We are THRILLED to have found Vy Vy and have officially found our Memphis hair stylist! The whole experience was great. Rushed there after work to make it before closing, and even though there were quite a few people in line ahead of us, she took her time to give each person a quality cut and was happy to take us after hours. I picked Pavo on a whim, literally sitting in my car in a parking lot and dejectedly picking at my split ends, telling myself that I had to get a damn haircut before my vacation, and sincerely considering Googling Great Clips rather than suffer the anticipation of trying a new stylist. I picked Pavo because I kind of wanted to try their shampoo. Truth. I called and they had an opening for the next day. Great sign, right? Actually - YES. In fact, hell to the yes. When I tell you that the universe aligned and the heavens opened up when Merideth walked into the waiting area, I am not kidding. She was fun and bright and bouyant and laser-focused on my hair--how did I wear it most often, how did it react in humidity, how did it like its eggs in the morning--and gave recommendations and tips and honest feedback with the ease and grace of a physician ballerina who also happens to be your best friend. Again, the service is fine, but if you rely, like I do, on being able to count on a haircut at a certain time, then I'm afraid that they may fall short. Once you walk in, the waiting room and place is great inside. They have cool art on the walls and plenty to look at and talk about. They even had a stack of books for sale in the front by a local author/artist that were alphabet picture books of local Memphis spots. They embody supporting local. Their service is amazing. I've never spent a bunch of time waiting. Everyone there is super friendly. I tend to have some awkward silences when getting haircuts but everyone there is so kind and welcoming that's never been a problem. I've also gotten the best looking cuts of my life there and they've been consistent. I've seen a few stylists and they're all great. They're also super affordable for men's cuts.
