive atmosphere. Overall, nearly all of the services were completed as agreed upon in the contract, communication before the event was fantastic, but they were just missing that something extra to bring life to the party.

I had a moment of panic when I realized that it is still so new that there is not a lot out there (yet), so I started to search the interwebs. I reached out to Hillary from Spotlight Dance Studio as I had read a recommendation for their dance birthday parties in a local social media group. Hillary immediately got back to me and said that they hadn't done a KPDH dance party yet but that they had been waiting for the challenge and were ready to go! my daughter was allowed to chose her three favorite songs and we agreed on a dance routine to GOLDEN. we got incredibly lucky to be paired with dance teacher McCall! she was so incredibly lovely and immediately built a fantastic rapport with the kids! She played some warm up games and then taught the kids a three part choreography to the song! the kids had SO. MUCH. FUN!!! The kids did some team building games and gave themselves a name and then performed for the parents. it was absolutely WONDERFUL!! Contacting Spotlight Dance Studio was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my long history of anxious research for the kids' birthday parties !! It was incredibly disappointing to find out that some of the dogs brought to the party were as old as six years old. While they may have been small in size and perhaps "puppies" by their ages, they looked like they were mature dogs and did not match what you advertised or what I paid for. My daughter expected cute puppies, when a service is marketed as a puppy party, customers expect puppies that look like puppies, not puppies that are almost full grown or look like adult dogs. And now the company is refusing to provide me a partial refund, only offered $50 back.
