THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! Magic Touch Electrolysis and Skin Care is hands down the best place I've ever been to. Surila, Manjula, and Monika are absolute gems! They use the blend method, which no other place offers, and the results are 10x more effective than anything else I've tried. You can really see and feel the difference. It lasts longer and doesn't even hurt! You save so much time and money in the long run by doing electrolysis over other hair removal methods. On top of being experts in their craft, they're incredibly friendly, warm, and downright HILARIOUS! Every appointment feels less like a treatment and more like catching up with friends who also happen to be miracle workers. Their professionalism, skill, and energy make the whole experience amazing from start to finish. If you're looking for real results and a team that makes you feel comfortable and cared for, this is the place to go. I can't recommend Surila, Monica, and Manjula enough, you'll be so glad you found them! read more

Surila is the absolute best!! A breath of fresh air... I literally look forward for my appointments! She is so professional and meticulous in her work. She's also sensitive and really attuned to her clients. Her clinic is a little welcoming oasis in the city and is extremely clean. I wholeheartedly 10 out of 10 recommend!! read more

It took me so long to decide where to go for electrolysis treatment because there are so many options in the city but I have no regrets picking magic touch. From the first appointment they really take care of you and walk you through what the process is like. I've been coming here for over four months now and have had appointments with Surila, Monika, and Manjula and all three of them are great at what they do!! I see results already and I always look forward to my appointments here to catch up with Surila, they make you feel at home :) absolutely recommend to anyone who's having trouble deciding like I was. I have been going to Magic Touch Skin Care since I moved to New York eight months ago and I'm grateful to have found Surila. She is a perfectionist! She carefully removes all my facial hair after kindly applying an anesthetic to reduce the discomfort. Surila has been performing electrolysis services for many years and she is certainly an expert. Moreover, she is pleasant, kind, sensitive, and professional. While electrolysis is not pain-free, Surila graciously ordered a take home anesthetic for me so I could start the numbing process before leaving home for my appointment. Her office is very convenient as she is located right in the middle of the financial district. read more

Surila does an excellent job of working with African American hair. She's been doing this for a minute so she is experienced and she and her sister are so pleasant. I highly recommend Magic Touch. read more

Excellent, personalized, and friendly service! Surila runs a fantastic business! My friend and I came in to get our ears pierced - I found Magic Touch through Yelp, and called for an appointment. I was taken in immediately, and was accommodated quickly. Upon walking in, I was greeted warmly and professionally, and when I explained what I wanted done, was told that it wasn't a problem, and that she would be happy to do it. The piercing itself was clean and quick, and Surila knows what she's doing! Very clean and very professional. In addition, Surila let us mark on our own ears where we wanted the piercings, and gave us great advice! It's exactly what I wanted. Finally, the pricing was very competitive and fair, so we were very happy in the end! Personally, Surila is so warm and inviting! We had easy conversation about traveling, family, and New York, and she made sure we left happy, and as friends, not just clients. If I lived in NYC, I'd go to Surila for all of my piercing and hair removal desires. I am so impressed, and can't wait to come back to visit. read more

Magic Touch is absolutely amazing. I went there the very first time for a brazilian wax - they had good reviews on the internet and they are not far from work - I called in at 4 and she told me I could come in as soon as 6pm. Surila did a clean and accurate job - I was very happy with the results. After finishing waxing, she noticed I had a bunch of ingrown hair - they had been there for forever (that's what you get from 9+ years of waxing) and I always though I just had to live with them. She showed me how easy and pain-free was the procedure to get them out (with electrolysis) - and it was a no-brainer. Not to mention, electrolysis not only gets the ingrown hair out, but it also prevent it from growing ever again - it's infact the only FDA recognized way to permanently remove hair. I now have almost no ingrowns left. I have been to Magic Touch 5-6 times over the last 6 weeks, and my skin has never looked and felt better. Now that the ingrowns are gone however, it was time to wax again. Surila mentioned that she just got a new laser machine. Although laser hair removal is not as good as electrolysis, I decided to try it (they say 80% of your hair will be gone - good enough for me!!!!). That was 6 days ago - and as expected my hair is now starting to fall off naturally! I'll have to wait a couple of months to fully evaluate the results of the laser but let me tell you this place is a hidden gem. Surila will not be happy with her work until ALL your hair is gone - her price are very reasonable, she works around your schedule and she is one of the kindest people ever! I strongly recommend this place - I'll never go anywhere else. read more

After another appointment, results are still great! I also wanted to point out to Yelpers that there are, to date, 22 other positive reviews for Magic Touch that are currently "not recommended" by Yelp, but can be found by clicking through the link to them. read more

Surilla is amazing. She is very friendly, caring and she knows what she is doing. I would recommend her to anyone that has unwanted hair

Extremely happy I found Surila. I wasted sooo much time going to other electrologists that barely made any difference in permanent hair removal. With the others, I went literally from having excess hair, to having excess hair and bad skin. Surila has been far more effective with no noticeable skin damage. Plus she's super sweet. read more

I waited years to try electrolysis because I had read so many nightmare experiences of skin damage and poor results. I trusted Surila's stellar online reviews, and I'm glad I did. I've been going for almost a year and I've seen definitive results with absolutely no adverse effects. Surila's treatments have saved my skin and improved my habits and quality of life. She's also very responsive and flexible with scheduling and an utter delight to be around. I go less frequently now for little touch-ups, but I recommend her without reservations to everyone I know. This five star rating was a no brainer. read more

They use the blend method at Magic Touch, which is the only good way to get electrolysis, I think (no red marks). You can tell Surila is very experienced because the hairs don't tug when she pulls them out. She is very friendly, appointments start on time, and she always makes an effort to fit you in the schedule. read more

A decision to spend $150 an hour for several visits in a year and to do this for at least 2-3 years requires a huge commitment from a client and an equal measure of assurance from a salon. Surila's Magic Touch inspires both. When I made the decision to try electrolysis at Surila's salon, there was no looking back. She took me through the electrolysis sessions with great dedication and patience, always willing to accommodate my requests for late-evening appointments. On the very first visit I was comforted by her old-time client who told me she had tried several electrolysis salons before Magic Touch and she found Surila absolutely incomparable. Indeed, her steady hands were infallible and I never feared scars or scabs. In the beginning of my treatment, I saw her every week for 6 months and then every two weeks for a year or so. The results from her treatment keep me going to her and now I am close to completing my treatment. I strongly recommend Surila's salon to anyone who is looking for a permanent solution for unwanted hair. Surila is warm and chatty and has an admirable passion for her work. She enjoys it as much as her clients enjoy the results. Her clients are an interesting and busy bunch of people that keep her salon lively and cheerful. Located in the financial district of Manhattan, her salon is easy to access too! read more

This brazilian wax took FOREVER and it was really not a good experience, and on the pricier side. Wouldn't come back here for waxing. Place should stick to doing what they do best - which are other procedures. read more

I am truly lucky that I found Magic Touch Skin Care. I am extremely happy that I found Surila-she is amazing. I wasted months going to another electrolysis place that did not work at all-in fact it made my hair growth worse. They would pull out many hairs on my upper lip and chin area and than put the needle in-this method does not work. So if you are reading this stop getting treatments there right away because that method does not work at all. I than did a ton of research and learned all about the blend method which is what Surila does. I am so grateful I found Surila and that she does the Blend Method. She is so efficient at what she does. I had awful chin and lip hair and am seeing great results. I also started getting laser in addition to electrolysis too. Surila knows her stuff and I feel very safe going to her. I really trust her with removing my hair. Not only is Surila amazing at what she does but she is the sweetest person there is. She is completely honest and makes me always feel comfortable in her office. I recommended two of my friends to Surila and they love her now too! read more

This place, and Surita is a gem. By that I mean that she has an unusual talent, and combination of skills. She is both professional and empathetic/personal at the same time. She enjoys her work and works very patiently and carefully to do a thorough and long-lasting job. I see that Yelp deleted my previous review, so I guess they thought you have to say bad things to be legitimate. All I can say is that I wish I had known about her from the first time I started to have electrolysis. It is not only that she is good at what she does, but she cares about your feelings as well, and helps if you have any discomfort. I have a very low tolerence for pain, and she even applies pain killing ointment on your skin. I don't know if I am supposed to say that, but there it is. She also is very knowledgeable about other procedures and offers laser hair removal as well. She is so conscientious and honest that I would trust her with any recommendation she made. She is not overly self-promoting. She will tell you like it is. And to the Yelp editors, you are doing a disservice to readers by deleting good reviews from your site. I think it is outrageous, actually, that you would do that. The reason why Surita gets great reviews is that she is great. I have been coming to her off and on for facial hair for awhile. I just decided to make a commitment to get my slight moustache removed permanently, and I can see the results. I have been coming every two weeks and there is a lot less hair. Another thing unmentioned in the other reviews is that she is very private, and you feel at home, and safe in her office. That is something very desirable when having electrolysis. There is something very charming about her read more

Surila & Manjula are nothing short of amazing. I am African American & had ( notice I said had) the curliest, most stubborn, ingrown prone hair in my neck and beard area. They would curl & get trapped under the skin causing it to look like dark pimples. I tried electrolysis before with no results and felt disheartened that nothing would work for me. I started with Surila last March. With my type of hair, I gave myself about a 2-3 year timeline to see any sort of improvement let alone clearance. Within 8 months, the hair was coming out as smooth as butter. Areas of skin were free of hair. I started with every 2 weeks, now my average time is 3-4, yes 1 whole month! The hair is lighter, sparser, and ingrowns are practically non-existent. My skin improved. I am amazed. I don't even think about hair anymore. By the end of this year, I should be done, but knowing the skill of Surila & Manjula, it might not take that long. Surila & Manjula are better than good. They celebrate the progress with you, they're kind hearted, warm, funny, I don't think there are enough words to describe these two amazing ladies!!!! read more

I am extremely happy and grateful I have met Surilla and Manjuela! They are truly ONE of a KIND. Besides being so kind, good-hearted, and HONEST - their method works like magic. I have been going for electroysis for the past few months and see a major difference. I am so grateful I met these two in the city. It is really hard to find a place that is honest with your hair growth, how long it will take, and most importantly to see results! I am very grateful and highly, highly recommend this place. It is my go-to! read more
